Roppongi is famous for it's party nightlife in Tokyo. It is the number one place for foreigners to go to, if they want a night out in Tokyo. Roppongi has foreigner friendly service and is a great place to meet other expats, but when it comes to Roppongi's clubbing and bars, there is a lot to be said. It is an extremely shady part of Tokyo that at night has a lot of drunken people being very rowdy.
Some of the areas of interest in Roppongi include Roppongi Hills, Roppongi Yokocho, and nearby Tokyo Tower.

Roppongi
Roppongi (六本木, literally "six trees") is a district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan, famous as home to the rich Roppongi Hills area and an active night club scene. Many foreign embassies are located in Roppongi, and the night life is popular with locals and foreigners alike. It is in the central part of Tokyo, south of Akasaka and north of Azabu.
History
The name "Roppongi", which appears to have been coined around 1660, literally means "six trees". Six very old and large zelkova trees used to mark the area; the first three were cleared, and the last were destroyed during World War II. Another legend has it that the name comes from the fact that six daimyo lived nearby during the Edo period, each with the kanji character for "tree" or a kind of tree in their names. Roppongi was not extensively populated until after the Meiji Restoration, although the area was trafficked for centuries and served as the site of the cremation of Shogun Tokugawa Hidetada's wife in 1626.
In 1890, the Third Imperial Guard of the Imperial Japanese Army was moved to a site near Roppongi (now home to the Pacific bureau of Stars and Stripes). The influx of soldiers led to the area's rise as a nightlife district, briefly interrupted by the Great Kanto earthquake which flattened the area in 1923. Roppongi was administratively part of Azabu Ward from 1878 to 1947.

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi).

Roppongi Hills
Roppongi Hills (六本木ヒルズ, Roppongi Hiruzu) is a development project in Tokyo and one of Japan's largest integrated property developments, located in the Roppongi district of Minato, Tokyo. The architecture and use of the space is documented in the book Six Strata: Roppongi Hills Redefined.
Constructed by building tycoon Minoru Mori, the mega-complex incorporates office space, apartments, shops, restaurants, cafés, movie theatres, a museum, a hotel, a major TV studio, an outdoor amphitheatre, and a few parks. The centerpiece is the 54-story Mori Tower. Mori's stated vision was to build an integrated development where high-rise inner-urban communities allow people to live, work, play, and shop in proximity to eliminate commuting time. He argued that this would increase leisure time, quality of life, and benefit Japan's national competitiveness. Seventeen years after the design's initial conception, the complex opened to the public on April 25, 2003.
The development
Roppongi Hills cost over $4 billion and is built on a 27-acre (109,000 m²) site. The site amalgamated more than 400 smaller lots Mori acquired over 14 years.

In this YouTube video watch as I explore the beautiful Roppongi Hills in downtown Tokyo, Japan. Roppongi hills is a great place to travel to and visit if you are spending time in Tokyo. It is a huge, modern shopping and entertain complex with a beautiful Toho Cinema right at the very top. There are many high brand shops as well as some great Japanese, Italian, and French restaurants. The shopping is very expensive however. It is considered a very romantic place and you can often see many people dating there. The Roppongi hills Mari Tower is a famous office building in Tokyo and is where Japan's YouTube headquarters is located as well as the Roppongi Hills residency. Many Japanese movies, and tv shows are filmed and produced in Roppongi hills. Roppongi city itself is famous for its nightlife and variety of clubs. On a Friday or Saturday night you can often see many foreigners or Gaijin partying on the streets of Roppongi. I had a lot of fun spending the day in Roppongi enjoying the sights and eating some delicious Japanese food. I had a lot of fun making this video and I hope you enjoy watching it.
Moving to Japan (日本) allowed me to enjoy all the Japanese music, Japanese songs, Japanese food, and Japanese cultural festivals that make this place so amazing. Teaching English in Japan (日本) has been a great experience for me and I love every minute of it. I love Japanese lifestyle and living in Japan as a foreigner and I hope my videos can create some interest in moving to Japan or having a Japanese holiday. Roppongi Hills, opened in 2003, it is a complex of offices, foreign banks, luxury shops and entertainment venues. It is also home to many famous Japanese celebrities who live in these very expensive high-rise buildings. There are lots of open spaces including an open air arena, with free performances.
But for tourists and ex-pats living here, its attractions and activities will keep you amused around the clock. During the day you can visit the Mori Towers Complex. The first six floors have numerous shops and restaurants. Why are you wearing the kimono? She is celebrating Seijin Shiki, it is for girls turning 20 years old. She has come here for shopping.

I have visited Tokyo many times and includes gems like the Parasite Museum, Robot Restaurant, Kawaii Monster Cafe and tips for the vivid Tokyo nightlife. The places featured are split up by district so you can easily do multiple things in the same area to save yourself precious time in this expensive city.
The first thing you have to remember about Tokyo is that it doesn't have an actual city center, but has huge districts with each their own city center. Everything is very spread out in this massive metropolitan city so try to at least visit a new district every day. For instance: Shinjuku, Harajuku & Shibuya on day 1. Roppongi, Chiyoda, Akasaka, Tsukiji & Ginza on day 2 and Akihabara, Ikebukuro and Koenji on day 3.
