We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfast downstairs and then went back to our room to try to relax and get ready to meet our new baby girl. The nerves mark and I were experiencing were unbelievable. We had no idea what to expect, but what we got was nothing close to our dreams. I asked my mom how she would describe the day-- her response-- "I witnessed a miracle today"
At 9:00 we had an uber pick us up and take us to the foster care offices. They share buildings with an orphanage for special needs children. It was very interesting and humbling all at the same time.
We had a planned meeting at 930 with the workers and social workers, under the impression we would not meet Malea until 10:30. When we walked in, Malea was standing about 20 feet away from us!!!! She was so beautiful. The social worker whisked her away because it was not the time we were supposed to meet her. Just seeing her in person shocked us!
They took us and the other family upstairs to a room. We talked about Maleas schedule this week, what to expect, gave us a lot of paperwork, and answered our questions. A few minutes later, Malea walked in with her social worker. Mark and I were on the floor with many toys to try to gain her trust within that moment. Malea was very scared and hesitant. She didn't cry but she was not sure about us. Eventually she let me feed her puffs and then she fed Mark some puffs. After that I knew I needed to just "rip off the bandage" and pick her up. So I did. She did a light cry for a few minutes until mark and I started singing to her. We sang "twinkle twinkle" and "Jesus loves me" to her non-stop for at least 20 minutes and then she fell asleep in my arms.
After she slept for about 30 minutes, we loaded into a van and headed to the hotel. Jay was very excited to meet Malea. He was eagerly awaiting in the lobby of the hotel. Malea's personality completely opened up when she met Jay. They met and then we headed into the restaurant to eat. She ended up eating a ton (letting me feed her every single bite) and she smiled and laughed many times with us and Jay!
After lunch we went up to the hotel room to play and so she could get used to the room she will be moving into soon. Malea and Mark colored together, we built blocks together, jay showed her his Legos, and we ate goldfish and water together!
It was nothing but fun, laughter, kisses, hugs, snuggles, and a ton of love. Jay and my mom eventually left so mark and I could take Malea down to leave. When jay left, Malea whimpered a little. She loves her big brother so much already.
Mark and I walked her down to put her in the van so she can go back to her foster home. She bawled hard core and was reaching for us. I couldn't resist so I went and gave her a few more kisses and she held onto me with all her might. As sad as it was to see her cry, the fact that she already wanted to be with us was a huge answer to prayer.
Tomorrow is another big day for us as we go shopping and go meet Malea's foster family! Please continue to pray!

Andrew and Hannah met, found love at first sight...no joke...got engaged within 5 days of knowing each other and got married a few days after that! Life’s up’s and down’s hasn't always come easy and yet their love for each other and their kids continue to grow daily! The Slyfox Family does everything they can to live each day like it's their last. One of the most frequent questions we are asked about is how the adoption process works. Every situation is unique, just like every child is unique. What some experience may be totally different than what others experience.
In today's video, I share with you the basic 101 for adoption, what the general steps are (although regulations do vary state to state, and country to country), and some basic preparations to help you get on your way. A hardy father could not stop crying with happiness when presented adoption papers by his stepson.
Tyler Dukes, 20, asked his step-dad of seven years to adopt him as his son so he could take on his surname.
Blake Wilson, 34, who works in sales was handed the surprise of his life when he discovered adoption papers attached to the back of a photo frame he was given for Father’s Day.
Tyler’s mum Angela Wilson, 36, from Macon, Georgia in USA said: “Blake’s been a father to Tyler since he was 13 so they’ve been extremely close and you couldn’t tell they weren't biological.
“Last year he came to me and told me he wanted it to be official and legal and that he wanted Blake's name.

a very touching story of adoption from Kelly boy, Kelly girl, + Posey. we were invited to come into their home and tell this story right before Candice, the birth mother, was set to leave town after Chapel was born. Kelly girl first shared her very powerful story with us to see what we thought and if there was a story there. we were really drawn in by the idea of being able to get involved with such an intimate and personal process that includes some pretty remarkable paths crossing. Joyce started out by calling all of the parties involved, getting an idea of their role and seeing if they would be willing to share their take on camera.
we ended up spending two days with the Kelly's and it was definitely an experience that left quite an impression on everybody involved. this film was commissioned by the Kelly's so that Chapel would know her story and so that they could share their story with so many others who might be struggling with the many different aspects of adoption.
TECH SPECS
shot with the MKIV for b-roll and the RED Epic for all interviews
lenses included our standard prime kit for DSLRS and the Zeiss CP2 35/50/85mm plus the RED 17-55MM
all interviews were lit with lowel caselights and litepanels. an interview such as Kelly girls used roughly 6 lights total.
Ray handled all audio for the production. he ran a boom for all interviews in addition to a lav as a backup.
WORKFLOW
the piece was a big pile of media that was both EPIC and DSLR footage. the DSLR footage was cut in FCP and then an XML sent to premiere. the EPIC footage was rough cut inside Premiere. the story was assembled entirely with native files (both DSLR and EPIC) and it wasn't until the second to last revision that the piece was colored in DaVinci and new ProRes 2K master files were created.

Adoption
Adoption is a process whereby a person assumes the parenting of another, usually a child, from that person's biological or legal parent or parents, and, in so doing, permanently transfers all rights and responsibilities, along with filiation, from the biological parent or parents. a very touching story of adoption from Kelly boy, Kelly girl, + Posey. we were invited to come into their home and tell this story right before Candice, the birth mother, was set to leave town after Chapel was born. Kelly girl first shared her very powerful story with us to see what we thought and if there was a story there. we were really drawn in by the idea of being able to get involved with such an intimate and personal process that includes some pretty remarkable paths crossing. Joyce started out by calling all of the parties involved, getting an idea of their role and seeing if they would be willing to share their take on camera. we ended up spending two days with the Kelly's and it was definitely an experience that left quite an impression on everybody involved. this film was commissioned by the Kelly's so that Chapel would know her story and so that they could share their story with so many others who might be struggling with the many different aspects of adoption. TECH SPECS shot with the MKIV for b-roll and the RED Epic for all interviews lenses included our standard prime kit for DSLRS and the Zeiss CP2 35/50/85mm plus the RED 17-55MM all interviews were lit with lowel caselights and litepanels. an interview such as Kelly girls used roughly 6 lights total. Ray handled all audio for the production. he ran a boom for all interviews in addition to a lav as a backup. WORKFLOW the piece was a big pile of media that was both EPIC and DSLR footage. the DSLR footage was cut in FCP and then an XML sent to premiere. the EPIC footage was rough cut inside Premiere. the story was assembled entirely with native files (both DSLR and EPIC) and it wasn't until the second to last revision that the piece was colored in DaVinci and new ProRes 2K master files were created. SOUNDTRACK All of the music is licensed through With Eiquette's (www.withetiquette.com) new commercial license options. We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfast downstairs and then went back to our room to try to relax and get ready to meet our new baby girl. The nerves mark and I were experiencing were unbelievable. We had no idea what to expect, but what we got was nothing close to our dreams. I asked my mom how she would describe the day-- her response-- "I witnessed a miracle today" At 9:00 we had an uber pick us up and take us to the foster care offices. They share buildings with an orphanage for special needs children. It was very interesting and humbling all at the same time. At 9:00 we had an uber pick us up and take us to the foster care offices. They share buildings with an orphanage for special needs children. It was very interesting and humbling all at the same time.
We had a planned meeting at 930 with the workers and social workers, under the impression we would not meet Malea until 10:30. When we walked in, Malea was standing about 20 feet away from us!!!! She was so beautiful. The social worker whisked her away because it was not the time we were supposed to meet her. Just seeing her in person shocked us!
They took us and the other family upstairs to a room. We talked about Maleas schedule this week, what to expect, gave us a lot of paperwork, and answered our questions. A few minutes later, Malea walked in with her social worker. Mark and I were on the floor with many toys to try to gain her trust within that moment. Malea was very scared and hesitant. She didn't cry but she was not sure about us. Eventually she let me feed her puffs and then she fed Mark some puffs. After that I knew I needed to just "rip off the bandage" and pick her up. So I did. She did a light cry for a few minutes until mark and I started singing to her. We sang "twinkle twinkle" and "Jesus loves me" to her non-stop for at least 20 minutes and then she fell asleep in my arms.
After she slept for about 30 minutes, we loaded into a van and headed to the hotel. Jay was very excited to meet Malea. He was eagerly awaiting in the lobby of the hotel. Malea's personality completely opened up when she met Jay. They met and then we headed into the restaurant to eat. She ended up eating a ton (letting me feed her every single bite) and she smiled and laughed many times with us and Jay!
After lunch we went up to the hotel room to play and so she could get used to the room she will be moving into soon. Malea and Mark colored together, we built blocks together, jay showed her his Legos, and we ate goldfish and water together!
It was nothing but fun, laughter, kisses, hugs, snuggles, and a ton of love. Jay and my mom eventually left so mark and I could take Malea down to leave. When jay left, Malea whimpered a little. She loves her big brother so much already.
Mark and I walked her down to put her in the van so she can go back to her foster home. She bawled hard core and was reaching for us. I couldn't resist so I went and gave her a few more kisses and she held onto me with all her might. As sad as it was to see her cry, the fact that she already wanted to be with us was a huge answer to prayer.
Tomorrow is another big day for us as we go shopping and go meet Malea's foster family! Please continue to pray!

We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfast downstairs and then went back to our room to try to relax and get ready to meet our new baby girl. The nerves mark and I were experiencing were unbelievable. We had no idea what to expect, but what we got was nothing close to our dreams. I asked my mom how she would describe the day-- her response-- "I witnessed a miracle today"

Tyler Dukes, 20, asked his step-dad of seven years to adopt him as his son so he could take on his surname.
Blake Wilson, 34, who works in sales was handed the surprise of his life when he discovered adoption papers attached to the back of a photo frame he was given for Father’s Day.
Tyler’s mum Angela Wilson, 36, from Macon, Georgia in USA said: “Blake’s been a father to Tyler since he was 13 so they’ve been extremely close and you couldn’t tell they weren't biological.
“Last year he came to me and told me he wanted it to be official and legal and that he wanted Blake's name.

a very touching story of adoption from Kelly boy, Kelly girl, + Posey. we were invited to come into their home and tell this story right before Candice, the birth mother, was set to leave town after Chapel was born. Kelly girl first shared her very powerful story with us to see what we thought and if there was a story there. we were really drawn in by the idea of being able to get involved with such an intimate and personal process that includes some pretty remarkable paths crossing. Joyce started out by calling all of the parties involved, getting an idea of their role and seeing if they would be willing to share their take on camera.
we ended up spending two days with the Kelly's and it was definitely an experience that left quite an impression on everybody involved. this film was commissioned by the Kelly's so that Chapel would know her story and so that they could share their story with so many others who might be struggling with the many different aspects of adoption.
TECH SPECS
shot with the MKIV for b-roll and the RED Epic for all interviews
lenses included our standard prime kit for DSLRS and the Zeiss CP2 35/50/85mm plus the RED 17-55MM
all interviews were lit with lowel caselights and litepanels. an interview such as Kelly girls used roughly 6 lights total.
Ray handled all audio for the production. he ran a boom for all interviews in addition to a lav as a backup.
WORKFLOW
the piece was a big pile of media that was both EPIC and DSLR footage. the DSLR footage was cut in FCP and then an XML sent to premiere. the EPIC footage was rough cut inside Premiere. the story was assembled entirely with native files (both DSLR and EPIC) and it wasn't until the second to last revision that the piece was colored in DaVinci and new ProRes 2K master files were created.

Our NEW BABY | Thailand ADOPTION
We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfast downstairs and then went back to our room to try to relax and get ready to meet our new baby girl. The nerves mark and I were experiencing were unbelievable. We had no idea what to expect, but what we got was nothing close to our dreams. I asked my mom how she would describe the day-- her response-- "I witnessed a miracle today" At 9:00 we had an uber pick us up and take us to the foster care offices. They share buildings with an orphanage for special needs children. It was very interesting and humbling all at the same time. We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfa...
We all woke up at 3 in the morning, wide awake, ready to go meet our new baby girl! Breakfast didn't open until 6 so we just hung out and played. We ate breakfast downstairs and then went back to our room to try to relax and get ready to meet our new baby girl. The nerves mark and I were experiencing were unbelievable. We had no idea what to expect, but what we got was nothing close to our dreams. I asked my mom how she would describe the day-- her response-- "I witnessed a miracle today"
At 9:00 we had an uber pick us up and take us to the foster care offices. They share buildings with an orphanage for special needs children. It was very interesting and humbling all at the same time.
We had a planned meeting at 930 with the workers and social workers, under the impression we would not meet Malea until 10:30. When we walked in, Malea was standing about 20 feet away from us!!!! She was so beautiful. The social worker whisked her away because it was not the time we were supposed to meet her. Just seeing her in person shocked us!
They took us and the other family upstairs to a room. We talked about Maleas schedule this week, what to expect, gave us a lot of paperwork, and answered our questions. A few minutes later, Malea walked in with her social worker. Mark and I were on the floor with many toys to try to gain her trust within that moment. Malea was very scared and hesitant. She didn't cry but she was not sure about us. Eventually she let me feed her puffs and then she fed Mark some puffs. After that I knew I needed to just "rip off the bandage" and pick her up. So I did. She did a light cry for a few minutes until mark and I started singing to her. We sang "twinkle twinkle" and "Jesus loves me" to her non-stop for at least 20 minutes and then she fell asleep in my arms.
After she slept for about 30 minutes, we loaded into a van and headed to the hotel. Jay was very excited to meet Malea. He was eagerly awaiting in the lobby of the hotel. Malea's personality completely opened up when she met Jay. They met and then we headed into the restaurant to eat. She ended up eating a ton (letting me feed her every single bite) and she smiled and laughed many times with us and Jay!
After lunch we went up to the hotel room to play and so she could get used to the room she will be moving into soon. Malea and Mark colored together, we built blocks together, jay showed her his Legos, and we ate goldfish and water together!
It was nothing but fun, laughter, kisses, hugs, snuggles, and a ton of love. Jay and my mom eventually left so mark and I could take Malea down to leave. When jay left, Malea whimpered a little. She loves her big brother so much already.
Mark and I walked her down to put her in the van so she can go back to her foster home. She bawled hard core and was reaching for us. I couldn't resist so I went and gave her a few more kisses and she held onto me with all her might. As sad as it was to see her cry, the fact that she already wanted to be with us was a huge answer to prayer.
Tomorrow is another big day for us as we go shopping and go meet Malea's foster family! Please continue to pray!

Blake Wilson, 34, who works in sales was handed the surprise of his life when he discovered adoption papers attached to the back of a photo frame he was given for Father’s Day.

a very touching story of adoption from Kelly boy, Kelly girl, + Posey. we were invited to come into their home and tell this story right before Candice, the birth mother, was set to leave town after Chapel was born. Kelly girl first shared her very powerful story with us to see what we thought and if there was a story there. we were really drawn in by the idea of being able to get involved with such an intimate and personal process that includes some pretty remarkable paths crossing. Joyce started out by calling all of the parties involved, getting an idea of their role and seeing if they would be willing to share their take on camera.
we ended up spending two days with the Kelly's and it was definitely an experience that left quite an impression on everybody involved. this film was commissioned by the Kelly's so that Chapel would know her story and so that they could share their story with so many others who might be struggling with the many different aspects of adoption.
TECH SPECS
shot with the MKIV for b-roll and the RED Epic for all interviews
lenses included our standard prime kit for DSLRS and the Zeiss CP2 35/50/85mm plus the RED 17-55MM
all interviews were lit with lowel caselights and litepanels. an interview such as Kelly girls used roughly 6 lights total.
Ray handled all audio for the production. he ran a boom for all interviews in addition to a lav as a backup.
WORKFLOW
the piece was a big pile of media that was both EPIC and DSLR footage. the DSLR footage was cut in FCP and then an XML sent to premiere. the EPIC footage was rough cut inside Premiere. the story was assembled entirely with native files (both DSLR and EPIC) and it wasn't until the second to last revision that the piece was colored in DaVinci and new ProRes 2K master files were created.
SOUNDTRACK
All of the music is licensed through With Eiquette's (www.withetiquette.com) new commercial license options. Many of the artists / songs in this piece are in our Playthis playiist on the With Etiquette site (Amy Seeley, The Dimes, Cars & Trains, Norman, Daniel Dixon).
