Woman assaulted by a man while on her Sunday jog

Police are hunting a man who struck a woman in the face on a bush track in Joondalup on Sunday.

The assault happened at about 11am as the woman was jogging on a bush track from Neil Hawkins Park towards Joondalup Drive, when she was approached by a man. 

After a brief conversation, the man hit her in the face causing minor injuries.

She was able to run from the area and seek help.

The man is described as dark skinned, 35-40 years old, approximately 180cm tall, with a chubby/stocky build, a round face, a wide flattened nose, unshaven and with straight/unkempt collar length black hair.

He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark blue baggy jeans.
