On this date in 1982, Heaven 17 released their sixth single, "Let Me Go". It was backed by an instrumental version of the A side. The A side appeared on their second U.K. album, The Luxury Gap, and their debut U.S. album, Heaven 17. The single reached the #41 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Sheffield, England new wave band formed when Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh split from The Human League.
