The summer of 1980 saw the release of this hugely popular coming of age comic drama "Little Darlings'. The film showcased the talents of Academy Award Winning actress Tatum O'Neal ("Paper Moon") and inparticular Kristy McNichol (of television's "Family"), who turns in a particularly remarkable performance. Two girls one rich Ferris Whitney (Tatum O'Neal), and the other streetwise Aggel Bright (Kristy McNichol), strike a bet while away at summer camp. Whoever loses their virginity first......wins $100.00. Matt Dillon (in his second big screen role), plays McNichol's love interest. Armand Assante plays a counselor and the target of O'Neal's. Music rights are most likely the culprit in the failure of this rare film's release on DVD. It remains up in the air as to if and when this will ever be released. Look for a very young Cynthia Nixon from "Sex in the City" as "Sunshine" the teenage hippie with the long blonde hair. I hope you enjoy this tribute to "Little Darlings".

Synopsis:- A cabaret dancer and singer, Sheela (Zeenat Aman) has two admirers: a small-time thief Rajesh (Feroz Khan), and a young, eligible widower, Amar (Vinod Khanna). Both are best friends and does not know that they love the same woman. Then an enemy in the gust of Vikram Singh (Shakti Kapoor) appears and make both men life miserable by exposing each others reality to one another, hereafter Rajesh and Amar's friendship turn upside down. Rajesh is blamed for Rakka's (Amrish Puri) death and is schedule to be jailed for a lifetime. While Amar along with Sheela and his small daughter escapes to the U.K. with a lot of diamonds and money stolen by Rajesh. Will Rajesh allow Amar to betray him or will he jumped to conclusion and escapes from the police to take revenge from his perpetrators...

The first film to be released in the decade of the 1980's was the highly controversial "Windows". It starred Talia Shire (of "Rocky" and "The Godfather" fame) and Elizabeth Ashley. Directed by Gordon Willis; the Academy Award winning cinematographer of "The Godfather", the film promised to be an interesting one. Surrounded by controversy due to the portrayal of the lesbian character in the film, and also for the violence at the beginning (during the rape scene), the film garnered some of the worst reviews in the history of cinema. It's actually a pretty good, though somewhat disturbing thriller with excellent shots of New York and superb cinematography.

In 1979 one of romance novelist Danielle Steele's best sellers was brought to the screen (and into our hearts). The story of a woman (Kathleen Quinlan of "Apollo 13") and her boyfriend (Stephen Collins of "7th Heaven") who hit tragedy head on add an evil mother-in-law (Beatrice Straight) and you have the making of a three hankie weeper. A Beautiful theme song sung by Melissa Manchester highlights the film. The film opened at the Radio City Music Hall in New York in March of 1979 and has the distinction of being the very last film to play with a stage show after a long tradition at the theatre. I hope you enjoy this tribute.

"The Promise"~ A 10 Minute Tribute To The 1979 Film ~ Starring Stephen Collins & Kathleen Quinlan
In 1979 one of romance novelist Danielle Steele's best sellers was brought to the screen (and into our hearts). The story of a woman (Kathleen Quinlan of "Apollo 13") and her boyfriend (Stephen Collins of "7th Heaven") who hit tragedy head on add an evil mother-in-law (Beatrice Straight) and you have the making of a three hankie weeper. A Beautiful theme song sung by Melissa Manchester highlights the film. The film opened at the Radio City Music Hall in New York in March of 1979 and has the distinction of being the very last film to play with a stage show after a long tradition at the theatre. I hope you enjoy this tribute.

The film showcased the talents of Academy Award Winning actress Tatum O'Neal ("Paper Moon") and inparticular Kristy McNichol (of television's "Family"), who turns in a particularly remarkable performance. Two girls one rich Ferris Whitney (Tatum O'Neal), and the other streetwise Aggel Bright (Kristy McNichol), strike a bet while away at summer camp. Whoever loses their virginity first......wins $100.00. Matt Dillon (in his second big screen role), plays McNichol's love interest. Armand Assante plays a counselor and the target of O'Neal's. Music rights are most likely the culprit in the failure of this rare film's release on DVD. It remains up in the air as to if and when this will ever be released. Then an enemy in the gust of Vikram Singh (Shakti Kapoor) appears and make both men life miserable by exposing each others reality to one another, hereafter Rajesh and Amar's friendship turn upside down. Rajesh is blamed for Rakka's (Amrish Puri) death and is schedule to be jailed for a lifetime. While Amar along with Sheela and his small daughter escapes to the U.K. with a lot of diamonds and money stolen by Rajesh. Will Rajesh allow Amar to betray him or will he jumped to conclusion and escapes from the police to take revenge from his perpetrators...

The first film to be released in the decade of the 1980's was the highly controversial "Windows". It starred Talia Shire (of "Rocky" and "The Godfather" fame) and Elizabeth Ashley. Directed by Gordon Willis; the Academy Award winning cinematographer of "The Godfather", the film promised to be an interesting one. Surrounded by controversy due to the portrayal of the lesbian character in the film, and also for the violence at the beginning (during the rape scene), the film garnered some of the worst reviews in the history of cinema. It's actually a pretty good, though somewhat disturbing thriller with excellent shots of New York and superb cinematography.
