Little Lord Fauntleroy is the first children's novel written by English playwright and author Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was originally published as a serial in the St. Nicholas Magazine between November 1885 and October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's in 1886. The accompanying illustrations by Reginald Birch set fashion trends and Little Lord Fauntleroy also set a precedent in copyright law when in 1888 its author won a lawsuit against E. V. Seebohm over the rights to theatrical adaptations of the work.
In a shabby New York side street in the mid-1880s, young Cedric Errol lives with his mother (known only as Mrs. Errol or "Dearest") in genteel poverty after the death of his father, Captain Cedric Errol. One day, they are visited by an English lawyer named Havisham with a message from Cedric's grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt, an unruly millionaire who despises America and was very disappointed when his youngest son married an American lady. With the deaths of his father's elder brothers, Cedric has now inherited the title Lord Fauntleroy and is the heir to the earldom and a vast estate. Cedric's grandfather wants him to live in England and be educated as an English aristocrat. He offers his son's widow a house and guaranteed income, but he refuses to have anything to do with her, even after she declines his money.
Edward E. Clive (28 August 1879 – 6 June 1940) was a Welsh stage actor and director who had a prolific acting career in Britain and America. He also played numerous supporting roles in Hollywood movies between 1933 and his death.
Edward Erskholme Clive was born on 28 August 1879 in Blaenavon in Monmouthshire. Clive studied for a medical career, and had completed four years of medical studies at St Bartholomew's Hospital before switching his focus to acting at age 22. Touring the provinces for a decade, Clive became an expert at virtually every sort of regional dialect in the British Isles. He moved to the U.S. in 1912, where after working in the Orpheum vaudeville circuit he set up his own stock company in Boston. By the 1920s, his company was operating in Hollywood; among his repertory players were such up-and-comers as Rosalind Russell. He also worked at the Broadway in several plays. Clives obituary in The New York Times stated that he acted in "1,159 Legitimate Plays Before Going Into Moving Pictures".

Hobart Van Zandt Bosworth (August 11, 1867 – December 30, 1943) was an American film actor, director, writer, and producer.
He was born on August 11, 1867 in Marietta, Ohio. He was a descendant of Miles Standish and John and Priscilla Alden on his father's side and of New York's Van Zandt family, the first Dutch settlers to land in the New World, on his mother's side. Bosworth was always proud of his lineage.
After his mother died, his father remarried and young Hobart took a dislike to his stepmother. Considering himself "ill used and cruelly treated", as he told an interviewer in 1914, he ran away to New York City. There he signed on as a cabin boy aboard the Sovereign of the Seas, a clipper ship, and was soon out to sea.
After his first voyage, a five-month trip that took him from New York to San Francisco, Hobart spent his wages on candy. (Sleeping it off on a bench in the park in back of Trinity Church, the young boy didn't know when dozing off that the organ music was being played by his own uncle. A Captain Roberts, who found stevedore work for young Hobart, told him of his uncle's presence in San Francisco.) He continued as a sailor as the sea was in his family's blood, eventually spending three years at sea.

A look inside the slightly notorious (recalled) EE Power Bar and some analysis and tests to see if it is as dangerous as the media made out. In brief, a UK based mobile phone service provider made these handy power banks available with their contracts, with the novel idea that if you were caught short for power you could pop into their nearest shop and exchange your flat Power Bar for a freshly recharged one. Then there were some incidents where the Power Bars caught fire, with one incident resulting in a picture of a burned hand where the owner had woken to find the Power Bar on fire and had justifiably panicked and picked it up to get it to a safer place. The media pounced on the image and implied that all these Power Bars were dangerous and EE recalled them all. If you enjoy these v...

By far the loudest explosion I've ever had at my bench. Fortunately the iPad has managed to save you from the volume by clipping it to normal levels instantly. But it was definitely in the category of "something I should have done outdoors". The overalls I was wearing did a stellar job of deflecting the airborne debris that resulted from this experiment. Update. It was pointed out that there is an explosive shell inside that is heated by the carbon rod until it detonates and blows the thing to smithereens. That's why it sounded like a gun going off in my workshop.
