A Guy's Perspective on Christian Modesty | How to Overcome Lust
Should Christians wear bikinis? What about makeup? What's the big deal with Christian Modesty. There seems to be a lot of double standards when it comes to christian modesty. That's why I though you would like to hear a christian guys perspective on modesty. I appreciate those who attempt to dress modestly as it can be a huge burden, but I think we're missing the boat on this subject. I don't think christian women should be penalized for the sins of their male friends. Ultimately, we as men must not rely on christian modesty to overcome lust.

As the video says men are responsible for fighting temptations and they too must dress modestly. The norms for modesty are an aid to show how much responcibility men and women have for their actions. Following the norms for modesty removes culpability. Men and Women are not required to go to EXTRAORDINARY means, but they can't just wash their hands of the situation.
Modesty is also about the dignity of the human person. Watching the documentary from start to finish before commenting would be prudent, because the video provides a very balanced message. +++
For those that claim that the Church's teaching on Modesty is oppressive or places the blame for grave evil's such as rape or other crimes on the shoulders of women... YOU ARE WRONG. Those who say that women must be covered from head to toe... YOU ARE WRONG.
The Church's standards for modesty are rational and reasonable. They don't hide a person's beauty, but they reveal their dignity. Nobody denies that wearing clothes is a good thing... The Church's standards for modesty give women & MEN a clear guide and help to safe guard a person's conscience in doing their part.
Modesty guards purity and purity guards the creative power and the dignity of the human person. Life is sacred... sex is sacred... your body is sacred. Be modest.

Basically any Ladies' stores will have something young enough looking for a teenage girl/young woman. Granted, a teen girl dressing modestly requires her to almost completely reject modern teen styles, but she will look more mature and classy wearing Misses' clothing.

Society has turned women into sexual objects. We are to glorify God in all things, we cannot do this if we do not embrace a spirit of modesty that he has called us to. We should not hinder other brothers, or sisters in the walks by dressing immodestly or inappropriately. In this video I discuss a few verses in the bible, mention a couple of articles written by other Christian sisters, and speak a bit of my thoughts on modesty. I have also included in the last five minutes a brief excerpt of Paul Washer's sermon on biblical womanhood. I call all sisters in Christ to examine their own wardrobes and ask the Holy Spirit whether or not they are wearing clothing that glorifies the father and/or does not cause anyone else to stumble in their walk. Modesty
Modesty and demureness is a mode of dress and deportment intended to avoid encouraging sexual attraction in others; actual standards vary widely. 19 Kids and Counting
19 Kids and Counting (formerly 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting), rendered graphically as 19 kids & Counting in its onscreen logo, is an American reality television show that aired on the cable channel TLC for seven years, until its cancellation in 2015. The show featured the Duggar family: parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children—nine girls and ten boys, all of whose names begin with the letter "J". During the life of the show, three of the children were married, and several grandchildren were born.
The reality show focused on the life of the Duggar family who are devout Independent Baptists, and frequently discusses values of purity, modesty, and faith in God. The Duggars avoid birth control saying they have decided to allow God to determine the number of children they have. All of the children are homeschooled, and access to entertainment, such as movies and television, is limited. They practice chaperoned courtship, where the couple gets to know each other in a group setting. The values presented on the show have been associated with the Quiverfull movement, which has been described as promoting strict family conformity, male hierarchies, and subservient roles for women. The Duggars do not self-identify as Quiverfull Christians.

A Guy's Perspective on Christian Modesty | How to Overcome Lust
Should Christians wear bikinis? What about makeup? What's the big deal with Christian Modesty. There seems to be a lot of double standards when it comes to christian modesty. That's why I though you would like to hear a christian guys perspective on modesty. I appreciate those who attempt to dress modestly as it can be a huge burden, but I think we're missing the boat on this subject. I don't think christian women should be penalized for the sins of their male friends. Ultimately, we as men must not rely on christian modesty to overcome lust.

As the video says men are responsible for fighting temptations and they too must dress modestly. The norms for modesty are an aid to show how much responcibility men and women have for their actions. Following the norms for modesty removes culpability. Men and Women are not required to go to EXTRAORDINARY means, but they can't just wash their hands of the situation.
Modesty is also about the dignity of the human person. Watching the documentary from start to finish before commenting would be prudent, because the video provides a very balanced message. +++
For those that claim that the Church's teaching on Modesty is oppressive or places the blame for grave evil's such as rape or other crimes on the shoulders of women... YOU ARE WRONG. Those who say that women must be covered from head to toe... YOU ARE WRONG.
The Church's standards for modesty are rational and reasonable. They don't hide a person's beauty, but they reveal their dignity. Nobody denies that wearing clothes is a good thing... The Church's standards for modesty give women & MEN a clear guide and help to safe guard a person's conscience in doing their part.
Modesty guards purity and purity guards the creative power and the dignity of the human person. Life is sacred... sex is sacred... your body is sacred. Be modest.

Basically any Ladies' stores will have something young enough looking for a teenage girl/young woman. Granted, a teen girl dressing modestly requires her to almost completely reject modern teen styles, but she will look more mature and classy wearing Misses' clothing.

Society has turned women into sexual objects. We are to glorify God in all things, we cannot do this if we do not embrace a spirit of modesty that he has called us to. We should not hinder other brothers, or sisters in the walks by dressing immodestly or inappropriately. In this video I discuss a few verses in the bible, mention a couple of articles written by other Christian sisters, and speak a bit of my thoughts on modesty. I have also included in the last five minutes a brief excerpt of Paul Washer's sermon on biblical womanhood. I call all sisters in Christ to examine their own wardrobes and ask the Holy Spirit whether or not they are wearing clothing that glorifies the father and/or does not cause anyone else to stumble in their walk. Love you guys, God bless!! Sorry for the few times I stuttered, will do better next time :P
