Meanwhile, Catweazle searches for a way to return to his own time whilst hiding out in 'Castle Saburac', a disused water tower, with his familiar, a toad called Touchwood.

Episode 11 from the fourth series of Fort Boyard UK. Featuring a team from London.
A reading of my short story 'A Doctor Calls' (contained in the crime anthology 'A Dangerous Place' published by Moon Books). The main protagonist in the story was inspired by the kinds of characters often played by the late, great actor Geoffrey Bayldon who died two days ago. This reading is my tribute to his memory.
Worzel Gummidge was a scarecrow that could come to life. Living in Ten Acre Field, he would often visit the nearby village of Scatterbrook. He befriended two children, brother and sister John and Sue Peters, often trying to clear up the messes he created. He was madly in love with Aunt Sally, a vain, cruel-hearted fairground coconut-shy doll who considered herself a lady and far too good for a common scarecrow such as Worzel. Aunt Sally often exploits Worzel for her own ends. The series started in 1979, ending in 1981, and was produced by Souhern Television in the UK. It starred John Pertwee as Worzel, Uma Stubbs as Sally, Geoffrey Bayldon as The Crowman, Jeremy Austin as John and Charlotte Coleman as Sue.

In this series you will get a chance to experience just how it feels to be a 'Weazler' ( A member of the Catweazle U.K. Fan Club) for a first timer to the event. For the uninitiated, 'Catweazle' is a late 1960's/early 1970's childrens television show about an 11th century wizard who finds himself suddenly thrust 900 years through time. Starring the wonderful, Geoffrey Bayldon as the main character, the series was written by RIchard Carpenter (of 'Black Beauty' and ' The Ghosts Of Motley Hall' fame amongst numerous others) and ran for two series. It is the kind of programme that once seen you can never forget and as such still captures the hearts of people today. British actor Leslie Grantham talks to Kugan Cassius and iFilm London at the UK premiere of his film 'Acceptance' which was held at Cineworld in East London.
Older viewers might recall this classic early 1970s british tv series about the exploits of a 9th century wizard (catweazle) accidentaly transported to the 20th century. He and his 'familiar - a toad called 'touchwood' - set up home in a disused watertower and is soon befriended by a local schoolboy (edward) who lives on a nearby farm, and who spends most of his time trying to hide catweazle from others (with often hilarious results). Obviously the wizard has no comprehension of modern gadets so labels electricity 'elec-trickery' and telephones the 'telling bone'. The series concludes with the wizard finding a way to return to his own time via a local river, and its the incidental music from the series very poignant ending - composed by Raymond Jones - that is featured here. Alas little...
