Run It!

"Run It" is a song recorded by American recording artist Chris Brown. It was written and produced by Scott Storch and Sean Garrett for his debut studio album, Chris Brown (2005). It features rap verses from American rapper Juelz Santana. The song was released as his debut single on October 30, 2005. The R&B single has been described as a de-crunked version of Usher's 2004 single "Yeah!". The remix features rappers Bow Wow and Jermaine Dupri and was performed at The 2006 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards by Bow Wow and Chris Brown. The radio version of the song was featured on the 2006 compilation album Now That's What I Call Music! 21

"Run It!" was generally well received by music critics; many praised Brown's vocals and Scott Storch's production. Commercially, the song was successful, peaking inside the top ten in six countries and the top twenty in four. The song also managed to top the charts in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The music video earned nominations at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards for "Best New Artist" and "Viewer's Choice".

Chris Brown

Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American singer, dancer, rapper and actor. Born in Tappahannock, Virginia, he was involved in his church choir and several local talent shows from a young age. Having signed with Jive Records in 2004, Brown released his self-titled debut studio album the following year. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With his first single "Run It!" peaking atop the US Billboard Hot 100, Brown became the first male artist as a lead since Diddy in 1997 to have his debut single top the chart. His second album Exclusive (2007) spawned his second Hot 100 number one "Kiss Kiss", in addition to "With You" and "Forever". The album was also certified double platinum by the RIAA.

In 2009, Brown received much media attention after pleading guilty to felony assault of his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna; he was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. His third album Graffiti was released later that year, and included the top-twenty single "I Can Transform Ya". Brown's fourth album F.A.M.E. (2011) became his first to top the Billboard 200; it spawned the successful singles "Yeah 3x", "Look at Me Now", and "Beautiful People". F.A.M.E. earned Brown his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 54th Grammy Awards. His fifth album Fortune was released in 2012. However, after the release of Exclusive, Brown's albums have not been well received commercially or by music critics, with the exception of X, which received a normalized rating of 63. Brown's seventh studio album Royalty was released on December 18, 2015.

Stevie Stone

Stephen Williams better known by his stage name Stevie Stone is an American rapper from St. Louis, Missouri. He is signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music record label. He has released three studio albums, with his most recent being Malta Bend which was released on June 30, 2015.

Career

Stone, who grew up in Columbia, Missouri, is based in St. Louis. He discovered a love of music through his mother, a singer and choir director who introduced the rapper to gospel, blues, and soul at an early age. As he grew up, Stone had his feet in the worlds of music and sports, pursuing a basketball career and playing piano and drums. Though he received an offer to play ball for a junior college in Iowa, he was asked to open at a show just weeks before he would leave for school, and he chose to focus on his rap career. In 2007, Stone signed with Ruthless Records, which released his debut, New Kid Coming, on September 29, 2009. Not long afterwards, the MC left the label to sign with Tech N9ne's Strange Music. On June 12, 2012, his second studio album Rollin' Stone was released. On October 23, 2012, he released an EP titled Momentum. On August 13, 2013, his third studio album 2 Birds 1 Stone was released.
