The Hindu Kush (/kʊʃ, kuːʃ/; Pashto, Persian and Urdu: هندوکش), also known in Ancient Greek as the Caucasus Indicus (Ancient Greek: Καύκασος Ινδικός) or Paropamisadae (Ancient Greek: Παροπαμισάδαι), is an 800-kilometre-long (500 mi) mountain range that stretches between central Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. It forms the western section of the Hindu Kush Himalayan Region (HKH). It divides the valley of the Amu Darya (the ancient Oxus) to the north from the Indus River valley to the south.
The highest point in the Hindu Kush is Tirich Mir or Terichmir at 7,708 metres (25,289 ft) in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. To the east, the Hindu Kush buttresses the Pamir Mountains near the point where the borders of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan meet, after which it runs southwest through Pakistan and into Afghanistan, finally merging into minor ranges in central Afghanistan like the Koh-i Baba. The mountain range separates Central Asia from South Asia.
Also known as “Afghanica,” Hindu Kush is a pure indica cultivar from the mountainous region shared by Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India. Hindu Kush is easy to grow indoors or out and while it is a great choice for beginners, it’s also a favorite of breeders because of its rock solid stability and consistency. This strain has many medical applications from anxiety and depression to pain relief and sleep disorders. The flavors and aromas are sweet and woody while the effects are soothing and contemplative. Hindu Kush is also well known for making fine hash.We hope you enjoy the show and please subscribe! Check our other videos for strain reviews and gardening tips. Like and comment! Lowari Pass (or Lowari Top) (el. 10,230 ft.) is a high mountain pass that connects Chitral with Dir in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Lowari Top is a relatively low pass, by far the lowest pass to enter Chitral, the rest all being 12,000 to 15,000 feet. Lowari Top is closed by snow from late November to late May every year. During this time, jeeps cannot cross so men must travel by foot. This is dangerous, as there are high mountains on each side of Lowari Top, and a deadly avalanche can come at any moment without warning. Every winter a few persons are killed by avalanches while crossing Lowari Top. Their bodies are buried under the snow and it is only when the summer comes and the snow melts that their bodies are found and their fate learned. Nevertheless, Lowari Top remains popular be...

Oh yeah... so one of my all time favorite strains is getting the review treatment today! Hindu Kush! I kinda go long on this one as it's a strain that's close to my heart. Hindu was one of the first strains I identified as being a specific treatment for my PTSD. I found that Hindu, more than any other strain, would calm my anxiety, alleviate my depression and almost guarantee me a good night sleep. For months it was the only strain I used and is still a keystone in my ongoing treatment plan. Hindu is great whether you are smoking, vaping or cooking! I find it translates perfectly to cooking and infusions and is never overpowering in the flavour department. Of course it helps to have a great delivery device and the Vapexhale Cloud Evo is about as good as you can get! To see my full...

Once a vital piece of the hippy trail, well disposed, wonderful Afghanistan has unfortunately been crushed by years of war and disregard. Home to ample farmland and the rough Hindu Kush mountain range, explorers desired the acceptable mountain air and to see attractions like the monster Buddha statues of Bamiyan. Then again, the statues and numerous different landmarks were wrecked under the cataclysmic rule of the Taliban, a gathering of Islamic aggressors. - See more at: http://www.helpskhmers.com/afghanistan-travel-guide/#sthash.3QZhOt6c.dpuf Afghanistan Travel Guide, World Travel Guides, SCC Education Kampong Thom Cambodia,

In this short film, Jonny explains about setting up and running, Wild Frontiers, the multi-award winning adventure travel company... In the Beginning… In 1996, after the relative success of my first travel book, Running with the Moon – a journey that saw me drive a motorbike right the way around the African Continent – I decided to follow in the footsteps of my two heroes form English literature, Peachy Carnehan and Daniel Dravot, from Rudyard Kipling’s short story, the Man Who Would be King. Growing a beard and donning local garb, I travelled, largely on foot, from Marwar Junction in India, through Pakistan, across the Khyber Pass and into war-torn Afghanistan. Here I trekked through the Hindu Kush and the Afghan province of Nuristan before finally emerging here into the valleys of the K...

و رفعنا لك ذكرك صلى الله عليه و اله وسلم السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته Way back in October 2010, we had warned the Americans that we will choke their supplies if they continue to wage a war against Pakistan! CIA and NATO did not take us seriously back then and today, pay the price for their arrogance! Let us warn them again -- get out of Afghanistan while you still can and do NOT even think of bringing India as your puppy dogs into Afghanistan. The Pakistani nation is furious and in rage. You would be lucky if you can get out Afghanistan alive. Take this as our last warning. Our message to the Indians -- welcome to Afghanistan. We will meet you there InshAllah. Just one word of caution -- Remember the word Hindu Kush, where Afghanistan is situated -- It means the Hindu Killers!!!...

From Afghanistan we usually see shocking news about attacks and terrorists, army troops and their missions. However in this inhospitable country people live their regular lives, get married, have children, and like everyone they have dreams and desires. We come from two parts of the world, we are members of various cultures, we have different religious faiths. We are divided by a distance which leaves us unrecognizable to each other. Slovaks have become part of the war in Afghanistan in such a way that we have sent there our soldiers and we stand on the side of those that are convinced about its rightness and necessity. As long as our troops are here, they will always perceive us as invaders, however good our intentions may be... Anton Szomolányi (*1963 Bratislava, SR) and Lukáš Rogans...
A classic 1989 segment of National Geographic Explorer in which G. Whitney Azoy, a Pulitzer Prize nominated scholar, author and expert on the culture and politics of Afghanistan, treks deep into Afghanistan in search of a lapis mine. The caravan goes on foot -- step by brutal step -- from Pakistan through what is now a no-man's land of Nuristan and into the Hindu Kush. Magnificent camera work under overwhelmingly difficult conditions.
