The Sill is a 35 km long river in Tyrol, Austria. It is one of the larger tributaries of the Inn River in the Austrian Tyrol. It flows through the Wipptal valley north to Innsbruck. Its source lies east of the Brenner Pass. At the "Sillzwickel" - the name of the point where it meets the Inn at Innsbruck - there is a big recreation area, with showers, toilets and cycle tracks.
The natural river basin is about 855 km²; 31,6 km² are covered in glacier ice.
The water power generated by the river flow is used for three power plants providing the city and environs with electricity. In the Wipptal Valley the water quality is grade A to B. In the city area it is reduced to B because of sewage.
One interesting point on the river is the Sill Fall (see picture) which has a height of 4 metres. This is the point where water is taken out for urban use. In the fall basin, fish such as trout can be found. Also interesting is the Bretterkeller waterfall located at the bottom of the Paschberg in the city area of Innsbruck.

The Palisades Sill is a Triassic, 200 Ma diabase intrusion. It extends through portions of New York and New Jersey. It is most noteworthy for The Palisades, the cliffs that rise steeply above the western bank of the Hudson River. The ideal location and accessibility of the sill, as well as its unique features, have generated much attention from nature enthusiasts, rock climbers, and geologists alike.
The outcrop of the Palisades Sill is quite recognizable for its prominent cliffs above the Hudson River; it is easily seen from the western portions of Manhattan. The exposure is approximately 80 kilometers (50 mi) long, most of it following the Hudson River. It first emerges in Staten Island in New York City. The sill then crosses the state line into New Jersey, where Jersey City, Union City, Fort Lee, and Englewood Cliffs all lie on it.
The sill eventually crosses back into New York, following the Hudson River north until reaching Haverstraw. It is at this point that the sill makes a turn to the west, where it disappears near Pomona. At this turn, the sill cuts across local strata, making it a dike in that area, not a sill.
A river is a natural flowing watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river. In some cases a river flows into the ground and becomes dry at the end of its course without reaching another body of water. Small rivers can be referred to using names such as stream, creek, brook, rivulet, and rill. There are no official definitions for the generic term river as applied to geographic features, although in some countries or communities a stream is defined by its size. Many names for small rivers are specific to geographic location; examples are "run" in some parts of the United States, "burn" in Scotland and northeast England, and "beck" in northern England. Sometimes a river is defined as being larger than a creek, but not always: the language is vague.
Rivers are part of the hydrological cycle. Water generally collects in a river from precipitation through a drainage basin from surface runoff and other sources such as groundwater recharge, springs, and the release of stored water in natural ice and snowpacks (e.g. from glaciers). Potamology is the scientific study of rivers while limnology is the study of inland waters in general.

Canadian Pacific 9144, 6010, 5966 southbound at mile 69 of the CP Parry Sound subdivision at Still River pulling mixed freight cars (400 axles). CP 9144 met CP 8713 at Pickerel siding. Meets and southbound trains are very rare along this stretch of track because it is normally running unidirectional with all northbound CN & CP traffic using this rail and all the southbound traffic using the CN Bala subdivision. The CN Mowat derailment has the normal flow disrupted.

Tip #2, in a series of quick tips and insights when cruising on the Trent Severn Waterway. This time, we look at the caution line in some of the old, manual locks. These are here to let entering boats know where the concrete sill projects into the lock. If your boat has outboard or I/O engines, or a deep swim platform, make sure to be well inside of this line. Please follow along on my Channel for more of these Tips, as well as hundreds of original Boating and Travel videos. The Trent Severn Waterway is located in Ontario, Canada. It's 240 mile/386 km long series of lakes, rivers and canals connect Lake Ontario at Trenton with Georgian Bay/Lake Huron at Port Severn and forms an integral part of America's Great Loop. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -...

◼◻ To study Krishnamurti's Teachings:◼◻ http://ktea.ch/us Widely recognized as one of the most influential spiritual teachers of the twentieth century, Jiddu Krishnamurti taught that in order for there to be peace in the world, we must each first make peace with ourselves. No spiritual path, leader, or personal or political philosophy will guide us in this endeavor, he said; this transformation of the human psyche is a truth that each of us must discover within.Krishnamurti teaches that the war and destruction human beings wreak on each other and the environment are caused by our misplaced attachment to a sense of self and individuality that leads to aggression, competition, greed, and conflict. When we recognize that our consciousness is not individual but common to all humans, we can wo...

Higher, higher
Won't you come with me
Baby gonna get my soul free
Now you and me
I guess we see things differently
We're night and day
A bad connection some would say
And i don't want nothing to change
I don't want nothing to change
Because
When you touch me baby
I don't have no choice
Oh that sweet temptation
In your voice
Higher, higher
Won't you come with me
Baby gonna get my soul free
Now seems to me
Some things have just got to be
The games we play
Break up make-up day by day
And i don't want nothing to change
Said i don't want nothing to change
Because
When you touch me baby
I don't have no choice
Oh that sweet temptation
In your voice
Higher, higher
Won't you come with me
