Romain Gavras (born 4 July 1981 in Athens, Greece) is a Greek French director, best known overseas for directing M.I.A.'s controversial video for "Born Free". His films and music videos often portray a gritty and realistic setting juxtaposed with flashy high energy content. He won two MTV Video Music Awards in 2012 for Best Cinematography and Best Direction, both for the "Bad Girls" video he directed for M.I.A.
He is the son of Constantinos Gavras (Costa-Gavras) and co-founder in 1994 of the collective Kourtrajmé with Kim Chapiron, the son of Kiki Picasso.
Jamie Smith (born 28 October 1988), better known by his stage name Jamie xx, is an English music producer, remix artist and DJ who is known both as a solo act and as a member of the London-based band The xx. He has been recognised with a 2016 Grammy Award nomination in the Best Electronic/Dance Album category for his album In Colour.
Smith's musical career began in 2005 when he joined the xx accompanying old schoolmates Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Baria Qureshi of the Elliott School in London, notable for alumni including Hot Chip, Burial and Four Tet. He first used the stage name Jamie xx in July 2009 in a promotional mix for the band's début album xx released on the FACT magazine mix series. The mixtape was compiled by Jamie Smith and featured, amongst others, four tracks credited to Jamie xx – one self-production and three remixes. The xx album went on to become platinum in the UK. Afterward, Jamie Smith went on to do more remix work for artists like Florence + The Machine, Adele, Jack Peñate and Glasser.
Born Free is a 1966 British drama film starring Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers as Joy and George Adamson, a real-life couple who raised Elsa the Lioness, an orphaned lion cub, to adulthood, and released her into the wilderness of Kenya. The movie was produced by Open Road Films Ltd. and Columbia Pictures. The screenplay, written by blacklisted Hollywood writer Lester Cole (under the pseudonym "Gerald L.C. Copley"), was based upon Joy Adamson's 1960 non-fiction book Born Free. The film was directed by James Hill and produced by Sam Jaffe and Paul Radin. Born Free, and its musical score by John Barry, won numerous awards.
When George Adamson is forced to kill a lioness out of self-defense, he brings home the 3 orphaned cubs she had been trying to protect. The Adamsons tend to the three orphaned lion cubs to young lionhood, and, when the time comes, the two largest are sent to the Rotterdam Zoo, while Elsa the Lioness (the smallest of the litter) remains with Joy. When Elsa is held responsible for stampeding a herd of elephants through a village, John Kendall, Adamson's boss gives the couple three months to either rehabilitate Elsa to the wild, or send her to a zoo. Joy opposes sending Elsa to a zoo, and spends much time attempting to re-introduce Elsa to the life of a wild lion in a distant reserve. At last, Joy succeeds, and with mixed feelings and a breaking heart, she returns her friend to the wild. The Adamsons then depart for their home in England; a year later, they return to Kenya for a week, hoping to find Elsa. They do, and happily discover she hasn't forgotten them, and is the mother of three cubs.
The role of an Assistant Director on a film includes tracking daily progress against the filming production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call sheets, checking cast and crew, and maintaining order on the set. They also have to take care of the health and safety of the crew. The role of an Assistant to the Director is often confused with Assistant Director but the responsibilities are entirely different. The Assistant to the Director manages all of the Director's in development, pre-production, while on set, through post-production and is often involved in both personal management as well as creative aspects of the production process. Historically, Assistant to Director was a stepping stone to directing work; Alfred Hitchcock was an AD, as was James McTeigue. This transition into film directing is no longer common in feature films. It is more common now for an Assistant to the Director to transition to a production management or producer role than to directing. In America, an Assistant to the Director is not a unionized role, but Assistant Directors of every level require membership to the Director's Guild of America. The DGA strictly monitors and regulates employment frequency and duration, salary, and promotions of Directors and are usually completely different from the requirements of filmmaking and should not be confused.
A line producer is a type of film producer that functions as the key manager during the daily operations of a feature film, television film or an episode of a TV program. A line producer works on one film at a time. They are responsible for human resources and handling any problems that come up during production.
According to Producers Guild of America (PGA) guidelines, the Line Producer is the individual who reports directly to the individual(s) receiving "Produced By" credit on the theatrical motion picture and is the single individual who has the primary responsibility for the logistics of the production, from pre-production through completion of production; all Department Heads report to the Line Producer.<ref name=".
The line producer functions like a Chief Operations Officer in running the production shooting company. During pre-production responsibilities include supervising the assembly of the shooting company, the recruitment of key personnel and services, and the production organization for how the script is going to be shot and transformed into a movie. Start dates for everyone and everything are planned, budgeted for and implemented in the lead up to picture. It is managed on a rigorous schedule. Facilitating casting, location scouting, set building and decorating, offices and stages, wardrobe, props, stunts, physical and visual effects, camera, lighting, rigging, transportation, cast, crew and union relations, travel, cast and crew accommodation, contracting of legal permissions and agreements, safety and risk management, the prep and shooting schedule - in short the joint planning, negotiations, implementing and accounting for production - are all part of the oversight equation.

Don't forget to active the subtitles. In May 2008, the electro French duo Justice gave an interview to radio chronicler Fred Musa to answer questions about the videoclip "Stress" (2007) made by Romain Gavras and subject to great controversy due to the violent and shocking content. An in-depth interview with Greek-French filmmaker Costa-Gavras (Z, Missing). http://www.theseventhart.org Costa-Gavras is a Greek-French filmmaker who is commonly associated with thrillers concerned with political stories, though his oeuvre is much more varied in style and theme. Still perhaps best known for Z (1969) and Missing (1982), two political thrillers of the highest order, Gavras' filmography also includes a recurring interest in the holocaust (Music Box (1989) and Amen. (2003)), the media (Betrayed (1988) and Mad City (1997)), nationhood (Hanna K. (1983), Eden is West (2009)), as well as a recent interest in economic stories told with back comedy: Le Couperet (2005) and Le Capital (2012). He is currently the president of the Cinémathèque Française, a position he has held twice ...
