André Liohn's harrowing and dramatic series of images taken in the besieged Libyan city of Misrata are truly in the spirit of Robert Capa's combat photography. These searing images are a first rate example of close quarters combat photography obtained at great personal risk. Rarely do we see photos taken so deep in the fog of war, serving, as they do, to shine a bright light on the horrors and consequences of combat.

Here's my long overdue exclusive interview with Andre Jackson, who plays Adult Simba in the touring cast of The Lion King musical currently touring the country. I was fortunate enough to catch up with Andre last February when the show was in Seattle for a four-week return engagement and do this interview which was the thrill of a lifetime for me. In the interview he talks about his past, the long and difficult journey he has experienced as an actor, how he miraculously landed this role, and how fortunate and blessed he feels he is to be a part of The Lion King. It was truly an honor to be able to meet such a talented and humble man. I also wrote an article about him for the local paper which can be found here: http://www.pnwlocalnews.com/east_king/red/entertainment/40886943.h...

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, experienced a 7.0 cataclysmic earthquake on January 12, 2010. The disaster rocked the nations capital and shook the small country to its core killing more than 230,000 people and displacing several million. My pictures document the eruption of violence and looting when the hungry, desperate and frustrated people of Haiti, unassisted by their country´s leaders or helped by the international community, decided to find their own means of survival in the badly damaged capital Port au Prince. The Bel Air neighbourhood in downtown Port-au-Prince has seen its share of troubles including poverty, high unemployment, gang violence and other social ills. But nothing prepared the usually resilient community for this earthquake. Many of the reside...

What is this life I've stumbled in to?
Where's it gonna take me?
Where's it gonna take you?
If life is a journey, then I know where I'll be
By the ocean, oh, that valley in the sea
But I don't think anyone's looking for me
Especially you
And if someone is looking, then who?
And it's amazing
How lost inside you feel
When you look fine on the outside
You're screaming, "Someone take the wheel!"
And it's amazing
Yeah, they think you've got it all
But it might just be a pebble
That's gonna make you fall
What is this story that tells me I'm fine?
It adds color to my pages
Like a sweet, little nursery rhyme
If I had the answers
Then I know where I'd be
By the ocean, oh, that valley in the sea
And it's amazing
How lost inside you feel
When you look fine on the outside
You're screaming, "Someone take the wheel!"
And it's amazing
Yeah, they think you've got it all
But it might just be a pebble
That's gonna make you fall away
Like summer fades to grey
And be honest babe
Cause it hurts so much to say
That I don't think anyone's looking for me
Especially you
And if someone is looking, then who?
And it's amazing
How lost inside you feel
When you look fine on the outside
You're screaming, "Someone take the wheel!"
And it's amazing
Yeah, they think you've got it all
But it might just be a pebble
That's gonna make you fall
That's gonna make you fall
