New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
Shake Shack is an American fast casual restaurant chain based in New York City. It started out as a food cart inside Madison Square Park in 2000, and its popularity steadily grew. It eventually moved to a stand within the park, expanding its menu from New York-style hamburgers to one with hamburgers, hotdogs, fries and its namesake milkshakes. The company prides itself with using 100% pure all-natural high-quality Angus beef only in their Burgers, emphasizing that its meat is completely free of hormones and antibiotics.
Since its founding it has been one of the fastest-growing food chains eventually becoming a public company filing for an initial public offering of stock in late 2014. Initial price of its shares was at $21 immediately rising by 123% to $47 on their first day of trading.
In 2000, New York City began the rebuilding of Madison Square Park, which had fallen into a state of disrepair and misuse. As part of the redevelopment, restaurateur Danny Meyer helped spearhead the creation of the Madison Square Park Conservancy to help redevelop it. One of the first things the Conservancy did in its goal to turn the park around was to host an art exhibit inside of the park to raise awareness of the renewal effort. Meyer's Director of operations, Randy Garutti, established a hot dog cart which was run out of the kitchen of Eleven Madison, one of Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) operations. Over time the cart became extremely successful, and remained in operation for nearly three years.
Arian Asllani (born December 2, 1983), better known by the stage name Action Bronson, is an American rapper and former chef. In August 2012, he signed to Warner Bros. Records, but was later moved to Atlantic Records' imprint, Vice Records.
Bronson has released several mixtapes, such as Rare Chandeliers (2012), with American hip hop producer The Alchemist and Blue Chips 2 (2013), with longtime producer Party Supplies, before releasing his major label debut, an extended play (EP) titled Saaab Stories, with frequent collaborator Harry Fraud, in 2013. He released his major label debut album, Mr. Wonderful, on March 23, 2015.
Bronson was born in Flushing, Queens, New York, the son of a Muslim Albanian immigrant father and a Jewish New Yorker mother. Before embarking on a career as a rapper, which was originally just a hobby, Bronson was a respected fire-flame gourmet chef in New York City. He hosted his own online cooking show titled Action in the Kitchen. After breaking his leg in the kitchen, Bronson concentrated solely on his music career.
Sohui Kim, chef and co-owner of Korean BBQ restaurant INSA in Gowanus, Brooklyn, takes us to all ends of New York—from Flushing to Red Hook—for a night out that is as delicious as it is fun. Two years ago, Action Bronson was approached backstage at his Paris concert by a fan who just happened to be Clovis Ochin, the top natural wine distributor in Paris. Although Bronson has been back to Paris several times since their first encounter those two nights in September, this was the first time that cameras were present to capture the magic. New York is the birthplace of many things, but for today's purposes, we're sticking to pizza. Frank starts with a quick history lesson from Scott Wiener, the owner of Scott's Pizza Tours. The Canadian seal hunt has been a controversial issue for decades. Animal rights groups clamor for its end while families in Nunavut, Newfoundland, and the Magdalen Islands are fighting to preserve their hunting traditions. The European Union and the United States have banned the sale of seal products, but in recent years there has been a surge of interest from Canada's culinary world in the sustainable harvest of wild seal meat. I am munching on an IHOP breakfast pancakes feast for today's Mukbang ASMR video. We have buttermilk pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, real maple syrup, fried eggs, hash brown, coffee, cashew milk, peanut butter, banana, sourdough toast, and butter. We are feasting!
