Arsenal v Liverpool
If it's goals you want to see on Saturday, then the Emirates looks like the place to be, judging by recent encounters between Arsenal and Liverpool.

Four of their last five meetings have produced three goals or more and all of the last three have, namely Liverpool's 5-1 home Premier League hammering of the Gunners last season, Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup success at the Emirates last February and the 2-2 draw at Anfield earlier this term.

Furthermore, in seven of Arsenal's last eight games there have been three or more goals as they have climbed into third place, one point behind Manchester City, on the back of a stunning run of nine wins in 10 matches.

France striker Olivier Giroud has played a large part in that sequence with 10 goals in 12 matches and he is set to resume his burgeoning partnership up front with Danny Welbeck, who is expected to recover from the knee injury that forced him to miss England's midweek friendly in Italy.

Likewise, Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling is set to shake off the toe injury that ruled him out of the game in Turin and boost the Merseyside club after their 2-1 home loss to Manchester United in their last Premier League game.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also hoping that Daniel Sturridge, another of his strikers, will be available, after a hip injury sidelined him for England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and the friendly with Italy.

The inclusion of Sterling and Sturridge would significantly enhance Liverpool's chances of making up the five-point lead United have over them in the battle for Champions League places and of contributing to an Emirates goal feast.

Liverpool v Manchester United
The battle for Champions League qualification will move up a gear at Anfield on Sunday as fifth-placed Liverpool attempt to leapfrog Manchester United into the vital fourth position, with the bitter rivals' in- form attacks leading the way.

United travel to Anfield on the back of their most commanding performance of the season in their 3-0 rout of Tottenham on Sunday, while Liverpool are on a sensational run of 10 wins in 13 Premier League games, which has lifted them from 10th to within two points of a Champions League spot.

Attack has been the name of the game lately for Brendan Rodgers' side, who have managed a minimum of 11 shots per match in five of their last six League games, with the highlight being 20 in their 2-0 home victory over Burnley.

United have been even more prolific, passing the 10 marker in each of their past six League games and managing an incredible 30 shots at goal in their 2-0 home success against Sunderland.

This Lancashire derby also has a history of attacking play, with 21 being the minimum total number of shots in a game over the past five encounters - in Liverpool's 1-0 home win in September 2013.

More frequently the tally has been in the 30s, with 35 the peak in United's 1-0 home success in the same month when the clubs met in the League Cup.

Rodgers has set Liverpool a target of 20 points from their final nine games, which means they cannot afford to lose more than two games, and they will be out for revenge after their 3-0 humbling at Old Trafford in December.

However, United manager Louis van Gaal now finally seems to have found an attacking combination that works, with Wayne Rooney leading the l ... MORE

Man United vs Spurs

If you are looking for goals this weekend, Old Trafford is the place to be, as history generally points to a
feast of scoring in the match between Manchester United and Tottenham.

Three or more goals have been chalked up in four of their last six meetings, with the highlight being Spurs' 3-2 victory at Old Trafford in September 2012.

Indeed, both the London club's visits to the 'Theatre of Dreams' in that period have resulted in matches involving three goals or more, as well as three points.

Even the clubs' recent form points to a goal spree on Sunday, with four of United's last six matches and eight of Spurs' last 11 producing three or more goals.

United will be eager to bounce back from their 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday night, which will leave them trophy-less for a second consecutive season.

After their massive summer spending spree they cannot afford to again fail to qualify for the Champions League. At present they are just two points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool.

Against the Gunners, United produced one of their better attacking displays under Louis van Gaal as they got the ball forward more quickly and used wingers Angel Di Maria and Ashley Young more productively, with Di Maria setting up Wayne Rooney's goal with a perfect cross.

However, at the other end, their defence was a shambles, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain beating four players before creating the opening from which Nacho Monreal scored Arsenal's first goal and Antonio Valencia gifting Danny Welbeck the winner with an appalling backpass.

Liverpool v Manchester City
The match officials could be in for a busy afternoon at Anfield on Sunday, when the Liverpool and Manchester City attacks try to fire their teams to three precious Premier League points for different reasons.

Patience won't be a virtue as the Lancashire rivals go hell for leather for victory, City in an attempt to close the gap on leaders Chelsea to two points while the London club concentrate on the Capital One Cup final, and sixth-placed Liverpool in a bid to strengthen their claim for a Champions League place.

Brendan Rodgers' men are only three points behind third-placed Arsenal after a stunning run in which they have lost just once in 18 matches and won five of their last six games.

Their attack is purring nicely in the shape of Philippe Coutinho, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge, but sometimes they are too quick for their own good and they have acquired a reputation for being caught offside frequently.

For example, in their 2-0 win at Aston Villa last month they were flagged five times - as they were in the corresponding fixture against City last April, which they won 3-2.

Manuel Pellegrini's side have also developed a recent trend for succumbing to the offside trap, being caught four times in the 4-1 romp at Stoke earlier this month and three apiece in the 1-1 home draw with Hull and at Chelsea.

The officials will therefore need to be on their guard for an encounter in which attacks have dominated in recent years, with a minimum of three goals having been scored in each of their last five meetings.

Tottenham vs. West Ham
West Ham - thrashed 4-0 at West Brom in the FA Cup fifth round last weekend and slated by some of their fans afterwards - are sure to be fired up at Tottenham on Sunday, when they will be looking to disrupt the home side's fluid style by fair means or foul.

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce will want to ensure there is no repeat of last Saturday's Hawthorns humiliation, especially as some supporters were calling for his sacking afterwards.

He is expected to have two key central defenders back after injury in Winston Reid and James Collins, which will allow Cheikhou Kouyate to return to midfield.

Adding extra spice to the occasion is speculation that Tottenham are keen to sign New Zealand international Reid, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Indeed, rivalry between these two London clubs appears to have moved on to a more feisty level of late, with the last two Premier League encounters between them producing a total of 48 fouls and three red cards.

Collins and Spurs right-back Kyle Naughton were sent off in Tottenham's 1-0 win at Upton Park in August, while Spurs centre-back Younes Kaboul saw red in the Hammers' 2-0 home victory in May.

With only five points separating sixth-placed Spurs and West Ham in eighth in the battle for Europa League places, White Hart Lane will be no place for the faint-hearted.

The clubs' combined fouls-per-game average in the Premier League this season of 24 looks sure to be exceeded.

Tottenham & West Ham combined fouls will be 24 or more @ Evens (2.0). Bet is unique to Tailorbet.
