John Ottman (born July 6, 1964) is an American film editor, composer, and director.
He is best known for his collaborations with film director Bryan Singer, acting as editor and composer for his films The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns (including adapting themes originally composed by John Williams), Valkyrie, Jack the Giant Slayer and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Other notable films he worked on as composer are Snow White: A Tale of Terror, the 2005 remake of House of Wax, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Invasion, and Astro Boy.

Ottman graduated from the School of Cinematic Arts of the University of Southern California in 1988. One of his first assignments was to provide original music for the computer game I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. In 2007, Ottman appeared in the documentary Finding Kraftland for his agent Richard Kraft.

"Remember You" is a song by American rapper Wiz Khalifa, released as the second single from his second studio album, O.N.I.F.C.. The track features Canadian singer The Weeknd and was produced by Dpat with Illangelo. The song samples "Tell Me Do U Wanna" by Ginuwine. It was released on September 24, 2012, via Atlantic's YouTube channel.
After delaying the album, Wiz Khalifa announced the second single of it, which is Remember You. He revealed the single's cover on his Twitter account, and it was later released on Atlantic's YouTube channel. In an interview with MTV News, Wiz Khalifa talked about the single stating it was a "beautiful idea of The Weeknd".
The official music video for the song was released on November 13, 2012. The Weeknd does not appear in the video.
Superman Returns is a 2006 American superhero film directed and produced by Bryan Singer. It is based on the DC Comics character Superman and serves as an homage sequel to the motion pictures Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980), ignoring the events of Superman III (1983) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). The film stars Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman, Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, with James Marsden, Frank Langella, and Parker Posey. The film tells the story of the title character returning to Earth after a five-year absence. He finds that his love interest Lois Lane has moved on with her life, and that his archenemy Lex Luthor is plotting a scheme that will destroy Superman and the world.
After a series of unsuccessful projects to resurrect Superman on the screen, Warner Bros. hired Bryan Singer to direct and develop Superman Returns in July 2004. The majority of principal photography took place at Fox Studios Australia, Sydney, while the visual effects sequences were created by a number of studios, including Sony Pictures Imageworks, Rhythm & Hues, Framestore, Rising Sun Pictures, and The Orphanage; filming ended in November 2005.
Midnight Waltz is an album by pianist Cedar Walton which was recorded in 2005 and released on the Japanese Venus label.
Allmusic reviewed the album stating "During his long career, Cedar Walton has been one of hard bop's most lyrical pianists, as demonstrated on this 2005 trio session for the Japanese label Venus. No matter the tempo or approach, it is very easy to find oneself singing along with Walton's infectious melodies".

John shares his approach to editing, why he edits first and scores last, how he's thinking creatively during his first read of the script, and so much more. Trance Tracks are part of Permanently Geek's Music Collective. Each track has been uniquely slowed down, manipulated & remixed from popular film, TV and game scores. This method of "stretching the track" allows music lovers to live inside their favorite songs. In 1998, hot off the success of The Usual Suspects, John Ottman was hired to score the much-anticipated film, Halloween H20. While most of his music was left on the cutting room floor, his most eloquent "Main Title" served as the heart of the picture, and stands as one of the finest adaptations of John Carpenter's classic Halloween theme. For this Trance Track, we have slowed that beautiful piece of music down by over 800%, thus revealing the wonderful, poetic and rich layers of John Ottman's incredible score. Enjoy! Permanently ...

John Ottman is a true Rennaisance Man. Producer. Director. Editor. And, easily, one of the most versatile and talented composers working in film today. In my book, his sweeping scores are just as moving and memorable as anything by Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, or John Williams. Along with his frequent collaborator, director Bryan Singer, John has played an integral part in the creation of several modern classics, having scored and edited such films as THE USUAL SUSPECTS, SUPERMAN RETURNS, VALKYRIE and most recently, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. If you don’t know John Ottman’s name, you’ve certainly seen and heard his work. John was generous enough to sit down with me to talk about his life and career, and having been a fan of his since I was twelve years old, I apologize to you...

John Ottman X Men Film Composer Slams Man Of Steel At Comic Con http://www.zennie62blog.com/2014/08/03/john-ottman-x-men-film-composer-slams-man-of-steel-at-comic-con/ John Ottman, the legendary composer of superhero movies like this year's X Men Days Of Future Past, X2, and Superman Returns, as well as other greats like The Usual Suspects, took time during our Comic Con 2014 interview to slam the score for Man of Steel that was created by Hans Zimmer. Ottman, like many, was upset that John Williams' masterfull theme for Superman was not used in Man of Steel. Ottman felt Man of Steel did not show proper reverence to Williams' work, which is ingrained in his head and was when Superman Returns was made. I saw the new one recently, and I was in shock. I could talk for an hour about that,...

Once again, I sit down with Composer, Editor, Director and Producer John Ottman to discuss his prolific career. In this episode, John digs deep to talk SUPERMAN RETURNS, the FANTASTIC FOUR films and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
John Ottman talks Jack And The Giant Slayer in an interview that is extremely informative and an absolute blast! We chat about the nightmarish logistics behind being the composer, editor and associate producer on a project. In a completely fun fashion he discusses the dread he feels when Bryan Singer calls him up for a film since he knows lots of hard work is to follow, but it always pays off. John shares his approach to editing, why he edits first and scores last, how he's thinking creatively during his first read of the script, and so much more. This interview is extremely informative and extremely fun. John also spills a little bit about X-Men: Days Of Future Past and shares his frustration about the lack of musical continuity in most comic book film franchises. One of the most entertai...
