Vasudevan Nair (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan was a Tamil playback singer and actor in the Tamil film industry.
Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. In the early years of the last century, Chattu Nair of Ottappalam, Ammalu of Polpulli along with their respective families migrated to Malaysia in search of livelihood. Vasudevan's mother is the second wife of his father. They became labourers in the rubber estates in Rajaghiri estate, Kuala Selangor. After a few years Chattu Nair and Ammalu became husband and wife in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayalee, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaysia then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture. As such, Tamil became his language of choice, at school and at home.
Chattu Nair was musically inclined and all his children grew with a natural ability to sing and appreciate music. Malaysia Vasudevan had once said that all his family members, except his mother Ammalu, were singers. Chattu Nair used to entertain the estate labourers by singing. He first started learning music from his father and later on, his brother taught him. Vasudevan started singing on stage when he was eight. Vasudevan was also interested in acting. His step nephew, Manivannan, who was a popular singer and actor among the Malaysian Indians for the Radio Television Malaysia's Kalappadam programme in the 90's.
Vasudevan may refer to:
Given name:
A music director may be the director of an orchestra or concert band, the director of music for a film, the director of music at a radio station, the head of the music department in a school, the coordinator of the musical ensembles in a university, college, or institution (but not usually the head of the academic music department), the head bandmaster of a military band, the head organist and choirmaster of a church, or an Organist and Master of the Choristers (a title given to a Director of Music at a cathedral, particularly in England).
The title of "music director" or "musical director" is used by many symphony orchestras to designate the primary conductor and artistic leader of the orchestra. The term "music director" is most common for orchestras in the United States. With European orchestras, the titles of "principal conductor" or "chief conductor" are more common, which designate the conductor who directs the majority of a given orchestra's concerts in a season. In musical theatre and opera, the music director is in charge of the overall musical performance, including ensuring that the cast knows the music thoroughly, supervising the musical interpretation of the performers and pit orchestra, and conducting the orchestra.
Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and with vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, and there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). In its most general form, the activities describing music as an art form include the production of works of music (songs, tunes, symphonies, and so on), the criticism of music, the study of the history of music, and the aesthetic examination of music. Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound."

But Vasudevan, suspects foul play & moves into the same apartment complex that Ramya lived, in-order to investigate further. While police investigation is underway in the neighborhood, people who are associated with the case are killed under seemingly mysterious circumstances. Vasudevan soon discovers a supernatural force in play, which seems to have taken the form of water(H2O). He probes further, and learns that Ramya's spirit is behind the killings. Ramya's spirit then uses her sister Divya as a medium to reveal the true circumstances behind her death at the hands of her husband Bala (Nandha). The spirit recounts the story of Ramya's marriage to Bala and their life together. In the early days of her marriage, Ramya inadvertently confesses her past relationship with Vasudevan to Bala, after which he develops a strong jealousy towards Vasudevan. Later, when a young neighbor's (Heera Selvaraj) paramour intentionally insinuates that Ramya is his lover to a nosy neighbor, things take a turn for the worse. Rumours about Ramya's alleged trysts with her lover begin to circulate in the apartment complex. When Bala learns of the rumor's, his jealousy turns into rage and eventually consumes him, driving him to murder Ramya. After Vasudevan learns of this, a series of twists and turns take the plot forward, until a final confrontation between Vasudevan and Bala..

This is a story of sad captive buglings who are forced to dance for food. They tell you their story through interpretive dance. I lied, it's just an excercise in movement - I'm self-learning how to animate and bugling bodies are easy to work with.
