Radio Disney

Radio Disney is an American radio network that is owned by The Walt Disney Company, under the Disney–ABC Television Group operating subsidiary Disney Channels Worldwide. It broadcasts music and other content aimed at preteens and young teenagers; it can be described as a youth-targeted contemporary hit radio format with heavy emphasis on teen idols. Recently Radio Disney has become a Mainstream Top 40 Indicator reporter on Nielsen-BDS eventually being upgraded to monitored status with Nielsen-BDS. Radio Disney is also a monitored reporter on the Mediabase 24/7 Top 40 panel. The network is headquartered in Burbank, California.

Radio Disney is formatted like a traditional radio station, featuring prize giveaways (in which listeners can enter via telephone, the internet and since 2008, text messaging) and occasional in-studio interviews called "Takeovers," which usually occur during the weekday late-afternoon timeslot. Radio Disney is Disney's second foray into radio; in late 1955, Walt Disney started The Magic Kingdom radio show—running Monday through Fridays and which was heard on ABC Radio from 11:35 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The broadcasts originated from the new Disneyland Park in Anaheim.

Earth Moving

Earth Moving is the 12th record album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1989. Unlike Oldfield's albums released prior to Earth Moving, the album contains no instrumental tracks.

Album analysis

Oldfield used several vocalists on the album, including his then girlfriend, Anita Hegerland. The album's music was performed mainly with synthesizers. It was the first time Oldfield recorded an album without an instrumental piece; each track being vocal-based pop and rock songs. Oldfield's only other album free of instrumentals to date is 2014's Man on the Rocks.

The final track, despite appearing to be a lengthier piece, consists of two short, apparently unconnected songs, combined into one track, with a noticeable pause in between. According to Oldfield, the album was made with the full understanding of his recording company, Virgin Records, which demanded he create more commercially oriented material than his previous albums. After recording Earth Moving Oldfield wanted to move away from 'computerised music' and return to real musicians and instruments; this is evident in his next album, Amarok.

Nothing But Thieves

Nothing But Thieves is an English five piece alternative rock band from Southend-on-Sea in Essex. Formed in 2012, the band consists Conor Mason (vocals), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboards), James Price (drums), and Philip Blake (bass guitar). In 2014, they were signed to RCA Records.

Background

The band’s single “Itch” picked up Hottest Record and Track Of The Day accolades on Radio 1 and also made it onto the Radio 1 playlist. The band were picked by Gerard Way and thereafter Awolnation to support European dates. They supported Arcade Fire and George Ezra at the Brits show for War Child at the Electric in Brixton, performed at NME Awards show, toured with Twin Atlantic, Darlia and Young Guns on separate support tours across the country. They have also been added to a multitude of European festivals including Reading & Leeds and Isle of Wight Festival. They have appeared twice on Radio 1's Live Lounge, Maida Vale session. In July 2015 they supported Muse at the Rock In Roma show, playing in front of 30,000 people.

Navbharat Times

Navbharat Times (NBT) is one of the largest circulated as well as largest read Hindi newspaper of Delhi and Mumbai and Lucknow. It is from the stable of Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd, which also publishes other dailies including The Times of India, The Economic Times, Maharashtra Times and also magazines such as Filmfare and Femina. NBT is one of the oldest product of the group .

NBT has a circulation of 4.23 lakh odd copies (source: JJ-10, ABC India) in Delhi and a strong readership of 19.7 lakh readers. Hindi being the second language in Mumbai; NBT circulates to 130,000 copies in the Greater Mumbai area (source JD-10, ABC India) and attracts 470,000 NBT readers according to the industry benchmark – the Indian Readership Survey (source: IRS Survey R4, 2010). NBT has been the number one newspaper in the respective cities since its inception.

History

The first issue of Navbharat Times hit the stands on 3 April 1947, the year India gained its independence. It was the only Hindi publication those days to use rotary machines for producing the paper. A skeletal staff of 12 people used to produce a six-page newspaper that was then sold for one anna. The publication was led by few of the renowned Hindi journalists and was considered to be mecca of journalism. NBT was the first Hindi national newspaper those days with editions in Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna and Jaipur. However NBT now has editions only in Delhi and Mumbai and Lucknow. Delhi’s upcountry edition was also shut down to give more value to the advertisers, even as www.navbharattimes.com/www.nbt.in would serve outside audiences.
