George McGeachie guarding the post in a game against Rangers on 5th Feb 1983, a match that ended in a 1-1 draw. This league game was at Ibrox, but amazingly, it only attracted a 7,000 crowd.
There was also another George McGeachie who played for DFC in the early 60's but I haven't been able to discover if they are related. If anyone knows, drop it in the comments.

DUNDEE FC PENNANT FROM THE 70'S
From around the mid 70's era is this original DFC pennant which I'm sure a few of you probably had on your wall at the time. A little tatty near the bottom but otherwise in top notch condition. This was made of a plastic/pvc type of material which has probably helped keep it in such good nick after 4 decades.

Eric Sinclair on the cover of this Official Handbook from the 1981-82 season.
Although it is twice the price of the previous one, it has pretty much the same content - a word from DFC Director Ian Gellatly - match action photos - a message from manager Donald MacKay - player profiles on Bobby Geddes, Iain Ferguson, Albert Kidd & David Bell - a quiz - squad picture and info - item about coach Ken Wimshurst - club history and the new fixtures.

JIM McLEAN AT DENS
No booing now..!!
He actually looks quite cheery here. It must have been his move across the road that turned him soor...!!!
Anyway, his time as a DFC player was from 1965 to 68, where he notched up 120 games in total.
He was even Dundee's top scorer one year - the 1966/67 season.
It took him a few games to get going though - his dark blue debut in Sept 65, ironically against United, saw us get walloped 5-0!!
This photo was taken in 1970, during the time he was first team coach.

ALAN COUSIN - A DECADE A DEE
Alan Cousin was at Dens from 1955 to 1965, and as a consequence, has him in Dundee's top 10 longest serving players of all time with a whopping 384 appearances. Being a striker, he has also banged in rather a lot of goals in his time - 141 to be precise - the club's 4th highest scorer. He was the Dees top scorer 3 seasons on the trot - 1957/58 - 1958/59 - 1959/60. The era he played saw him win the Scottish League title in 1962 and take part in the following famous European Cup run. In 1959 he represented Scotland twice at international level.
The above photo was taken in his final year with Dundee in 1965.
