It is probably no surprise that the biggest ports in the world are all located in China. Over the years, Singapore was known as the world's largest container port. Few things traveled throughout Asia without stopping at some point in Singapore. Today, that seaport has been overtaken by Shanghai for some two years now. Mainland China ports account for 70% of the top 10 ports in the world. The U.S. is way down the list. Here's how they rank over the years, according to data from the World Shipping Council.

However, it seems that the island is more dangerous than local tourism officials like to admit. As the British Government states, “there have been incidents of crime including murder, armed robbery and sexual assault”. The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) is a network of the world's megacities taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. C40 harnesses the assets of member cities to address climate risks and impacts locally and globally.
C40 is composed of 83 member cities around the world. On November 26, the former C40 Chair, the 108th Mayor of New York City, Michael R. Bloomberg, was succeeded by the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes. Mayor Bloomberg served as the elected leader of the organization from 2010 – 2013, he will stay on as the President of the C40 Board of Directors. Along with the Chair, a rotating steering committee of C40 mayors provides strategic direction and governance. David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a Kenyan wildlife conservation charity founded in 1977 in memory of David Sheldrick by his widow Daphne Sheldrick. It assists and advises the Kenya Wildlife Service and manages an orphanage for elephants and rhinos. This trust is reintegrating orphaned elephants back into the Kenyan wildlife, and is a World Elephant Day associate.
The trust recently released a video on its YouTube channel, celebrating their 100,000th fan on Facebook.

The magical character of each object is accompanied with a little story, almost completely concealing the existence of technical components such as speakers or sensors. Only small connection ports as well as the uniform black finishing point to their unusual abilities.
Processing is used for recording live audio input, modifying the playback and generating digital sound according to sensor data.
In form and functionality all these exhibits pursue John Maeda’s „Simplicity“. They are enjoying to use, they are surprising and one wants to explore and investigate them.

At the current rate of Elephants being slaughtered for their tusks to make 'Ivory'- it is forecasted that we could see the end of wild elephants across Africa in less than a decade. WILD is a film about the life of Elephants behind the Ivory Trade and Poaching Crisis in Kenya. What is happening to these keepers of the earth, what happens to the earth when there are no more keepers, and what is being done to protect the lives of these magical sentient beings. We hear from Julius- an elephant keeper at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust orphan's nursery in Nairobi, Nick Trent- DSWT's pilot working together with The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) in Kenya's massive Tsavo National Park and the many elephants that have taken refuge at the DSWT as they physically and emotionally rehabilitate to return to the wild where the land has become a battlefield between man and nature.
The time to act is now - and there is so much we can do.
Begin by getting involved here: iWorry.org. A campaign of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT)
iWorry is organizing marches around the world to urge world leaders to stop poaching, stop the trade and stop the demand. It is time for a COMPLETE BAN on the international and domestic trade in ivory. It is time to invest more resources into wildlife protection at a field level, to strengthen penalties for those involved in the ivory trade, to heighten security at ports and borders and to invest in educational efforts to stop the demand for ivory.
You can help too by donating online to support the orphans rehabilitation process and the anti-poaching efforts of DSWT. This is the beginning of restoring our connection to our home- the earth- and maintaining a safe wilderness for elephants to survive.

Eight Solutions to Address Climate Change is a fully web-based interactive 3D infographic built in WebGL. Our concept was to create the experience of exploring an idealistic fully green city by bringing together case studies and best practices from megacities around the world into a single city block. The eight case study solution examples represent each of the C40 Cities target sectors: buildings, energy, lighting, ports, renewables, transportation, waste and water to demonstrate the variety of ways cities can take decisive action to reduce carbon emissions.
We designed our city in 3D using Cinema 4D in a bright cell-shaded style that complements the future-thinking, optimistic message of the C40 and fits neatly into the overall design and branding system we created for C40.org. Visitors to the site can learn about some of the problems cities confront in going green by hovering over the various elements in the exploded city block. Clicking a problem zooms in to an animated explanation of the actions the cities took to achieve the greener solution.
To bring the whole experience to life in the web browser, we utilized WebGL — an extension of Javascript that allows us to generate 3D graphics in most modern web browsers without any extra plug-ins or Flash. The Cinema 4D elements were exported to Three.js using a custom Python script that dug into the C4D API and converted both the geometry and UV texturing into a format that Three.js could render. Once we were able to successfully export the models, the assets were assembled into a scene and animated within the three.js framework using tween.js library.

The Pilbara Project is a forum created by FORM for the use of everyone that has an experience or story to tell about Western Australia's Pilbara region. It has been setup to nurture and stimulate the creativity of the people who live in or pass through this vast land.
The Pilbara is the engine room of the Australian economy and is rich in Iron Ore which is exported to the world through the ports of Dampier and Port Hedland. It is also a spectacular part of Australia equal in beauty to The Kimberley.
I was asked to document the ongoing journey of four amazing photographers, Christian Fletcher, Tony Hewitt, Les Walkling, and Peter Eastway, as they travel this remote land capturing it's hidden treasures for all to see.
This project is ongoing and will continue until all of the Pilbara has been captured. To follow our progress visit www.thepilbaraproject.com but dont just be a passive onlooker. Get out there and experience first hand what is truly an amazing part of the world.

Few things traveled throughout Asia without stopping at some point in Singapore. Today, that seaport has been overtaken by Shanghai for some two years now. The waters of the coast of Somalia are so dangerous, that ship captains allegedly turn off the exterior lights and also the GPS broadcasts while sailing in the area. Tourists that step off the cruise ship in Nassau are vulnerable to armed robberies, sexual assault, murders and drug trafficking. “We receive more complaints about crime in Nassau than all of the other ports in the Caribbean combined”, reportedly stated Jim Walker, a Maritime Lawyer who has investigated the most dangerous ports of call for travelers. WILD is a film about the life of Elephants behind the Ivory Trade and Poaching Crisis in Kenya. What is happening to these keepers of the earth, what happens to the earth when there are no more keepers, and what is being done to protect the lives of these magical sentient beings. We hear from Julius- an elephant keeper at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust orphan's nursery in Nairobi, Nick Trent- DSWT's pilot working together with The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) in Kenya's massive Tsavo National Park and the many elephants that have taken refuge at the DSWT as they physically and emotionally rehabilitate to return to the wild where the land has become a battlefield between man and nature.
The time to act is now - and there is so much we can do.

iWorry is organizing marches around the world to urge world leaders to stop poaching, stop the trade and stop the demand. It is time for a COMPLETE BAN on the international and domestic trade in ivory. It is time to invest more resources into wildlife protection at a field level, to strengthen penalties for those involved in the ivory trade, to heighten security at ports and borders and to invest in educational efforts to stop the demand for ivory.
You can help too by donating online to support the orphans rehabilitation process and the anti-poaching efforts of DSWT. This is the beginning of restoring our connection to our home- the earth- and maintaining a safe wilderness for elephants to survive.

Eight Solutions to Address Climate Change is a fully web-based interactive 3D infographic built in WebGL. Our concept was to create the experience of exploring an idealistic fully green city by bringing together case studies and best practices from megacities around the world into a single city block. The eight case study solution examples represent each of the C40 Cities target sectors: buildings, energy, lighting, ports, renewables, transportation, waste and water to demonstrate the variety of ways cities can take decisive action to reduce carbon emissions.
We designed our city in 3D using Cinema 4D in a bright cell-shaded style that complements the future-thinking, optimistic message of the C40 and fits neatly into the overall design and branding system we created for C40.org. Visitors to the site can learn about some of the problems cities confront in going green by hovering over the various elements in the exploded city block. Clicking a problem zooms in to an animated explanation of the actions the cities took to achieve the greener solution.
To bring the whole experience to life in the web browser, we utilized WebGL — an extension of Javascript that allows us to generate 3D graphics in most modern web browsers without any extra plug-ins or Flash. The Cinema 4D elements were exported to Three.js using a custom Python script that dug into the C4D API and converted both the geometry and UV texturing into a format that Three.js could render. Once we were able to successfully export the models, the assets were assembled into a scene and animated within the three.js framework using tween.js library.

Des changements climatiques inquiétants, un développement irraisonné des infrastructures et des modifications de l’environnement littoral en sont la cause : montée du niveau de la mer, phénomènes météorologiques extrêmes, bétonnage excessif des plages, extension de ports, pillage du sable marin mettent en danger les bancs de sables et menacent nos plages.
Petit à petit, sans le savoir, nous faisons disparaitre ce que nous aimons le plus. Les plages ne sont pas éternelles, nous devons les protéger.
Surfrider Foundation mène des actions de lobby pour faire pression sur les institutions locales, nationales et européennes. The Pilbara Project is a forum created by FORM for the use of everyone that has an experience or story to tell about Western Australia's Pilbara region. It has been setup to nurture and stimulate the creativity of the people who live in or pass through this vast land.
The Pilbara is the engine room of the Australian economy and is rich in Iron Ore which is exported to the world through the ports of Dampier and Port Hedland. It is also a spectacular part of Australia equal in beauty to The Kimberley.
