A noun (from Latin nōmen, literally meaning "name") is a word that functions as the name of some specific thing or set of things, such as living creatures, objects, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas.Linguistically, a noun is a member of a large, open part of speech whose members can occur as the main word in the subject of a clause, the object of a verb, or the object of a preposition.
Lexical categories (parts of speech) are defined in terms of the ways in which their members combine with other kinds of expressions. The syntactic rules for nouns differ from language to language. In English, nouns are those words which can occur with articles and attributive adjectives and can function as the head of a noun phrase.
Word classes (parts of speech) were described by Sanskrit grammarians from at least the 5th century BC. In Yāska's Nirukta, the noun (nāma) is one of the four main categories of words defined.
The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nōmen. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.
Berlin Atonal is a festival for sonic and visual art founded by Dimitri Hegemann in Berlin in 1982. Since its relaunch in 2013 it is directed by Laurens von Oswald, Harry Glass and Paulo Reachi.
Originally held at SO36 in Kreuzberg, the early years of Atonal fostered revolutionary and innovative musical acts such as Psychic TV, Einstürzende Neubauten, Test Dept, 808 State, Die Haut among many others. Throughout the 1980s Berlin Atonal was at the vanguard of the progressive electronic and experimental music and art scenes in Berlin. The festival closed in 1990 with the fall of the Berlin wall as Hegemann went on to open the legendary techno club Tresor.
In 2013, Berlin Atonal was relaunched at a new location - a massive abandoned powerplant in Berlin-Mitte. Since this date the festival activates the powerplant for a week each year, featuring site-specific performances and installations, world premiere commissions and collaborations, screenings and workshops. Among the artists who have produced new work for the festival, or contributed with a specially devised project are; Cabaret Voltaire, Outside the Dream Syndicate with Tony Conrad, Jon Hassell, Glenn Branca, Moritz von Oswald, Ensemble Modern with Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians, Murcof, Monoton, Alessandro Cortini, Shackleton, David Borden, John Elliot, Cut Hands, Bruce Connor, Clock DVA, Biosphere, Donato Dozzy, Ike Yard, Tim Hecker, Pierre Bastien, In Aeternum Vale, Lustmord, Ben Frost and many others.
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is the only one whose location has not been definitively established.
The Hanging Gardens were a distinctive feature of ancient Babylon. They were a great source of pride to the people. Possibly built by King Nebuchadnezzar II in 600 BC, the gardens are believed to have been a remarkable feat of engineering: an ascending series of tiered gardens containing all manner of trees, shrubs, and vines. The gardens were said to have looked like a large green mountain constructed of mud bricks.
Traditionally they were said to have been built in the ancient city of Babylon, near present-day Hillah, Babil province, in Iraq. The Babylonian priest Berossus, writing in about 290 BC and quoted later by Josephus, attributed the gardens to the Neo-Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II, who ruled between 605 and 562 BC. There are no extant Babylonian texts which mention the gardens, and no definitive archaeological evidence has been found in Babylon.
Arnold Schoenberg or Schönberg (German: [ˈaːʁnɔlt ˈʃøːnbɛʁk]; 13 September 1874 – 13 July 1951) was an Austrian composer and painter. He was associated with the expressionist movement in German poetry and art, and leader of the Second Viennese School. With the rise of the Nazi Party, by 1938 Schoenberg's works were labelled as degenerate music because he was Jewish (Anon. 1997–2013); he moved to the United States in 1934.
Schoenberg's approach, both in terms of harmony and development, has been one of the most influential of 20th-century musical thought. Many European and American composers from at least three generations have consciously extended his thinking, whereas others have passionately reacted against it.
Schoenberg was known early in his career for simultaneously extending the traditionally opposed German Romantic styles of Brahms and Wagner. Later, his name would come to personify innovations in atonality (although Schoenberg himself detested that term) that would become the most polemical feature of 20th-century art music. In the 1920s, Schoenberg developed the twelve-tone technique, an influential compositional method of manipulating an ordered series of all twelve notes in the chromatic scale. He also coined the term developing variation and was the first modern composer to embrace ways of developing motifs without resorting to the dominance of a centralized melodic idea.

Das Buch der Hängenden Gärten (The Book of the Hanging Gardens) is a fifteen-part song cycle composed by Arnold Schoenberg between 1908 and 1909, setting poems of Stefan George. George's poems, also under the same title, track the failed love affair of two adolescent youths in a garden, ending with the woman's departure and the disintegration of the garden. The song cycle is set for solo voice and piano. The Book of the Hanging Gardens breaks away from conventional musical order through its usage of atonality. The Book of the Hanging Gardens served as the start to the atonal period in Schoenberg's music. Atonal compositions, referred to as "pantonal" by Schoenberg, typically contain features such as a lack of central tonality, pervading harmonic dissonance rather than consonance, and a ...
Yeh Duniyaa Vaale Poochenge
Mulaaqaat Hui Kyaa Baat Hui
Yeh Baat Kisise Na Kahanaa
Yeh Duniyaa Vaale Poochenge
Yeh Baat Agar Koi Puuchhe
Kyon Nain Tere Jhuk Jaate Hain
Tum Kahanaa Inaki Aadat Hai
Yeh Nain Yuunhi Sharamaate Hain
Tum Logon Se Yeh Na Kahanaa
(Saanvariyaa Se Laage Nainaa) 2
Main To Yeh Raaz Chhupaa Luungi
Tum Kaise Dil Ko Sambhaaloge
Dil Kya Tum To Divaaron Pe
Meri Tasvir Banaa Loge
Dekho Yeh Kaam Nahin Karanaa
(Mujhako Badanaam Nahin Karanaa) 2
Yeh Duniyaa Vaale Poochenge
Yeh Poochenge Vo Kaun Hai Jo
Chupake Sapanon Men Ata Hai
Yeh Poochenge Vo Kaun Hai Jo
Mere Dil Ko Tadapaataa Hai
Tum Meraa Naam Nahin Lenaa
Sar Pe Ilzaam Nahin Lenaa 2
