Taggart was a Scottish detective television programme, created by Glenn Chandler, who wrote many of the episodes, and made by STV Productions for the ITV network. The series revolved around a group of detectives, initially in the Maryhill CID of Strathclyde Police, though various storylines were set in other parts of Greater Glasgow and in other areas of Scotland. The team operated out of the fictional John Street police station.
Taggart was one of the UK's longest-running television dramas and the longest-running police drama after the cancellation of The Bill.
Mark McManus, who played the title character Jim Taggart, died in 1994; however, the series continued under the same name.
The show's 100th story was aired on the ITV network on Christmas Eve 2009. In May 2011 the ITV network decided to axe Taggart from the network after 28 years.
The series theme music is "No Mean City" sung by Maggie Bell.
Jackson Hole is the valley floor between the Teton Mountain Range and the Snake River, located along the border of Wyoming and Idaho. The name "hole" was used by early trappers or mountain men, who primarily entered the valley from the north and east and had to descend along relatively steep slopes, giving the sensation of entering a hole. These low-lying valleys are surrounded by mountains and contain rivers and streams, which were good habitat for beaver and other fur-bearing animals.
The town of "Jackson" was named by Margaret Simpson in late 1893, who at the time was receiving mail at her home as there was no post office. She named the town in order for easterners to be able to forward mail west. The town became incorporated in 1914. The town was named after David Edward "Davey" Jackson who trapped beaver in the area in the late 1820s while he was a partner in the firm of Smith, Jackson & Sublette. Davy Jackson was the first white man to spend an entire winter in the Valley of the Teton Mountains. Though used by Native Americans for hunting and ceremonial purposes, the valley was not known to harbor year-round human settlement prior to the 1870s. Descriptions of the valley and its features were recorded in the journals of John Colter, who had been a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. After returning to the Rocky Mountains, Colter entered the region in 1807 in the vicinity of Togwotee Pass and became the first white American to see the valley. His reports of the valley, the Teton Range and the Yellowstone region to the north were viewed by people of the day with skepticism.

Flyoming is a film about the current level of snowkiting in Wyoming. Snowkiting has been in Wyoming for over 15 years now and has moved onto bigger terrain and off the flats more and more each year. The possibilities grow every season as the equipement and skill level continues to improve. Our Exploration continues and there are many stones left unturned for now. I've filmed the entire film with a GoPro and a Canon 6d and I apologize for the moire which is an issue with the 6d. I've got my first timelapses with the 6d in here along with the use of a Cinevate Slider which has been really fun to use. The aerial shots are out the window of a Cessna with my buddy Jacob Glissmeyer flying. Generally the shakier shots are the ones that are further in the back country since I was traveling withou...
We dedicated this film to our good friend Marty Lowe. He is a Rocky Mountain snowkite and wind chasing legend. I was deeply inspired when I first met him and was so impressed with his knowledge of the area and his explorations. He was always a strong supporter of the Jackson Hole Kiters and always encouraged us to keep filming and exploring. Marty passed away just as we were finishing this video and the entire kite community in the western USA will miss him deeply. Thinlines is a cinematic snowkite short documenting the last 2 months of the 2014 season. This video was shot at a number of places in the Jackson, Wy area including 3 Waters Mountain in the Wind Rivers, the Absaroka’s, the Buffalo Plateau, Togwotee, and a little Bondo. Many of these shots are documenting the first snowkite se...
This is basically an in-season edit documenting the last month or so. We nearly used every model of 2014 Ozone kite in this video while exploring the backcountry of Wyoming. The last week or so we finally got enough snow to really get some nice shots allowing us to finish this video.
This video is a collaboration of snowkite contributors from all over the country. Representatives of all types of snowkiting were present at the Summit. The main frustration we face in the industry is a lack of cohesion amongst each other. An association is needed, formal structure for competitions is needed. After we brainstormed as a community we decided to employ this 1 to 6 grading concept and see if we can push it as a community as a step toward working together. In many other sports such as rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, mountaineering... the community creates a grade of difficulty so individuals can improve progressively against the scale since direct competition isn't suited. That way, becoming fluent in the use of a grading system allows you to attempt more challenges more pr...

The Bighorn Mountain Range is located Northern Wyoming. The upper portions of the range ease back in steepness to form what is arguably the best snow kite terrain in the United States. In particular, Mt. Baldy possesses a combination of nearly treeless rolling mountain meadows, advanced steeps, and a ten thousand foot altitude that holds snow and catches wind. The usually ample early season snowpack and diversity of this amazing area makes it the ideal staging grounds for the first ever, Bighorn Snowkite Summit. The goal of the Summit is to brings together snow kite enthusiasts of all ability levels early in the w...
