Wenjian Liu, 32, along with his partner 32, Rafael Ramos, 40, were gunned down in the car in Brooklyn, just five days before Christmas. As he lay dying in hospital, Liu's wife of just a few months, Pei 'Sanny' Xei Chen, was asked if she would like to preserve his semen to allow her to have his child. Barbara Sinatra passed away on Tuesday at her home in California. The former model and fourth wife of Frank Sinatra was 90, and had been in declining for several months. Barbara became one of the most famous women in the world when she married Sinatra in 1976, spending 22 years with the singer before he passed away in 1998 at the age of 82 from a heart attack. She leveraged the fame afforded to her by way of her marriage to raise funds and rally support for a number of charitable causes, most notably the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center at Eisenhower Medical Center.

The Dallas Cowboys are offering up no apologies and showing absolutely no remorse after cutting wide receiver Lucky Whitehead just two hours after police falsely accused him of shoplifting. Whitehead was at practice on Monday when he learned that the Prince William County Police Department was claiming he had been arrested on June 22 for stealing approximately $40 worth of goods from a Wawa convenience store in Woodbridge, Virginia. He explained to the organization that these claims were completely false and that he had in fact been in Dallas on the date in question, but his pleas fell of deaf ears.

Venus Williams has finally fired back at the wrongful death lawsuit stemming from a fatal car accident she was involved in last month. New legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com show the Wimbledon finalist has denied all allegations that she is responsible for the death of 78-year-old Jerome Barson and is blaming the passengers for their injuries claiming they did not wear a seat belt. Venus is also claiming Jerome and Linda Barson failed to adequately maintain and repair their vehicle. She is now demanding the estate hand over all autopsy reports and medical records.

Ten members of an extended family were laid to rest Tuesday after horrifically losing their lives together in mere seconds when a swim at a watering hole turned deadly in a flash flood in Arizona. Hector Miguel Garnica, 26, was the last family member found and was identified just in time to be included in the funeral Mass that had over 1,000 attendants. He and his wife, Maria del Carmen Raya Garcia, were killed as they celebrated her 27th birthday on July 15, along with their three small children: Hector Daniel, 7, Mia, 5, and Emily, 3 (pictured together top right). The 10 white caskets belonging to three generations of a Mexican immigrant family were arranged in two rows facing the altar at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Scottsdale. They were laid to rest in their satin lined caskets to strains of Ave Maria.

Antoquan Watson, 27, of Williamstown, died after the shootout with cops in Atlantic City in 2014. The video has just been released following a New Jersey Supreme Court decision this month that ruled dash cam footage of all fatal shootings involving police should be made public. A grand jury declined to indict the seven officers involved in 2015. The incident in 2014 after the cops were called out to reports of a man with a gun at a Pleasantville restaurant. Watson fled, and officers chased his SUV through city streets and along highways as he ran red lights and swerved around other vehicles. He also fired a round at officers while driving, authorities said.

Shocking footage shows a naked man screaming at people in a Chicago neighborhood as he is covered in blood after cutting off his own penis. A woman living on a remote island off the coast of Canada devoid of human life could certainly give Robinson Crusoe a run for his money. Zoe Lucas, 57, has spent 40 years living on Sable Island, a large smile-shaped sandbar measuring around 26 miles long. The only other residents on the patch of land are around 400 horses, 300,000 grey seals and 350 species of bird. Talking to MailOnline Travel Lucas, who is revered for her work as a naturalist, revealed that she has adapted to island life and never gets lonely. She says her essential survival tools include a jotter pad, so she can take notes, and binoculars to observe the wildlife on the sandy shores. Frances Gabe, of Newbury, Oregon, grew tired of housework while raising two children in the 1960s. She decided that she would build a house that could clean itself - and 12 years later she had done just that. Using 68 different patented inventions, she built a home that was essentially a 'giant dishwasher'. Sprinklers in the ceiling washed the entire inside of her home, a warm ventilation system dried it, and drains in the shower funneled the residual water outdoors. She passed away in relative anonymity on December 26, 2016 at the age of 101, having lost her patents, and for the most part alone. Her story was rediscovered seven months after her death - one of a feminist in her own time who simply wanted to make housework a bit easier.

WARNING: UPSETTING FOOTAGE The animal died at the burning bull festival in the small town of Foios, 10 miles north of Valencia in eastern Spain. Initially it was tied to a wooden post in the centre of a makeshift bullring. It's horns were set alight before the animal was released. Disorientated and confused, it ran a short distance before turning round and crashing straight into the wooden post at full speed.

Stacey Gagnon, 42, took to Facebook last week to share her story after a group of kids pointed and stared at her nine-year-old son Joel, who was born with a craniofacial impairment and is missing an ear. Stacey and her husband Darren are parents to six kids, four of whom are adopted and have special needs. In her post, she urged parents to teach their children about differences, so they will know not to point and stare when they come across another child like Joel. An Egyptian tank crew was credited with saving up to 50 people from a car bomb laden with explosives which drove at an army checkpoint in North Sinai (pictured left). The tank spotted the car racing towards the checkpoint and drove out head-on to meet them (pictured right), before proceeding to run over the car - which had four heavily-armed militants inside. A military spokesperson said seven civilians died, but added that up to 50 had been saved by the tank's actions, including the ones seen desperately fleeing the scene.

Sliwa (inset right) was issued a summons for disorderly conduct on Tuesday morning, when he showed up outside the gates of Gracie Mansion with court papers and refused to budge for DeBlasio's (inset left) motorcade. The suit relates to the format of election ballots in New York, where candidates can run under multiple party lines, and seeks to boot Democrat DeBlasio off the Working Families Party party line. Sliwa famously founded the Guardian Angels in the 1970s to fight rampant crime in New York City's subways, and is still frequently seen in the group's signature red outfits.

A construction crew working on a 1,515-foot skyscraper has captured the breathtaking moment a 360-degree rainbow appeared over St. Petersburg. As the footage pans over the continuous circle of the rainbow, it's almost hard to believe your eyes - but, while it may be a remarkable sight, the phenomenon is not entirely uncommon, as long as you have the right vantage point. Seeing a 'full circle rainbow' requires the right sky conditions and the right viewing angle, typically from high above the ground, so these natural wonders are usually only seen by pilots.

A Chinese panda centre is under fire after three of their workers were accused of treating bear cubs poorly. The accusation came after surveillance footage emerged on social media, which showed the workers dragging two bear cubs along the ground, pushing them away and throwing them in the air and on the floor. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda, China's main panda breeding base, claimed its workers were trying to keep the cubs in their enclosure and the workers were scratched and bit by the baby pandas during the process.

The skateboarder, from Langley in British Columbia, Canada, can be seen preparing to perform the dramatic stunt on the edge of the ramp. He lets out a scream before shooting down the ramp and leaping off the other side. With his arms stretched out, he flies into the swimming pool as his impressed friends and family look on. The skateboarder then surfaces from the water and calmly retrieves his hat.
