Finch

The true finches are small to medium-sized passerine birds in the family Fringillidae. Finches have stout conical bills adapted for eating seeds and often have colourful plumage. They occupy a great range of habitats where they are usually resident and do not migrate. They have a world-wide distribution except for Australia and the polar regions.

Many birds in other families are also commonly called "finches", including some species in the very similar-looking waxbills or estrildid finches (family Estrildidae) of the Old World tropics and Australia; several groups of the bunting and American sparrow family (Emberizidae); and the Darwin's finches of the Galapagos islands, now considered members of the tanager family (Thraupidae).

Systematics and taxonomy

The scientific name Fringillidae, comes from the Latin word fringilla for the common chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), a member of the family which is common in Europe. The name was coined by the English zoologist William Elford Leach in 1820. The Fringillidae family is divided into three subfamilies, the Fringillinae containing a single genus with the chaffinches, the Carduelinae containing 183 species divided into 49 genera, and the Euphoniinae containing the Euphonia and the Chlorophonia.

FIFA 16

FIFA 16 is an association football simulation video game developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android and iOS.

The game is the first in the FIFA series to include female players. It is also the first in which the players on the covers were chosen by popular vote, including the first women to appear on the cover. Martin Tyler and Alan Smith are the commentators for the game.

The game received generally positive reviews on its release in September 2015, with writers praising its realism.

Gameplay

FIFA 16 includes female footballers, with 12 women's national teams: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the United States. Notably missing is 2015 World Cup runner-up Japan, whose federation has a partnership with rival video game company Konami (the maker of rival soccer game franchise Pro Evolution Soccer). At the time of initial release, three modes are available for the women's teams - offline friendlies (Match Day), online friendlies and a tournament mode based on the FIFA Women's World Cup.

What It Is to Burn

What It Is to Burn is the debut album by American post-hardcore band Finch. It was produced by former Drive Like Jehu drummer Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Madina Lake, Blink-182). Daryl Palumbo from New York rock band Glassjaw makes a guest appearance on two songs, "Grey Matter" and "Project Mayhem". The first pressing of the album contained a demo version of "What It Is to Burn"—which was originally on the compilation album Welcome to the Family (2001)—instead of the re-recorded version that was on later pressings.

Reception and legacy

The album received a generally positive reception. A five star review was given by Punktastic reviewer Paul Savage, who remarks that the band "puts 110% into every single song", as well as praising the emotion and Daryl Palumbo's influence.Allmusic rated the album with 4 out of 5 stars, commenting "Finch's full-length debut is a phenomenal account of a band riding the thin line between hardcore and pop-punk while retaining a trademark sound that stands out from the crowd", as well as being an album pick. Ryan Flatley of Sputnik Music praised "Grey Matter" and "Project Mayhem" for their energy, but states that the album turned out to be a bit of a disappoinment due to the large amount of hype surrounding the release, giving it an overall 3 stars.
