Stephen Whittaker handles this ultra-sensitive TV film from 1993 superbly. Starring Jane Asher, Tim Woodward, Patrick Pearson and Nigel Charnock, it focusses on a woman coming to terms with the discovery of her husband's bisexuality, and being thrust into a relationship with her husband's lover who is helping care for the protracted illness of another friend who is dying of AIDS. There are some harrowing emotional scenes and sadness seems to pervade the entire film. I advise people of a weak constitution and a narrowness of mind and attitude to avoid watching this film as it touches on subjects that many viewers may find distasteful and upsetting, though anyone with a sensitive heart will find it an extremely moving and tragically sad reportage of the kind of pain and suffering many peop...
