Underwater refers to the region below the surface of water where the water exists in a natural feature (called a body of water) such as an ocean, sea, lake, pond, or river.
Three quarters of the planet Earth is covered by water. A majority of the planet's solid surface is abyssal plain, at depths between 4,000 and 5,500 metres (13,100 and 18,000 ft) below the surface of the oceans. The solid surface location on the planet closest to the centre of the orb is the Challenger Deep, located in the Mariana Trench at a depth of 10,924 metres (35,840 ft). Although a number of human activities are conducted underwater—such as research, scuba diving for work or recreation, or even underwater warfare with submarines, this very extensive environment on planet Earth is hostile to humans in many ways and therefore little explored. But it can be explored by sonar, or more directly via manned or autonomous submersibles. The ocean floors have been surveyed via sonar to at least a coarse resolution; particularly-strategic areas have been mapped in detail, in the name of detecting enemy submarines, or aiding friendly ones, though the resulting maps may still be classified.

The PowerShot products are a line of consumer and prosumer grade digital cameras, launched by Canon in 1996. The PowerShot line has been successful for Canon, and is one of the best-selling digital camera lines worldwide.
Free software from the Canon Hack Development Kit (CHDK) project allows nearly complete programmatic control of PowerShot cameras, enabling users to add features, up to and including BASIC & Lua scripting.
Some models of PowerShot cameras were affected by third-party CCD sensors with a design flaw, which caused them to fail and display severely distorted images. Canon offered to repair affected cameras free of charge.

These are my best shots from Great Barrier Reef with Canon G15 underwater mode. Actually I didn't expect that works, color and light are extremely beautiful. I have to thank to Ben and Kori cause of their suggestion. We stayed at Kangaroo Explorer Boat in Great Barrier Reef Australia for 2 nights and 3 days. Thank you for all divers and CDC staff. We spent really good time in Australia.
Canon Powershot D30 Underwater Camera Review With already such great imaging in the latest digital cameras, I review this mainly to show its practicality. Normally we have to use huge, expensive underwater cases - but the powershot D30 with 25m depth rating finally makes it possible to forgo underwater housings. I took this camera down to 25m multiple times with absolutely no issues. The quality of the stills were perfect for what it is. The powershot D30 is obviously not a solution for hardcore scuba photography guys who are taking professional photos at depth - but for the rest of us looking for responsible depth and practicality - this camera comes highly recommended. With optical image stabilization its easy to get great shots Support Me! Help fund new videos Patreon ► htt...

I got a chance to take the Canon G7X and the Sony RX100 III underwater for a head to head video test. Read the full comparison here: http://mozuw.com/RX100IIIVSG7X Videos were taken in the Red Sea with the Canon G7X and the Sony RX100III, both with Fantasea housings + RedEye red filters. In my opinion both cameras are fantastic and create excellent results, both with video and stills. I found the G7X sharper on the corners thanks to the larger red filter, but both results are fairly similar. Focusing was quicker and more accurate with the RX100 III but colors were slightly better out of the camera with the G7X. For more samples and test go to our blog on the link above.
