Russian Spetsnaz Training physical test includes:
Exercise #1: 10 regular push-ups.
Exercise #2: 10 times – in the plank position – bring your legs to his chest and bring them back.
Exercise #3: abs – lie on your back. Choose one of the following
10 time – rise up your body vertically (90 degree angle) or
10 time – bring your legs over your head or
10 time – folding in – bring together your elbows and your knees
Exercise #4: 10 times – jump from a full squat or 10 squats (5 on each leg, touching the floor with your knee).
Repeat everything 4 times (4 cycles). For the real Spetsnaz test, a soldier under age of 30 should be able to do all 4 cycles within 3 minutes.

If you want to build incredible strength you better stop overlooking the smaller but no less important muscles in your workouts. In this video, I show you how not paying attention to the strength in your wrists, hands and forearms could be preventing you from making the gains you are seeking in the gym.
I show you ways to incorporate extra work for these weak areas into muscle groups and exercises that you are already performing. If you had to spend hours extra in the gym each week to try and fix these, you likely never would. As a result, you would never be as strong as you should be.
That said, if you are training your chest you likely are doing pushups at some point. Whether you are doing them as a finishing exercise or one of the main exercises in your chest workout there is a way to change them to make them more effective for your weak wrists or hands. Simply perform them as finger tip pushups if you need to increase your hand strength or as knuckle pushups if you want to increase the strength of your wrists.
Likewise on back training day you can extend a regular pullup beyond failure to get more work for your wrists and forearms. Simply hang from the bar on your very last rep for as long as you can. You will feel the burn travel through your hands and forearms as you work to increase your muscular endurance and improve your grip for the bigger exercises.
All of these benefits apply to other muscle groups as well. We cover the extended wrist position during dumbbell laterals and the tweak that you can make to deadlifts (not using straps) that will all help to increase your hand and grip strength without compromising the amount of time that you have to spend training each week.

Is what a female friend once told me, after touching my biceps.
What a great compliment.
I did work hard for that biceps, so that comment did hurt my ego.
Now imagine how Phil Heath feels, one of the best bodybuilders in this world, when someone doesn't believe that he's truly strong.
But he still may not be the strongest person you know, especially on stage.
Strength comes in all different shapes and forms.
You may see strength as the ability to do 50 push ups, another person may see it as the ability to run a marathon and another person sees strength as the ability to lift a heavy barbell once.
All these things are completely different.
But your body is always trying to be specific.
Your body only adapts, to what it really has to.
If you can't do 50 push ups, your blood circulation might be the problem.
If you train frequently, your body only adapts the blood circulation then, nothing else.
That's why if your goal is to do 50 push ups in a row, your best training is doing push ups.
Because your body only adapts in a really specific way.
The training of a bodybuilder focuses on putting protein structures into his muscles.
A bodybuilder is trying to maximize his muscle growth.
This is what a bodybuilder gets rewarded to on stage,
the jury won't take out a blood sample and judge the winner by how healthy his blood is.
The jury judges the winner by how big his muscles are.
Health and strength are not important to the jury and therefore also not important to the competitve bodybuilder.
And muscles are only one factor of many when it comes to strength.
Yet muscles are really important to strength.
This is not a contradiction.
Imagine you're hiring people to build a house.
The employees are your muscles, the house is your strength.
The more employees you have, the easier it will be to build a house.
But if you don't have the right manager, that actually tells the people what they should do.
The manager is your brain and your nerves.
Or if the people don't have the right tools, the tools are nutrients from food.
The employees will not move you closer to building that house,
they will probably play angry birds on their phones.
There will be no house and you will not be strong.
Bodybuilders generally have a great fundament to being strong.
And most of the bodybuilders truly are, because the best way to get insanely big is by moving bigger and bigger weights over time.
And injecting tons of steroids.
I mean Ronnie Coleman has squatted 800 pounds, twice.
This is insanely strong.
But remember that being big, is not the only thing.
Bodybuilding is an extreme sport.
Most of the athletes on stage couldn't lift a chair properly.
They've pushed their body far below its limits.
This is not healthy and functional.
And therefore not great for muscle strenght.
Overall bodybuilders are for the greater part stronger than the general population.
And their muscles definitely don't consist of water.
