Matriarchy is a social system in which females hold primary power, predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of property at the specific exclusion of men, at least to a large degree. While those definitions apply in general English, definitions specific to the disciplines of anthropology and feminism differ in some respects.
Most anthropologists hold that there are no known societies that are unambiguously matriarchal, but some authors believe exceptions may exist or may have. Matriarchies may also be confused with matrilineal, matrilocal, and matrifocal societies. A few people consider any non-patriarchal system to be matriarchal, thus including genderally equalitarian systems, but most academics exclude them from matriarchies strictly defined.
In 19th century Western scholarship, the hypothesis of matriarchy representing an early, mainly prehistoric, stage of human development gained popularity. Possibilities of so-called primitive societies were cited and the hypothesis survived into the 20th century, including in the context of second-wave feminism. This hypothesis was criticized by some authors, including Camille Paglia and Cynthia Eller, and remains as a largely unsolved question to this day. Some older myths describe matriarchies. Several modern feminists have advocated for matriarchy now or in the future and it has appeared in feminist fiction. In several theologies, matriarchy has been portrayed as negative.
"The Black Dahlia" was a nickname given to Elizabeth Short (July 29, 1924 – c. January 15, 1947), an American woman who was the victim of a much-publicized murder in 1947. Short acquired the moniker posthumously from newspapers in the habit of nicknaming crimes they found particularly lurid. The "Black Dahlia" nickname may have been derived from a film noir murder mystery, The Blue Dahlia, released in April, 1946. Short was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist, on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California. Short's unsolved murder has been the source of widespread speculation, leading to many suspects, along with several books, television and film adaptations of the story. Short's murder is one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in Los Angeles history.
Short was born in Boston, the third of five daughters of Cleo and Phoebe May (Sawyer) Short. She grew up in the suburb of Medford, Massachusetts. Her father built miniature golf courses until the 1929 stock market crash, when he lost most of his money. One day in 1930, he parked his car on a bridge and was not heard from for years, leading many to presume he had committed suicide. Phoebe May Short moved her family into a small apartment in Medford and went to work as a bookkeeper to support them. It was not until a letter of apology was received that the family learned Cleo Short was still alive, and living in California.
The Black Dahlia is a nickname given to 1940s murder victim Elizabeth Short.

The Black is a rock band from Austin, Texas that formed in 2002 when singer/songwriter David Longoria began collaborating with drummer Andy Morales. The two were later joined by renowned guitarist Alan Schaefer (son of famous guitar maker Ed Schaefer) and Nick Moulos of the Austin band The Crackpipes.
The group began playing regularly at Emo's and house parties until Schaefer moved to France to teach English in 2004. Longoria joined major label act ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead during the band's hiatus, his first performance with them on the Late Show with David Letterman in January 2005. Schaefer joined the rest of the band to support Trail of Dead on their European Worlds Apart tour. During the tour Trail of Dead was the band's backing band for a handful of shows.
Their full-length album Tanglewood was recorded in 2004 and released the spring of 2005 on their own record label K Woo.
The band's next release, titled Donna, was released in the summer of 2007.
Joanne Shenandoah (born 1958, Oneida) is a singer, composer and acoustic guitarist based in the United States. She has recorded more than 15 albums and won numerous awards, including an Honorary Doctorate of Music by Syracuse University in 2002. She received a Grammy Award for her part in the album Sacred Ground: A Tribute to Mother Earth (2005), which had tracks by numerous artists.
Shenandoah is the daughter of Maisie Shenandoah, Wolf Clanmother of the Oneida Nation of New York, and the late Clifford Shenandoah, an Onondaga Nation chief. She has two sisters, Diane and Danielle. Joanne Shenandoah's voice is silvery smooth, golden rich, and milky warm. According to Shenandoah, woman of the Iroquois served as spiritual advisors, political counselors, and healers -- placed in positions to temper the aggressive nature. Matriarch is dedicated to members of Shenandoah's clan -- sisters, aunts, grandmothers. Her native language is strong on long vowels, the album is as soothing as a lullaby yet brisk with breathtaking vocal harmonies and catchy rhythms. Tom Wasinger's instrumentals on autoharp, resonating stones, bass, guitars, pianolin, and percussion cradle the lyrics as do the environmental sounds from grottoes and caverns. If you need to feel protected, nurtured, welcomed, prayed for, creative, and blessed, play this album. http://www.joanneshenandoah.com/ Track 1 K...

MATRIARCH Live At Gypsys Yauco, Puerto Rico April 29, 2006
Dreams we all have,
Some more than others,
Some and before there even born,
Aileen Wuornos was my name.
[Chorus:]
This was my case,
I never wanted it that way,
I suffered so badly,
I was really struggling to survive,
Unconsciously, I led you to any obscure path of death,
I killed were the bodies won´t leave any trace.
Memories and images around my mind,
And my evil just happens to come out,
Cause the actions that led me to this day are
The tastes of Vengeance that poisons my veins.
Thank you.
You will probably see,
I´ll be up in heaven,
While you´re rotting in hell!
And where is justice now?
[Chorus]
His body, pushing me over (and over again),
