A heavy metal tribute to the greatest actor ever (if you've never seen any other actors)
This story goes back more than 40 years. It's something I had to get off my chest. It's a crime I didn't say something sooner. In the world of the old magazine salesmen who travelled the country it became a way of life and operated differently from our society. "Agents" were the property of their managers and no one couldn't be duplicated which made life cheap. One day in Santa Monica, CA Fred Ward vanished. Brother Mike believes he was murdered. Hopefully someone who might have know Fred will see this and help solve the mystery of What Happened to Fred Ward?

This is from an old VHS recording of the Remo Williams TV pilot. I thought this scene was pretty cool. It never lived as a series. Probably because the movie was awesome because Fred Ward and Joel Grey did such good jobs. Most of the time, I find yellowface to be rather insulting, like David Carradine in Kung Fu stealing the part from Bruce Lee.

Kevin Bacon appeared at Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers’s screening of 1990 cult-classic, “TREMORS” on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015. The screening was presented in its original 35mm format.
“TREMORS,” was released in 1990, three years before JURASSIC PARK changed the way Hollywood considered creature FX. It is considered one of the last great all-practical monster movies. Although the film was not initially a hit, it soon become a cult favorite for its remarkably convincing herd of desert-burrowing "graboids"—giant carnivorous worms—and the gallery of likably individualistic characters they prey on. Leading the ensemble are Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as Val and Earl, handymen slackers, forced to press themselves into heroic service to protect their fellow residents of the tiny town of Perfection. With a dry, understated sense of humor and thrills aplenty, TREMORS itself is a little slice of perfection in the creature-feature genre, one that still holds up beautifully even as many subsequent CGI showcases have faded into the dust. 25 years later, it's still a must-see on the big screen!
Kevin Bacon is best known for films such as FOOTLOOSE (1984), the historical conspiracy legal thriller JFK (1991), the legal drama A FEW GOOD MEN (1992), the historical docudrama APOLLO 13 (1995), the mystery drama MYSTIC RIVER (2003) and his current release, COP CAR.

Fred Ward
Freddie Joe "Fred" Ward (born December 30, 1942) is an American character actor, producer and model. He began his film career in 1979 alongside Clint Eastwood in Escape from Alcatraz. His notable roles include Southern Comfort, The Right Stuff, Remo Williams, his self-produced movie Miami Blues, Tremors, Henry & June, The Player, Short Cuts, Big Business (1988 film), Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult, Tremors II: Aftershocks, Chain Reaction, Road Trip, Management as well as character roles in many action, drama, comedy and thriller movies. Ward also did model shootings with Lara Stone, Linda Evangelista, Dree Hemingway and Beri Smither. He also appeared in the 1998 Pirelli Calendar.
Early life
Ward was born Freddie Joe Ward in San Diego, California. He is of part Cherokee descent. Before acting, Ward spent three years in the United States Air Force. He was also a boxer (breaking his nose three times) and worked as a lumberjack in Alaska, janitor, and short-order cook. He studied acting at New York's Herbert Berghof Studio after serving in the U.S. Air Force. While living in Rome, he dubbed Italian films into English and appeared in films by neorealist director Roberto Rossellini.

Probably because the movie was awesome because Fred Ward and Joel Grey did such good jobs. Most of the time, I find yellowface to be rather insulting, like David Carradine in Kung Fu stealing the part from Bruce Lee.

“TREMORS,” was released in 1990, three years before JURASSIC PARK changed the way Hollywood considered creature FX. It is considered one of the last great all-practical monster movies. Although the film was not initially a hit, it soon become a cult favorite for its remarkably convincing herd of desert-burrowing "graboids"—giant carnivorous worms—and the gallery of likably individualistic characters they prey on. Leading the ensemble are Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as Val and Earl, handymen slackers, forced to press themselves into heroic service to protect their fellow residents of the tiny town of Perfection. With a dry, understated sense of humor and thrills aplenty, TREMORS itself is a little slice of perfection in the creature-feature genre, one that still holds up beautifully even as many subsequent CGI showcases have faded into the dust. 25 years later, it's still a must-see on the big screen!

This little gem of a movie only ever saw release on videotape. It stars Fred Ward as Howard Phillip Lovecraft, a detective in an alternate reality noir-era 1948 San Francisco where the occult and magic use is commonplace. He has to help Julianne Moore as the femme fatale uncover the secret plan of David Warner. An homage to all things Lovecraft, this movie deserves a DVD or Blu-Ray release. I will remove this upload if this piece of content gets reissued in a commercially available form. Until then, enjoy!

C'était prévu pour être le premier opus d'une franchise, mais malheureusement le peu de succès du film, malgré ses nombreuses qualités, stoppa net les élans cinématographiques de notre héros si téméraire.
Néanmoins, en 1988, ABC passa commande d'un pilote pour une série racontant les aventures de Remo, et avec les autres personnages principaux du film.
Ce pilote, rare, intitulé "The Prophecy", n'eut pas non plus le succès escompté, les ennemis de Remo étant apparemment bien plus dangereux derrière l'écran que confrontés à lui dans l'écran ! Remo reprit donc des vacances forcées... et définitives jusqu'à présent !
Si les personnages principaux du film initial sont toujours là, les acteurs eux sont tous remplacés !
Ainsi Jeffrey Meek (qui sera plus tard le héros de la série "Raven" aux côtés de Lee Majors) remplace Fred Ward dans le rôle de Remo Williams.
Roddy McDowall prend la place de Joel Grey pour incarner Chiun, et aussi étrange que ce choix puisse paraître, il parvient le tour le force d'être incroyablement crédible en mentor asiatique.
Et Stephen Elliott prend la relève de Wilford Brimley pour interpréter Harold Smith.
Sans être génial, ce pilote n'a vraiment rien de honteux, et laissait présager une série très divertissante après quelques ajustements.
Rappelons que cela n'aurait pas été la première série à commencer de façon contestable ("Fringe" par exemple), voire désastreuse ("Star Trek: La Nouvelle Génération" / "Star Trek: The Next Generation"), pour devenir une référence absolue en termes de qualité et d'inventivité !
On ne saura malheureusement jamais si ça aurait été le cas de cette série avortée...

Si les personnages principaux du film initial sont toujours là, les acteurs eux sont tous remplacés !
Ainsi Jeffrey Meek (qui sera plus tard le héros de la série "Raven" aux côtés de Lee Majors) remplace Fred Ward dans le rôle de Remo Williams.
Roddy McDowall prend la place de Joel Grey pour incarner Chiun, et aussi étrange que ce choix puisse paraître, il parvient le tour le force d'être incroyablement crédible en mentor asiatique.
Et Stephen Elliott prend la relève de Wilford Brimley pour interpréter Harold Smith.
Sans être génial, ce pilote n'a vraiment rien de honteux, et laissait présager une série très divertissante après quelques ajustements.
Rappelons que cela n'aurait pas été la première série à commencer de façon contestable ("Fringe" par exemple), voire désastreuse ("Star Trek: La Nouvelle Génération" / "Star Trek: The Next Generation"), pour devenir une référence absolue en termes de qualité et d'inventivité !
On ne saura malheureusement jamais si ça aurait été le cas de cette série avortée...

WHAT HAPPENED TO FRED WARD?
This story goes back more than 40 years. It's something I had to get off my chest. It's a crime I didn't say something sooner. In the world of the old magazine salesmen who travelled the country it became a way of life and operated differently from our society. "Agents" were the property of their managers and no one couldn't be duplicated which made life cheap. One day in Santa Monica, CA Fred Ward vanished. Brother Mike believes he was murdered. Hopefully someone who might have know Fred will see this and help solve the mystery of What Happened to Fred Ward?

Remo Williams Pilot Golf Scene
This is from an old VHS recording of the Remo Williams TV pilot. I thought this scene was pretty cool. It never lived as a series. Probably because the movie was awesome because Fred Ward and Joel Grey did such good jobs. Most of the time, I find yellowface to be rather insulting, like David Carradine in Kung Fu stealing the part from Bruce Lee.

"Agents" were the property of their managers and no one couldn't be duplicated which made life cheap. One day in Santa Monica, CA Fred Ward vanished. Brother Mike believes he was murdered. Hopefully someone who might have know Fred will see this and help solve the mystery of What Happened to Fred Ward?

Most of the time, I find yellowface to be rather insulting, like David Carradine in Kung Fu stealing the part from Bruce Lee.

Although the film was not initially a hit, it soon become a cult favorite for its remarkably convincing herd of desert-burrowing "graboids"—giant carnivorous worms—and the gallery of likably individualistic characters they prey on. Leading the ensemble are Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as Val and Earl, handymen slackers, forced to press themselves into heroic service to protect their fellow residents of the tiny town of Perfection. With a dry, understated sense of humor and thrills aplenty, TREMORS itself is a little slice of perfection in the creature-feature genre, one that still holds up beautifully even as many subsequent CGI showcases have faded into the dust. 25 years later, it's still a must-see on the big screen!

It stars Fred Ward as Howard Phillip Lovecraft, a detective in an alternate reality noir-era 1948 San Francisco where the occult and magic use is commonplace. He has to help Julianne Moore as the femme fatale uncover the secret plan of David Warner. An homage to all things Lovecraft, this movie deserves a DVD or Blu-Ray release. La célèbre série de roman "The Destroyer" ("L'Implacable" en France) de Richard Sapir et Warren Murphy avait été adaptée aux USA en 1985 avec l'excellent Fred Ward dans le rôle-titre: "Remo: Sans Arme et Dangereux" (Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins).
C'était prévu pour être le premier opus d'une franchise, mais malheureusement le peu de succès du film, malgré ses nombreuses qualités, stoppa net les élans cinématographiques de notre héros si téméraire.
Néanmoins, en 1988, ABC passa commande d'un pilote pour une série racontant les aventures de Remo, et avec les autres personnages principaux du film.
Ce pilote, rare, intitulé "The Prophecy", n'eut pas non plus le succès escompté, les ennemis de Remo étant apparemment bien plus dangereux derrière l'écran que confrontés à lui dans l'écran ! Remo reprit donc des vacances forcées... et définitives jusqu'à présent !
Si les personnages principaux du film initial sont toujours là, les acteurs eux sont tous remplacés !
Ainsi Jeffrey Meek (qui sera plus tard le héros de la série "Raven" aux côtés de Lee Majors) remplace Fred Ward dans le rôle de Remo Williams.

La célèbre série de roman "The Destroyer" ("L'Implacable" en France) de Richard Sapir et Warren Murphy avait été adaptée aux USA en 1985 avec l'excellent Fred Ward dans le rôle-titre: "Remo: Sans Arme et Dangereux" (Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins).
C'était prévu pour être le premier opus d'une franchise, mais malheureusement le peu de succès du film, malgré ses nombreuses qualités, stoppa net les élans cinématographiques de notre héros si téméraire.
Néanmoins, en 1988, ABC passa commande d'un pilote pour une série racontant les aventures de Remo, et avec les autres personnages principaux du film.
Ce pilote, rare, intitulé "The Prophecy", n'eut pas non plus le succès escompté, les ennemis de Remo étant apparemment bien plus dangereux derrière l'écran que confrontés à lui dans l'écran ! Remo reprit donc des vacances forcées... et définitives jusqu'à présent !
Si les personnages principaux du film initial sont toujours là, les acteurs eux sont tous remplacés !
Ainsi Jeffrey Meek (qui sera plus tard le héros de la série "Raven" aux côtés de Lee Majors) remplace Fred Ward dans le rôle de Remo Williams.
