Morrowind is 15 years old but there are a few projects that modernise it to not only improve the graphics and visuals but to also add content. Morrowind Overhaul 3.0, Morrowind Rebirth, and Tamriel Rebuilt can all combine together and this video is a how to install guide to get all 3 working together. If you want to use an old save, move into a small interior and save there. I've had problems loading after installing all of this with saves when I'm outdoors. ALSO note: It's been reported this will only work with the ENGLISH version of the game, though I haven't tested this myself. 1. Download everything linked above. 2. Extract Morrowind Overhaul into your Morrowind install directory and run MOInstaller as administrator - Install Overhaul and follow on-screen instructions, sometimes the software takes control of your mouse and there's a rare chance things might seem like they've hung or frozen, go get a cup of coffee and come back later, it might unfreeze. 3. During the Code Patch make sure the Map expansion (for Tamriel Rebuilt) is checked. 4. Turn all flora options to custom mod and turn OFF Solstheim grass and Animated Morrowind. 5. Turn off Display FPS in MGE. 6. Extract Rebirth Data Files into Morrowind Install directory. Merge folders but DO NOT overwrite files. 7. Extract Tamriel Rebuilt Data Files into Data Files folder and copy Tamriel Rebuilt lines into the ini file. Renumber them as needed. 8. When selecting mods from the Morrowind launcher, turn off the 2 Texture Fixes, Poorly Placed Objects, and Morrowind Patch 1.6.5 - Turn on all Rebirth stuff, Tamriel_Data.esm, and TR_Mainland.esm. Leave OFF TR_Travels.esp and TR_Preview.esp if you don't want to visit unfinished areas and having those on might make saves incompatible with future updates. 9. Run Distant Land again through MGEXEgui application. Select same as step 8. Double check that Morrowind Data Files are turned on correctly. 10. There is a file patcher for making saves compatible but I didn't need to do it. My old saves seem to work okay, I just can't load the ones where I'm outdoors because it crashes my game on load. But if you're having problems loading a save you can try backup the save and run the file patcher on it. 11. Sometimes an error saying that the file Meshes\f\Furn_De_Table_03.NIF is missing appears. Go into your Morrowind folder and delete the Morrowind\Data Files\Meshes\f\Furn_De_Table_03.NIF file. 12. Run the latest Morrowind Code Patch to fix more things. For me, sound levels were still all over the place (some sfx being way too loud) so running the new code patch fixed it for me. NOTE: If you're on Windows 10, disabling UAC can cause things like your calculator and other apps to stop working. Make sure you turn UAC back on and restart your PC if you want to have the apps working again.
