A hydraulic press is a device (see machine press) using a hydraulic cylinder to generate a compressive force. It uses the hydraulic equivalent of a mechanical lever, and was also known as a Bramah press after the inventor, Joseph Bramah, of England. He invented and was issued a patent on this press in 1795. As Bramah (who is also known for his development of the flush toilet) installed toilets, he studied the existing literature on the motion of fluids and put this knowledge into the development of the press.
The hydraulic press depends on Pascal's principle: the pressure throughout a closed system is constant. One part of the system is a piston acting as a pump, with a modest mechanical force acting on a small cross-sectional area; the other part is a piston with a larger area which generates a correspondingly large mechanical force. Only small-diameter tubing (which more easily resists pressure) is needed if the pump is separated from the press cylinder.
Pascal's law: Pressure on a confined fluid is transmitted undiminished and acts with equal force on equal areas and at 90 degrees to the container wall.
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock.
It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimum crystal growth. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where the chemical composition (high silica content) induces a high viscosity and polymerization degree of the lava. The inhibition of atomic diffusion through this highly viscous and polymerized lava explains the lack of crystal growth. Obsidian is hard and brittle; it therefore fractures with very sharp edges, which were used in the past in cutting and piercing tools, and it has been used experimentally as surgical scalpel blades.
The translation into English of Natural History written by the elder Pliny of Rome shows a few sentences on the subject of a volcanic glass called Obsian, so named from its resemblance to a stone (obsiānus lapis) found in Ethiopia by Obsius, a Roman explorer.

Pillars of Eternity is a computer role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. It was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux on March 26, 2015. The game is a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed game series Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, along with the game Planescape: Torment. Obsidian started a crowd funding campaign for it in September 2012 which raised $4,163,208, at the time the highest funded crowd sourced video game on Kickstarter. The game uses the Unity engine.
The game takes place in the fantasy world of Eora, mainly inside the nation of Dyrwood. The infants in Dyrwood are plagued by a recent phenomenon in which they become "hollowborn" upon birth, meaning they are born with no soul. During the beginning of the game, the protagonist experiences an awakening of power due to a disastrous supernatural event, discovering they are a "Watcher": a person who can see souls and past lives. The objective of the game is to find out what caused their awakening and how to solve the hollowborn problem.

Plot: This is a story about Paul Peters, a defense attorney responsible for the case of Professor Payne, a comic book style super villain. With his job on the line, Peters has to deal with an ego-maniacal client, superhero witnesses, and all sorts of additional chaos. It is a comedy in the vein of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, The Incredibles, and Mystery Men, and pokes fun at the super hero archetypes we've all grown up with.

Genres: Drama,In this video I crush a large obsidian crystal ball with a hydraulic press. I knew that this ball would be trouble because of how explosive glass marbles are when crushed in the hydraulic press. This explosion is huge! One reason that obsidian is so neat is because it can be used to make tools and arrowheads. After I crush the obsidian I show you how sharp it is. Unfortunately that includes filleting my knuckle! Sometimes I do dumb things, this is one instance where I was pushing the obsidian into a stick and I slipped and cut my finger pretty bad. But this is a really cool explosion in the hydraulic press! Also, there are some really funny claims by the seller of the obsidian crystal ball that I show at the end. Obsidian picture from Wikipedia: By Zuchinni one - When it was given as a gif...

Obsidian is born through an explosive and fiery eruption of a volcano, where with great power from deep within the earth, hot lava spews to the surface and quickly cools to form this natural black glass. Black obsidian stimulates personal growth on all levels by helping you find personal power from within, and like a volcano, bring that power forth to create transformation and a fertile future. You can use it for protection, guarding you against aggression and abuse, as well as utilising its sharp edges to ritually slice away hindering bonds or attachments. melting rock into lava and cooling it into obsidian
We went hunting obsidian near Milford, Utah. It turned out to be a great adventure. We found plenty of obsidian for making arrowheads and knives this winter. At least I plan to try.

I journey to Oregon to collect the jet black volcanic glass that ancient Paiutes and other tribes used for knives, spearpoints, and arrow heads for over 11,000 years. Then I hunt rabbits in the high desert with the same archery gear the ancient Northern Paiutes used: sinew backed juniper bow and reed arrows with obsidian points.
