Win (film)

Win is a romance thriller trilingual film directed in three languages Hindi, Telugu & Tamil and written by Vinod Kumar assisisted by Sudarshanan. Director Vinod Kumar is making his first directorial debut. The film will be released under the banner of Rahmath Productions in Telugu & Jai Balaji Movie Makers in Tamil. The film will feature Jai Akash alongside Angel Jitendra, Kavya, Nikita, Kousalya, Dinesh Nair, S. Ve. Sheker, Ganja Karuppu, and various others. Background score and soundtrack are composed by U. K. Murali audio is released in Telugu on 28 March 2013. For the first time ever we have three music directors Shankar Ganesh, Deva, A. R. Reihana singing a song together for another music composer for this film. Shooting for the film will be finished October 2013, and post-production works are also currently going on at Chennai & Hyderabad.

Win (band)

Win were a Scottish pop band from the 1980s.

After the dissolution of The Fire Engines, Davy Henderson formed Win with Ian Stoddart (Bass), ex-Fire Engine Russell Burn (Drums/Keyboards), Emmanuel "Mani" Shoniwa (Guitar/Bass), Simon Smeeton (Guitar/Bass) and Willie Perry (Keyboards) in 1983. A more determinedly pop act than The Fire Engines, they were commercially successful in Scotland, partly due to their single "You've Got the Power" being used in a lager advertising campaign for Scottish brewers McEwan's. But they were unable to translate that into more widespread success and break through further afield. They released two albums and disbanded in 1990. Henderson went to working with his new band The Nectarine No. 9, releasing records on the revived Postcard label, Creeping Bent and Beggars' Banquet, later worked with The Sexual Objects. Willie Perry and Ian Stoddart went on to form The Apples with Callum McNair. Mani Shoniwa formed Yoyo Honey, releasing the album Voodoo Soul in 1992.

.270 Winchester

The .270 Winchester (or 6.9x64mm) was developed by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1923 and unveiled in 1925 as a chambering for their bolt-action Model 54. The cartridge is a necked down .30-03.

When loaded with a bullet that expands rapidly or fragments in tissue, this cartridge delivers devastating terminal performance.

Description

The .270 Winchester became a very popular deer and elk cartridge due to the widespread praises of gunwriter Jack O'Connor who used the cartridge for 40 years and espoused its merits in the pages of Outdoor Life. It drives an 8.4 grams (130 gr) bullet at approximately 960 m/s (3,140 ft/s), later reduced to 930 m/s (3,060 ft/s). The cartridge demonstrated high performance at the time of its introduction and was marketed as being suitable for big game shooting in the 370 to 910 metres (400 to 1,000 yd) range. Two additional bullet weights were soon introduced: a 6.5 grams (100 gr) hollow-point bullet for varmint shooting, and a 9.7 grams (150 gr) bullet for larger deer, elk and moose in big-game hunting.

Name

The company was originally named Seikikōgaku kenkyūsho (jpn. 精機光学研究所, Precision Optical Industry Co. Ltd.). In 1934 it produced the Kwanon, a prototype for Japan’s first-ever 35 mm camera with a focal plane based shutter. In 1947 the company name was changed to Canon Camera Co., Inc., shortened to Canon Inc. in 1969. The name Canon comes from Buddhist bodhisattva Guan Yin (観音, Kannon in Japanese), previously transliterated as Kuanyin, Kwannon, or Kwanon in English.

Canon (priest)

A canon (from the Latin canonicus, itself derived from the Greek κανονικός, kanonikós, "relating to a rule", "regular") is a member of certain bodies subject to an ecclesiastical rule.

Originally, a canon was a cleric living with others in a clergy house or, later, in one of the houses within the precinct of or close to a cathedral and conducting his life according to the orders or rules of the church. This way of life grew common (and is first documented) in the eighth century. In the eleventh century, some churches required clergy thus living together to adopt the rule first proposed by Saint Augustine that they renounce private wealth. Those who embraced this change were known as Augustinians or Canons Regular, whilst those who did not were known as secular canons.

Secular canons

In the Roman Catholic Church, the members of the chapter of a cathedral (cathedral chapter) or of a collegiate church (so called after their chapter) are canons. Depending on the title of the church, several languages use specific titles, e.g., in German Domherr or Domkapitular in a Dom (i.e., cathedral), Stiftsherr in a prelature that has the status of a Stift (notably under a prince of the Church).

Canon (album)

Canon is a retrospective album by Ani DiFranco which was released on September 11, 2007. It contains songs covering her career to date. DiFranco re-recorded five songs that had been previously released: "Both Hands", "Overlap", "Napoleon", "Shameless" and "Your Next Bold Move".

The album spans from DiFranco's first studio album, Ani DiFranco, released in 1990, to her then most recent, Reprieve, which was released in 2006. DiFranco personally selected the songs that appear on Canon.
