This video is a montage of an 18-video canoe building series I spent 8 months making in 2016. Watch all the videos here: https://goo.gl/624XaV THANK YOU!!! - to everyone who donated to #ripcanoe to make this possible - to people that have been watching, liking, commenting on, and sharing my videos - to all the people that helped me during the build process - to my beautiful wife for helping so much and putting up with all the sawdust Disclaimer: I don’t always follow best practices for safety (working without gloves and respirators, free-hand cutting on a tablesaw, forgetting to wear goggles). Everyone has their own risk tolerance, I’ve developed some bad habits over the years, I’ll probably end up regretting it when I get cancer at 50 or cut some fingers off. Sidewall contractor Dean Fraser shows us how to apply cedar shingles.
The pir8adventureleague channel paid us a visit and the day was filled with woodworking projects. First, a trip to a sawmill, somehow all we left with was a few board feet of walnut. A trailer-full would have made more sense. Then, a long lost project gets some loving. A piece of Juniperus virginiana, aromatic red cedar, gets processed into workable portions. The log was sectioned, then roughed into shape with a chainsaw. A joiner and planer were used to true the surfaces forming a usable cedar billet. Let us know what you would make with this wood. Also, the Canon Vixia HF M40 video camera performed wonderfully in a lighting situations for this video. Please visit http://www.usframecrew.com
The purpose of this video is to teach you a technique for creating a vintage and worn look on cedar wood. This is super easy to do and the cost is reasonable. The wood is untreated cedar fencing from a big-box store. Each piece of cedar is around $2.50. I personally used this technique to create a vintage floor prop for my newborn and child photography studio. To view the blog on how I created the floor prop, visit: http://matthewstenzel.blogspot.com/2014/04/diy-faux-vintage-floor-prop-for.html [EDIT] This video is an edit from a previous one I made which had a soundtrack (music was not mine). Everything except the soundtrack being removed, and the example photo at the end, is the same..
From the moment of birth, to the time of passing, cedar has traditionally played a vital role in the life of the First People of the Pacific Northwest. This 30min documentary tells the story of cedar, how the bark is stripped from the cedar tree and prepared for cedar weaving (hats) and discusses the art of cedar weaving and the affect this workshop had on the participants. Project was facilitated by Maria Sampson. The video was produced by Louise McMurray and the Cowichan Aboriginal Film Festival and directed, shot and edited by Phil Ives.
Hey y'all! In this video I'm searching for hidden treasures in a cedar forest. It got kinda crazy ducking all the tarantula hawks flying by and dodging the fire ant hills but I still had a lot of fun. 😊 I didn't find any crazy old coins or gold necklaces but I found a lot of cool rusty stuff that I'll use in my next art project! I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I've tried so not to give in
I said to myself this affair won't go so well
But why should I try to resist when baby I know more
than well
I've got you under my skin
I've got you under my skin
And I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear
Don't you know fool you can never win
Use your mentality wake to reality
But each time that I do
Just the thought of you makes me stop before I begin
'Cause I've got you under my skin
I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
'Cause I've got you under my skin
oooohhhh
ooohhh ooohhh
oooohhhh
ooohhh ooohhh
I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
