Green Lantern
Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
The first Green Lantern character, Alan Scott, was created in 1940 during the initial popularity of superheroes. Alan Scott usually fought common criminals in New York City with the aid of his magic ring. The publication of this character ceased in 1949 during a general decline in the popularity of superhero comics, but the character saw a limited revival in later decades.
In 1959, to capitalize on the booming popularity of science fiction, the Green Lantern character was reinvented as Hal Jordan, an officer for an interstellar law enforcement agency known as the Green Lantern Corps. Additional members of this agency, all of whom call themselves Green Lanterns, were introduced over time. Prominent Green Lanterns who also have had starring roles in the books include Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz.

Green Lantern (Six Flags Great Adventure)
Green Lantern is a steel stand-up roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey. Green Lantern stands 155 feet (47 m) tall and features a top speed of 63 miles per hour (101 km/h). The 4,155-foot-long (1,266 m) ride features five inversions and a duration of approximately 21⁄2 minutes. The ride was manufactured by Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard.
The ride originally operated at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky from 1997 to 2009, where it was known as Chang. Upon opening in 1997, it set world records for this type of coaster in height, drop, speed, length and number of inversions. The introduction of the ride caused Kentucky Kingdom to achieve record attendance levels. After Six Flags abandoned Kentucky Kingdom in 2009, the ride was relocated to Six Flags Great Adventure. The ride debuted in 2011 as Green Lantern, replacing the former Great American Scream Machine roller coaster.

Sleepers is a trilogy created by Mike Baron and written by Christopher J. Priest. Each volume focuses on a different Green Lantern—Kyle Rayner, Alan Scott, and Hal Jordan, respectively.
Pocket has published a series of Justice League of America novels. Of these, Exterminators by Christopher Golden includes Hal Jordan as part of the team, and Hero's Quest by Dennis O'Neil is a solo Green Lantern story.
All of these stories have been made into full-cast dramatizations released by GraphicAudio.

The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure
Hal Jordan was the featured character in a solo series which was part of The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure (1967) as well as part of the Justice League segments. These would be the character's first animated appearances. Gerald Mohr is the voice of Green Lantern.
Super Friends
In addition, Hal Jordan's Green Lantern was an occasional supporting character in the various Super Friends incarnations: Challenge of the Super Friends, Super Friends, Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show, and The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians. Michael Rye provided the voice of the Green Lantern for these appearances.

Vandal Savage
Vandal Savage is a fictional supervillain published by DC Comics. He first appeared in Green Lantern vol. 1 #10 (December 1944), and was created by Alfred Bester and Martin Nodell.
Savage is immortal, and has plagued the earth with crime and violence since before the beginning of recorded human history. He is a brilliant tactician with immense technological prowess. He is one of DC's most persistent villains and has fought hundreds of heroes throughout history.
Fictional character biography
In the days of prehistory, 50,000 BC, Savage was a caveman named Vandar Adg, leader of the Cro-Magnon Blood Tribe. He was bathed in the radiation of a mysterious meteorite, which gave him incredible intellect and immortality. An observer from the Bear Tribe would later approach that same meteorite and become Savage's eternal nemesis, the Immortal Man, possessing the power to resurrect as a new persona every time he is killed. According to Lex Luthor, there may be evidence to suggest that Savage was the first cannibal on record. Though the Calculator took this to be a joke, Luthor was apparently serious, and Savage has not shown much regard for human life.

It's frankly shocking that the Green Lantern hasn't gotten a truly stellar live-action adaptation yet. Of course, DC certainly tried with 2011's Green Lantern, one of the most infamous comic book films of all time that really shouldn't have been the disaster that it was. It had a fantastic action filmmaker in Casino Royale (2006) director Marin Campbell, an extremely talented cast led by future Deadpool Ryan Reynolds, and rich source material Alas, the movie is remembered as a critical and financial failure, with nearly everyone who was a part of the film's production treating it as a practical joke in their careers. Since then, apart from a brief cameo from a Green Lantern Corps member in Justice League (2017), we haven't seen the famous green ring appear in any other DC live-action project since the first film. Green Lantern has, however, found far more success in television, nearly all of them being animated like the legendary Justice League (2001-2004) series and the fan-favorite Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011-2013). With the many wielders of the Green Lantern ring seemingly feeling much more comfortable on the small screen, it makes sense that new DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have opted to use the serialized television format to bring the Green Lanterns into their new DC Universe. Simply titled Lanterns, the plural use of the word is deliberate as the show will star not one, but two heroes who share the title of Green Lantern.
Those two people are Hal Jordan, the original human Green Lantern Corp member and the one we follow in the 2011 film as well as Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and John Stewart, the Green Lantern best known as the roster member seen in both Justice League and its sequel series Justice League Unlimited (2004-2006). The second live-action series in Gunn and Safran's recently announced "Gods and Monsters" phase, the ambitious new show will see the two Lanterns (and perhaps a few more) embark on a detective story that will result in major consequences for the rest of the DCU. A buddy-cop-style Green Lantern show has been in on-and-off development for a very long time and has been shrouded in secrecy for that same timeframe. With Gunn and Safran now finally kicking the show's production into gear, it's only a matter of time until we learn more about the anticipated project. Until then, here is everything we know so far about Lanterns.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. It's frankly shocking that the Green Lantern hasn't gotten a truly stellar live-action adaptation yet. Of course, DC certainly tried with 2011's Green Lantern, one of the most infamous comic book films of all time that really shouldn't have been the disaster that it was. It had a fantastic action filmmaker in Casino Royale (2006) director Marin Campbell, an extremely talented cast led by future Deadpool Ryan Reynolds, and rich source material Alas, the movie is remembered as a critical and financial failure, with nearly everyone who was a part of the film's production treating it as a practical joke in their careers. Since then, apart from a brief cameo from a Green Lantern Corps member in Justice League (2017), we haven't seen the famous green ring appear in any other DC live-action project since the first film. Green Lantern has, however, found far more success in television, nearly all of them being animated like the legendary Justice League (2001-2004) series and the fan-favorite Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011-2013). With the many wielders of the Green Lantern ring seemingly feeling much more comfortable on the small screen, it makes sense that new DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have opted to use the serialized television format to bring the Green Lanterns into their new DC Universe. Simply titled Lanterns, the plural use of the word is deliberate as the show will star not one, but two heroes who share the title of Green Lantern.
Those two people are Hal Jordan, the original human Green Lantern Corp member and the one we follow in the 2011 film as well as Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and John Stewart, the Green Lantern best known as the roster member seen in both Justice League and its sequel series Justice League Unlimited (2004-2006). The second live-action series in Gunn and Safran's recently announced "Gods and Monsters" phase, the ambitious new show will see the two Lanterns (and perhaps a few more) embark on a detective story that will result in major consequences for the rest of the DCU. A buddy-cop-style Green Lantern show has been in on-and-off development for a very long time and has been shrouded in secrecy for that same timeframe. With Gunn and Safran now finally kicking the show's production into gear, it's only a matter of time until we learn more about the anticipated project. Until then, here is everything we know so far about Lanterns.

Green Lantern
Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
The first Green Lantern character, Alan Scott, was created in 1940 during the initial popularity of superheroes. Alan Scott usually fought common criminals in New York City with the aid of his magic ring. The publication of this character ceased in 1949 during a general decline in the popularity of superhero comics, but the character saw a limited revival in later decades.
In 1959, to capitalize on the booming popularity of science fiction, the Green Lantern character was reinvented as Hal Jordan, an officer for an interstellar law enforcement agency known as the Green Lantern Corps. Additional members of this agency, all of whom call themselves Green Lanterns, were introduced over time. Prominent Green Lanterns who also have had starring roles in the books include Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz.
