Suitcase

A suitcase is a general term for a distinguishable form of luggage. It is often a somewhat flat, rectangular-shaped bag with rounded/square corners, either metal, hard plastic or made of cloth, vinyl or leather that more or less retains its shape. It has a carrying handle on one side and is used mainly for transporting clothes and other possessions during trips. It opens on hinges like a door. Suitcases lock with keys or a combination.

History

Originally, suitcases were made of wool or linen. Leather also became a popular material for suitcases. It was used to cover wood suitcases or just on its own for collapsible suitcases. It is difficult to document all the materials suitcases have been made out of. Like all produced consumer goods the materials chosen to construct suitcases are truly a product of their time. Wool, wood, leather, metal, plastic, fiber composite even recycled materials are all common suitcase materials. During covered wagon times trunks were a popular form of transporting goods. The ride was rough, so the luggage had to be strong. The theme of suitcases becoming less cumbersome over time could be directly related to the advancement of better transportation.

Matthew Koma

Matthew Koma (born Matthew Bair, June 2, 1987) is an American singer, songwriter and DJ born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, New York. Inspired by Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen, Koma started his music career in punk rock, later transitioning into a mixture of genres ranging from Pop and Hip Hop to Electronic Dance Music. Koma's early collaborations include work with Hardwell, Zedd, Miriam Bryant, Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Tiesto, Vicetone and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. His collaboration with Zedd has been his most notable accomplishment to date with their song "Spectrum" being premiered by Rolling Stone and spending two weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club chart.

Career

Koma was noticed by Jimmy Iovine who signed him to Interscope Records after watching an acoustic performance of the record "She". He later released his first EP, Parachute, in May 2012, in which he wrote, produced and co-produced all four tracks with collaborators Twice as Nice, Alex da Kid, Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello, and Ari Levine. Since then he has taken part in the Sorry For Party Rocking worldwide tour with LMFAO and Far East Movement, and more recently finished touring with the band Owl City. In March 2012, Bruce Springsteen released "Rocky Ground," a remix that Koma co-produced with Ron Aniello as a single from his album Wrecking Ball.

Adele Emily Sandé (/ˈsændeɪ/ SAN-day; born 10 March 1987), better known as Emeli Sandé, is a Scottish recording artist and songwriter. She first became prominent after she featured on the track "Diamond Rings" by the rapper Chipmunk (2009). It was their first top 10 single on the UK Singles Chart. In 2010, she featured on "Never Be Your Woman" by the rapper Wiley, which was another top ten hit. In 2012, she received the Brit Awards Critics' Choice Award.

Sandé released her first solo single "Heaven" in August 2011. She has three number-one singles across the UK and Ireland with "Read All About It" with Professor Green, "Next to Me", and "Beneath Your Beautiful", a collaboration with Labrinth. Her album Our Version of Events spent seven non-consecutive weeks at number one and became the best-selling album of 2012 in the UK, with over 1 million sales. In 2012, she performed in both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. She won two Brit Awards at the 2013 ceremony, Best British Female Artist, and British Album of the Year.

Before You Exit is an American pop band from Orlando, Florida. Formed in 2007, the band originally consisted of Connor McDonough, Braiden Wood and Thomas Silvers. A year later, the band included Connor's younger brother, Riley. In mid-2012, Toby McDonough joined, and the lineup changed to the three brothers with Braiden and Thomas for live performances. Braiden later left the band to pursue a solo career. In August 2009, they self-released their debut EP, A Short Story Long. March 2011 saw the release of another EP, Letting Go. "I Like That" was released in February 2013. In July 2015, they released their single "Model".

2008–11

In 2009, they released an EP, A Short Story Long. The first tour that the band took part in was All Time Low's 2010 My Small Package Tour. They became a supporting act in the middle of the tour. They also played a few shows on All Time Low's 2011 tour, the Dirty Work Tour.

Mary J. Blige

Mary Jane Blige (/ˈblaɪʒ/; born January 11, 1971) is an American singer, songwriter, model, record producer and actress. Blige also received the Voice of Music Award from performance rights organization ASCAP, with its official Jeanie Weems stating that "[Blige's] music has been the voice of inspiration to women worldwide in both struggle and triumph." Blige made Time magazine's "Time 100" list of influential individuals around the world in 2007.
