Mark Allen may refer to:
A world championship is generally an international sports competition open to elite competitors from across the world, representing their nations, and winning such an event will be considered the highest or near highest achievement in the sport or contest.
The title is usually awarded through a combination of specific contests or, less commonly, ranking systems (e.g. the ICC Test Championship), or a combination of the two (e.g. World Triathlon Championships in Triathlon). This determines a 'world champion', who or which is commonly considered the best nation, team, individual (or other entity) in the world in a particular field, although the vagaries of sport ensure that the competitor recognised at the best in an event is not always the 'world champion' (see Underdog).
Certain sports do not have a world championship, instead they may organise a world cup competition, or they may organize both. Often, the use of the term cup or championship in this sense is just a choice of words. Some sports have multiple champions because of multiple organizations such as mixed martial arts, boxing and wrestling.
John Higgins may refer to:
A single-elimination tournament — also called an Olympic system tournament, a knockout (or, knock-out), single penetration, or sudden death tournament — is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each bracket is immediately eliminated from winning the championship or first prize in the event.
This does not always mean that the defeated competitor will not participate further in the tournament; in some such tournaments, consolation or "classification" contests are subsequently held among those already defeated to determine the awarding of lesser places, for example, a third place playoff. Where more than two competitors can play in each match, such as in a shootout poker tournament, players are removed when they can no longer play until one player remains from the group. This player moves on to the next round.
Some competitions are held with a pure single-elimination tournament system. Others have many phases, with the last being a single-elimination final stage called playoffs.

Mark Allen enters a press conference with a piece of gaffer tape over his mouth in protest at what he feels is unfair criticism of his previous comments aimed at World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn. Allen feels coverage of the incident has been "blown out of proportion" and is adamant he should be entitled to his opinion regarding Hearn's decision to shorten early matches of the UK Snooker Championship from best-of-17 frames to best-of-11.

Hypnotherapist Mark Allen Frost detailed his encounters with "Seth," whom he believes is the same spirit who previously communicated with Jane Roberts. Frost traced his interaction with Seth back to 2002, when one of his hypnotherapy clients inadvertently came into contact with the entity. During a subsequent session, he tested this entity with verifiable questions and ultimately was convinced it was Seth. Based on their communications, Frost explained that the entity represents a "soul family" which has communicated with humanity throughout millennia. While Frost serves as the primary channel for the entity's messages today, he claimed that it also acts as a guide for many people, using the guise of Seth as well as in feelings such as intuition. http://www.sethreturns.com/index.html Vi...
