Never Ending Tour

The Never Ending Tour is the popular name for Bob Dylan's endless touring schedule since June 7, 1988.

During the course of the tour, musicians have come and gone and the band has continued to evolve. They have amassed a huge fan base; some fans have traveled around the world to attend as many Dylan shows as possible.

According to the count maintained by Olof Björner's Dylan website Still On The Road, Dylan played his 2,000th show of the Never Ending Tour on October 16, 2007, in Dayton, Ohio. Dylan has attributed much of the versatility of his live shows to the talent of his backing band, with whom he recorded the albums Love and Theft (2001), Modern Times (2006), Together Through Life (2009), Christmas in the Heart (2009), Tempest (2012) and Shadows in the Night (2015).

Name

The tour's name was cemented when journalist Adrian Deevoy published his interview with Dylan in Q Magazine no.39, December 1989. The critic Michael Gray listened to Deevoy's interview tape, and points out in The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia that though Deevoy's article put the phrase into Dylan's mouth, in fact the label came from Deevoy in the following exchange:

The Never Ending

The Never Ending (stylized as THΞ ΠΞvΞR ΞΠDIΠG) is an American indie rock and folk band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2012. The band consists of vocalist Debby Ryan, guitarist Kyle Moore, and drummer Johnny Franco.

Career

2012–14: Formation and One

The Never Ending was formed in 2012, but only made their existence public in 2013. Ryan began writing and developing songs for the band's debut album in November of 2013, and the band was officially announced on December 4th with a video teaser on YouTube. It contained the message: "I want you to meet the people I tell stories with. To me, telling these stories with these people is the most important part of the process. We get to do something that will live on after us. we get to do something never ending".

Ryan announced and released the lyrics for the band's first song, "When the Dark Falls", on her website on the 21st of April, 2014. A video teaser for the band's second song, "Call Me Up", followed several days later. On May 7, the video teaser for the aforementioned "When The Darkness Falls" was released. Ryan announced the debut single, "Mulholland Drive", on June 1st, 2014. On June 3 the song was released with a premiere in the Billboard website. The Never Ending's debut EP One was released on June 24th, 2014, featuring album art from a circus-themed photoshoot they'd done in March 2014.

The Never is a Chapel Hill-based indie band. They have released two albums, both of which include both folk metal and R&B sensibilities. They have toured throughout the South and the East Coast of the U.S. and have performed with both Rilo Kiley and R.E.M.. Many of the songs on their latest album, Antarctica, deal with environmental issues, a band trait accentuated by their use of tour vehicles that are fueled by vegetable oil and biodiesel.

Early years

The Never began as a high school project-turned-successful-band called The B-Sides, composed of founding members Noah Smith and Ari Picker, as well as keyboardist Travis Horton, drummer Eric Kuhn, and bassist Ken Mosher, formerly of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Their full length album Yes, Indeed, the B-Sides, Quite! was self-released in 2001 and became North Carolina's best-selling independent release for that year. When line-up changes left Smith and Picker as the only remaining original members, and with the addition of the brothers Jonny and Joah Tunnel of Vibrant Green, the band's name was changed to The Never.
