I have an opportunity to get a DVD of a 35mm print of The Fabulous Protectress, never on DVD, widescreen with English subs. I need 60 orders of $30 plus shipping so that I can acquire it. the Collector wants a lot for it. I think, too much ($1500!) and I will have to do a lot of labor to get these out and cover my costs. I try to supply as much cool, free rare movie content, but on the flip side, my stuff that I custom sub is being copied and sold by video bootleggers. Another of the transition films from Golden Harvest, including a few stars from Cathay, a Director from Shaw Brothers and Lo Wei. Nora Miao was being groomed as an action star, then Bruce Lee, and really, Chang Cheh as well, took the martial arts film into a very macho direction with stars like Ti Lung, Chen Kuan Tai and so on. Patrick Tse Yin could swing a sword I suppose, but he wisely moved over to melodramas, which sold just as many tickets, it's just that he is unknown to western viewers. Still, an decent action flick. If his right hand man looks familiar, he is the star of Iron Bones, which you can find on my site.

Shaw Brothers (HK) Ltd. (Chinese: 邵氏兄弟（香港）有限公司) was the largest film production company of Hong Kong.
In 1925, the three Shaw brothers—Runje, Runme, and Runde—founded Tianyi Film Company (also called Unique) in Shanghai, then established a film distribution base in Singapore where Runme and the youngest brother Run Run Shaw managed the precursor to the parent company Shaw Organization. Shaw Brothers took over the film production business of its Hong Kong-based sister company, Shaw & Sons Ltd., in 1958.
Over the years Shaw Brothers produced some 1,000 films, before film production was suspended in 1987 to concentrate on the television industry, through its subsidiary TVB. Film production resumed in 2009.
In 2011 Shaw Brothers was reorganized into the Clear Water Bay Land Company Limited, its film production business being taken over by other companies within the Shaw conglomerate.
History
Prior to their involvement in the film-making business, the Shaw brothers were interested in opera and owned a theatre in Shanghai, and their father also owned a cinema. One of the plays in their theatre, The Man from Shensi was very popular. The Shaw brothers then bought their first camera and Runje Shaw made this play into a silent film which turned out to be a success. Runje Shaw and his brothers Runde and Runme formed a film production company in 1924 in Shanghai called the Tianyi Film Company (also known as Unique). The company's earliest films, New Leaf (立地成佛) and Heroine Li Feifei (女侠李飛飛), were shown in Shanghai in 1925.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong (香港; "Fragrant Harbour"), officially Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is an autonomous territory on the southern coast of China at the Pearl River Estuary and the South China Sea. The territory became a special administrative region of China with a high degree of autonomy on 1 July 1997 under the principle of one country, two systems. Disputes over the perceived misapplication of this principle have contributed to popular protests, including the 2014 Umbrella Revolution.

Rebbeca Marie Gomez (born March 2, 1997), better known by her stage name Becky G, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and actress. Her musical style is an integration of pop-rap and Latin pop music genres. She gained recognition in 2011, after she posted several videos of herself performing remixes of popular songs on to YouTube. In 2014, Gomez had her first Billboard Hot 100 entry, with "Shower", peaking at No. 16.
Early life
Gomez is of Mexican descent. Financial struggles forced her family to sell their home and move into the converted garage of her grandparents' house in Inglewood when she was nine years old. Gomez wanted to earn money to help out her family, so began working part-time jobs. Jobs she had included voice-overs and commercials. She also began recording herself in Garageband. Gomez has cited Christina Aguilera, Thalía and Jennifer Lopez as her musical influences.

Clor
Clor was a short-lived five-piece band from Brixton, England, formed by Barry Dobbin and Luke Smith in 2003 and which signed to the Parlophone record label after only six gigs. The band released a self-titled first album, in 2005 to critical acclaim. The album was placed first in a list of the "Greatest Albums You've Never Heard" by the NME in 2010.
The genesis of Clor began with a club night entitled Bad Bunny, run by Dobbin and Smith, who wanted to incorporate their own music into their DJ sets. They began recording in Smith's apartment and soon invited associates from the club night into their fold, expanding to a five-piece. Dobbin came upon the name Clor as it "...sounded raw, primitive, and futuristic at the same time". The demo Welcome Music Lovers was recorded in 2004, initially with the idea of being sent out to other clubs to book shows. However, word of mouth saw the offer of a record deal with label Parlophone after just six gigs. The Welcome Music Lovers EP saw release later in 2004, with singles Love + Pain and Outlines preceding debut album Clor in 2005. In May 2006, the band announced that it had split. Their manager stated that the future paths of Dobbin and Smith were unclear, though would likely involve musical pursuits.Smith has since produced Shitdisco's album, Kingdom of Fear (released April 2007), Foals album Total Life Forever (released May 2010), as well as both albums by singer-songwriter frYars. Dobbin went on to form and front a new band called Barringtone.

Another of the transition films from Golden Harvest, including a few stars from Cathay, a Director from Shaw Brothers and Lo Wei. Nora Miao was being groomed as an action star, then Bruce Lee, and really, Chang Cheh as well, took the martial arts film into a very macho direction with stars like Ti Lung, Chen Kuan Tai and so on. Patrick Tse Yin could swing a sword I suppose, but he wisely moved over to melodramas, which sold just as many tickets, it's just that he is unknown to western viewers. Still, an decent action flick. If his right hand man looks familiar, he is the star of Iron Bones, which you can find on my site.

Another of the transition films from Golden Harvest, including a few stars from Cathay, a Director from Shaw Brothers and Lo Wei. Nora Miao was being groomed as an action star, then Bruce Lee, and really, Chang Cheh as well, took the martial arts film into a very macho direction with stars like Ti Lung, Chen Kuan Tai and so on. Patrick Tse Yin could swing a sword I suppose, but he wisely moved over to melodramas, which sold just as many tickets, it's just that he is unknown to western viewers. Still, an decent action flick. If his right hand man looks familiar, he is the star of Iron Bones, which you can find on my site.

Fourth in Shaw Brothers' highly successful film series based on the classic Chinese novel Journey To The West, The Land Of Many Perfumes takes up where The Monkey Goes West, Princess Iron Fan, and The Cave Of Silken Web left off. Ho Fan is back as the Tang Dynasty monk who journeys with the mischievous Monkey and lecherous Pigsy to the far-flung corners of the earth. This time they find themselves in the Land of Many Perfumes, populated entirely by females. In this unique territory, the women reproduce by drinking the waters of the Fertility Spring, but their offspring are always girls. The Queen (Li Hsiang-chun) wants to become the grandmother of the boy, so she tires to marry her daughter (Fang Ying) to the monk. But even in this weird land, the course of true love is never smooth, further complicated by the antics of Monkey, Pigsy, and the amorous but Evil Sisters. Moviegoers under the mistaken impression that Chinese classics are of a conservative nature are in for a surprise as great as Pigsy's lust!

Nora Miao was being groomed as an action star, then Bruce Lee, and really, Chang Cheh as well, took the martial arts film into a very macho direction with stars like Ti Lung, Chen Kuan Tai and so on. With an emphasis on relaxing and releasing the pelvis and hips, we also are focusing on stimulating various TCM meridian lines throughout the practice. Let me start by saying that no, I am not pregnant. ;) Just wanted to get that out of the way! Mommas to be, this class is for you! While this is good advice for some, I believe some gentle yin yoga poses can provide great relief for low back discomfort and can also help you connect with baby.
The yin yoga poses in this class will not put any pressure on your stomach and will keep baby safe at all times. The #1 thing to look out for when practicing any kind of yoga while pregnant is to not go too far in a pose! Since you might be feeling more flexible it is tempting to stretch deeper and deeper but please try and refrain from doing this as you could injure yourself. Instead, hold back a little bit and focus on your breath.
I know I talk a little bit more in this class than I normally do but I want to make sure you are all staying safe and careful. Have lots lots of props close by such as pillows and blocks to accomodate a growing belly during your pregnancy and to make the class a bit more accessible.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints. Although your muscles will also be stretched, that is not the focus of the practice. It is best to practice yin yoga while your muscles are cold and NOT warmed up, even if that sounds counter intuitive. The reason we do this is so that we can send the "stress" and the "Stretch" to the connective tissues. If the muscles are warm they will steal the focus away from the joints.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
1. Find your edge
2. Be still
3. Hold the pose
Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.
Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.
Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student. I usually teach poses held for around 4-5 minutes. Learn to surrender and keep a timer close by if needed.
Use as many props as needed in Yin Yoga! Blocks, bolsters and straps are all great ways to support your body to make sure you are respecting your edge and not going too far.

Let me start by saying that no, I am not pregnant. ;) Just wanted to get that out of the way! Mommas to be, this class is for you! Many teachers advise women not to do Yin Yoga during pregnancy as your body is already naturally more flexible in order to prepare you for childbirth. While this is good advice for some, I believe some gentle yin yoga poses can provide great relief for low back discomfort and can also help you connect with baby.
The yin yoga poses in this class will not put any pressure on your stomach and will keep baby safe at all times. The #1 thing to look out for when practicing any kind of yoga while pregnant is to not go too far in a pose! Since you might be feeling more flexible it is tempting to stretch deeper and deeper but please try and refrain from doing this as you could injure yourself. Instead, hold back a little bit and focus on your breath.
I know I talk a little bit more in this class than I normally do but I want to make sure you are all staying safe and careful. Have lots lots of props close by such as pillows and blocks to accomodate a growing belly during your pregnancy and to make the class a bit more accessible.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints. Although your muscles will also be stretched, that is not the focus of the practice. It is best to practice yin yoga while your muscles are cold and NOT warmed up, even if that sounds counter intuitive. The reason we do this is so that we can send the "stress" and the "Stretch" to the connective tissues. If the muscles are warm they will steal the focus away from the joints.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
1. Find your edge
2. Be still
3. Hold the pose
Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.
Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.
Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student. I usually teach poses held for around 4-5 minutes. Learn to surrender and keep a timer close by if needed.
Use as many props as needed in Yin Yoga! Blocks, bolsters and straps are all great ways to support your body to make sure you are respecting your edge and not going too far.
