After four years of time, we feel proud to announce that we have finally come up with this educational cum historical documentary film called "In Search of Education". We are hopeful that this documentary will be able to meet its goals and conveyed message in today's context. The basic aims and objectives of this documentary are:
A. To introduce the history of Nepal and specially its educational history.
B. To inform about the different phases of educational development in Nepal.
C. To inform about the geographical, social, economic and political situation of Nepal.
D to let about the education system in Nepal through this documentary
E. To let the students, teachers and educationalists struggles of Karnali (far west part of Nepal) for education
F. As an academic and an "open academic museum" for students, teachers, parents irrespective of state boundaries.
As this documentary has been dedicated to students, teachers and parents, we humbly request you to make this small attempt a successful one.

A Documentary Film
"In Search of Education"
Synopsis
What is education? At what period of time education started? By what means our ancestors used to educate themselves? What is the importance and achievement of education? Recognizing the historical development of education in the context of Nepal, East Channel has come up with a documentary film "In Search of Education" based on the history of education system in Nepal.
This documentary film presents the series of development seen in the educational system of Nepal, from Stone Age to Vedic form of learning, from Licchavi period to Malla period, from Shah Period to Rana Period and the film also throws light on the beginning of English education system in Nepal. Reflecting on the history of Durbar High School (that initiated schooling system in Nepal), depicting the experience of living legend Mr.Shesh Raj Dali who represents the last batch (1933A.D) of Matriculation System in Nepal and highlighting the history of Sanskrit education system and the education before the political change of 1950A.D, this documentary also portrays the development of education in Nepal with political changes in different epochs of time.
This documentary specifically includes the heart-rending incidents that have occurred in the Karnali region due to economic motives. At the same time this film also puts 'when' question on the origin and development of Nepali language used as the national language. It also records the introduction of the first school in Karnali region.
The film highlights the geographical and socio-economic condition of Karnali zone as the direct impact on the education system: the majority of school students in search of 'Yarchagumba' (Cordyceps sinensis fungus) in the Himalayan area alone or accompanied by their parents, life threatening accidents like avalanche met by them in search of their income generation, various hindrances in the academic setting of Karnali and the pain felt by entire Karnali dwellers. Despite all these, their love and attachment to the importance of education is the moral advice that this film seek to endow upon its audiences.
Problems that Karnali region face is found in different corners of Nepal and this documentary film makes Karnali represents all such corners and show that these problems are the collective problems of Nepalese students, teachers, and parents. This film 'In search of Education' is dedicated to them as they serve the nation, and are the nation builders.

Benefits of connections between universities and schools in teacher preparation are plentiful. It is argued that the lack of school and university partnerships is an enduring weakness that impedes the quality of pre-service teachers and subsequently the quality of education offered by nations. A shift is occurring in the US and globally with evidence from recent reforms in Finland, Australia and the UK. This study investigates a highly successful course in the UK. A course that advocates intricate connections with schools in the local community which is valued by all stakeholders. The course was awarded “Outstanding” by the national regulatory authority, Ofsted. The data and findings of this study offer insights into successful bridging of university “theory” and school “practice”. This study assists teacher educators from around the world through illustrating a highly successful example of university and school partnerships.

Envisioning the Future: Building on the Past - Utilizing the Strengths of Somali Society and History.
The 11th SSIA congress will be hosted by the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue, Lillehammer, Norway, 11-13 October 2012, in cooperation with IFTIIN, Somali-Norwegian Knowledge Centre. Knowing the variety of competence the congress attracts the congress will look at Somalia's rich culture and history, its values and how these factors shape the future of the Somali nation.
The title of the 11th SSIA Congress is Envisioning the Future: Building on the Past - Utilizing the Strengths of Somali Society and History. Numerous peace and reconciliation conferences, workshops and political meetings have taken place over the past decades, mostly led by non-Somalis, and with the best intentions. Nevertheless, the expressed intentions of these gatherings have not materialized on the ground. We believe the key to a successful future lies with the Somali themselves and consequently finding a solution to the conflict in Somalia must resonate with the Somali nation and build on Somali experience.
The 11th Congress of the Somali Studies International Association (SSIA) will focus on the many functioning aspects of Somali society. Contrary to popular belief, many local communities in Somalia function well at the basic level and their inhabitants enjoy relative stability.

Of Education
The tractate Of Education was published in 1644, first appearing anonymously as a single eight-page quarto sheet (Ainsworth 6). Presented as a letter written in response to a request from the Puritan educational reformer Samuel Hartlib, it represents John Milton's most comprehensive statement on educational reform (Viswanathan 352), and gives voice to his views "concerning the best and noblest way of education" (Milton 63). As outlined in the tractate, education carried for Milton a dual objective: one public, to “fit a man to perform justly, skillfully, and magnanimously all the offices, both private and public, of peace and war” (55); and the other private, to “repair the ruins of our first parents by regaining to know God aright, and out of that knowledge to love Him, to be like Him, as we may the nearest by possessing our soul of true virtue” (52).
Influences
The influences at work in the tractate are an interesting blend of Renaissance humanism with its emphasis on the via activa, tempered by the more contemplative medieval concern with personal redemption. It is clear, however, that the overwhelming thrust of Milton's educational programme as outlined in the tractate is centred in the public objective. This is likely a reaction to the scholasticism that dominated the medieval university from the twelfth century, which still held sway in Milton's time (Ainsworth 25).

B. To inform about the different phases of educational development in Nepal.
C. To inform about the geographical, social, economic and political situation of Nepal.

E. To let the students, teachers and educationalists struggles of Karnali (far west part of Nepal) for education
F. As an academic and an "open academic museum" for students, teachers, parents irrespective of state boundaries.

"In Search of Education"
Synopsis
What is education? At what period of time education started? By what means our ancestors used to educate themselves? What is the importance and achievement of education? Recognizing the historical development of education in the context of Nepal, East Channel has come up with a documentary film "In Search of Education" based on the history of education system in Nepal.
This documentary film presents the series of development seen in the educational system of Nepal, from Stone Age to Vedic form of learning, from Licchavi period to Malla period, from Shah Period to Rana Period and the film also throws light on the beginning of English education system in Nepal. Reflecting on the history of Durbar High School (that initiated schooling system in Nepal), depicting the experience of living legend Mr.Shesh Raj Dali who represents the last batch (1933A.D) of Matriculation System in Nepal and highlighting the history of Sanskrit education system and the education before the political change of 1950A.D, this documentary also portrays the development of education in Nepal with political changes in different epochs of time.
This documentary specifically includes the heart-rending incidents that have occurred in the Karnali region due to economic motives. At the same time this film also puts 'when' question on the origin and development of Nepali language used as the national language. It also records the introduction of the first school in Karnali region.
The film highlights the geographical and socio-economic condition of Karnali zone as the direct impact on the education system: the majority of school students in search of 'Yarchagumba' (Cordyceps sinensis fungus) in the Himalayan area alone or accompanied by their parents, life threatening accidents like avalanche met by them in search of their income generation, various hindrances in the academic setting of Karnali and the pain felt by entire Karnali dwellers. Despite all these, their love and attachment to the importance of education is the moral advice that this film seek to endow upon its audiences.
Problems that Karnali region face is found in different corners of Nepal and this documentary film makes Karnali represents all such corners and show that these problems are the collective problems of Nepalese students, teachers, and parents. This film 'In search of Education' is dedicated to them as they serve the nation, and are the nation builders.

Benefits of connections between universities and schools in teacher preparation are plentiful. It is argued that the lack of school and university partnerships is an enduring weakness that impedes the quality of pre-service teachers and subsequently the quality of education offered by nations. A shift is occurring in the US and globally with evidence from recent reforms in Finland, Australia and the UK. This study investigates a highly successful course in the UK. A course that advocates intricate connections with schools in the local community which is valued by all stakeholders. The course was awarded “Outstanding” by the national regulatory authority, Ofsted. The data and findings of this study offer insights into successful bridging of university “theory” and school “practice”. This study assists teacher educators from around the world through illustrating a highly successful example of university and school partnerships.

Numerous peace and reconciliation conferences, workshops and political meetings have taken place over the past decades, mostly led by non-Somalis, and with the best intentions. Nevertheless, the expressed intentions of these gatherings have not materialized on the ground. We believe the key to a successful future lies with the Somali themselves and consequently finding a solution to the conflict in Somalia must resonate with the Somali nation and build on Somali experience.
The 11th Congress of the Somali Studies International Association (SSIA) will focus on the many functioning aspects of Somali society. Contrary to popular belief, many local communities in Somalia function well at the basic level and their inhabitants enjoy relative stability.

Nejat seems disapproving about his widower father Ali's choice of prostitute Yeter for a live-in girlfriend. But he grows fond of her when he discovers she sends money home to Turkey for her daughter's university studies. Yeter's sudden death distances father and son. Nejat travels to Istanbul to search for Yeter's daughter Ayten. Political activist Ayten has fled the Turkish police and is already in Germany. She is befriended by a young woman, Lotte, who invites rebellious Ayten to stay in her home, a gesture not particularly pleasing to her conservative mother Susanne. When Ayten is arrested and her asylum plea is denied, she is deported and imprisoned in Turkey. Lotte travels to Turkey,where she gets caught up in the seemingly hopeless situation of freeing Ayten.
Yeter's Death
Retired widower Ali Aksu (Tuncel Kurtiz), a Turkish immigrant living in the German city of Bremen, believes he has found a solution to his loneliness when he meets Yeter Öztürk (Nursel Köse). He offers her a monthly payment to stop working as a prostitute and move in with him. After receiving threats from two Turkish Muslims for the work she does, she decides to accept his offer. Ali's son, Nejat Aksu (Baki Davrak), a professor of German literature, does not have time to respond to the prospect of living with a woman of "easy virtue" before Ali is stricken with a heart attack. He softens to her: he learns that she has told her 27-year-old daughter she is a shoe saleswoman, sending shoes to her in Turkey to support that story, and wishes her daughter could receive an education like his.
Back home from the hospital, Ali suspects Yeter and his son may have had a liaison. When his drunken demands of Yeter cause her to threaten to leave, he strikes her and she dies from the blow. Ali is sent to prison.
Nejat travels to Istanbul to search for Yeter's daughter, Ayten (Nurgül Yeşilçay), and assumes responsibility for her education. Unable to locate her through her family and not having any recent photos of her, he posts flyers with Yeter's photo throughout the area, in hope that it will lead to the daughter. When he posts a flyer in a small German language bookstore that happens to be for sale, he finds himself charmed into buying it.

Yeter, eine Prostituierte aus Bremen, bekommt von einem Kunden, dem wie sie türkischstämmigen, im Ruhestand lebenden Witwer Ali, das Angebot, seine Lebensgefährtin zu werden, ohne dadurch finanziell einzubüßen. Da ihr zur gleichen Zeit von zwei jungen Muslimen gedroht wird, sie solle ihren Beruf aufgeben, willigt sie ein und zieht zu ihm. Dort lernt sie dessen Sohn Nejat kennen, einen Germanistikprofessor, der seinen Vater des Öfteren besucht. Kurze Zeit später erleidet Ali einen schweren Herzinfarkt. Zurück aus der Klinik, benimmt er sich renitent, ordinär und machohaft. Als Yeter droht auszuziehen, schlägt er sie; sie stürzt unglücklich und verletzt sich tödlich. Ali kommt ins Gefängnis.
Nejat, der sich von seinem Vater lossagt und ihn als „Mörder“ bezeichnet, begibt sich nach Istanbul, um Yeters Tochter Ayten aufzuspüren. Yeter hatte ihm erzählt, sie habe den Kontakt zu der 27-Jährigen verloren, habe ihr vorher ab und an Schuhe geschickt (um die Illusion zu nähren, sie arbeite in einem Schuhgeschäft), wolle ihr aber am liebsten eine gute Ausbildung finanzieren. Dies gibt Nejat dann als seinen eigenen Wunsch an auf die Frage der Behörden, warum er nach Ayten suche. Yeters Familie in der Türkei weiß auch nichts über ihren Verbleib, hilft ihm aber bei der Suche. Als er damit beginnt, Flyer mit Yeters Konterfei zu verteilen, stößt er auf eine deutschsprachige Buchhandlung, die zum Verkauf angeboten wird. Nejat übernimmt sie und bleibt in Istanbul.

The root story of Solar Swapnam is about the woman harassment, yes in today's world the attitude of society toward woman has changed a lot. She is not safe now, she need more security. Human rights violations against women have, for too long, been denied the attention and concern of international organizations, national governments, traditional human rights groups and the press. Meanwhile, hundreds of millions of girls and women around the world continue to endure debilitating and often fatal human rights abuses. These are only a few instances of abuse which occur every single day all around the world. Human rights violations against women must be documented, publicized and stopped. India, which was believed to be the center of world culture and tradition has almost lost it's ethnic values. Man is using woman for his pleasure, prosperity and sake. In many issues we have heard women as culprits, who have bowed heads. But behind each and everyone of them there is a Man, who pressed and seduced her and pushed her self into the pit. But his name will be of-the record. He is safe and sound. Now law will fetch behind him, especially in India. Man easily gain her trust and tactically cheats her.
Haritha nair is the central character of this movie. she is a highly educated woman. But she also had a dark past of child hood. She is still searching for that face. She is pretty bold, smart & good looking. Haritha is a very responsible social animal. Her friend Sandra is press reporter. Both were keenly interested in social disputers, especially in woman rescue and empowerment. Ajay kartha was a cunning person. He is a born criminal. But none of his friends of relatives never know it. He murdered his wife Rajalakshmi, to gain the life insurance money. He had cheated so many women too. But he left no clues. When he came to know about Haritha, he tactically grabbed her attention, eventually it turned into a relation. She got cheated, and betrayed. But his intentions were far more than that, he invited her to join into his 'Solar Apartments' projects. He arranged parties and meetings of the big shots and politicians. He used Haritha & Gayatri to gain the approvals and advance cash. Haritha was a smart girl, she never lost her self into the hands of those low lives. She trusted Ajay a lot, but she never realized his black heart. The so called "Business' grown more and more, company got millions of investments. But they never started any of the construction works. Ajay framed some strange reasons for all. On the other hand Haritha eventually came to know about the forgeries in company. She found the old guy who dislodged her life, he is now a king maker is politics, KRP. But she was too late. She got arrested as the main accused. Adv.Kartha, bailed her out.
