Initiation gone right:
Still the greatest quote in football.
" That's great, tell him he's Pele and get him back on " _John Lambie, Patrick Thistle manager, when told that his striker did not know who he was after suffering a concussion.

Lol, you know what would be even more crazy than that manager? If the guy actually played as good as Pele if he were told that.
Sanchez: "I want to play in the Champions League. The decision doesn't depend on me, I have to wait for Arsenal."
While I would like to see him at City, he would be a luxury signing for us whereas Chelsea & United would really benefit from his signing.

No luxury for me, get Sanchez bench Sterling, Sanchez could teach him a few lessons, especially on finishing.
Sanchez and Aguero? What a mouth watering combo, I'd take that two piece any day.

Eh, as per usual you're missing the bigger picture - Sterling was one of our outstanding performers last year and besides Sterling will be competing with Jesus, B. Silva, and even KdB for that position. Again, it would be nice to have Sanchez who can play in any position in the front but we have good cover there already, hence he is not a necessary signing.
^We can be the next Real Madrid, they have stars and still keeps signing stars, no matter the position, are you a world beater? We want you on our team, simple, maybe that's why they are so successful. What is it Three Champions League in a row now? I've lost count.
When a star player gets injured they have someone at thee same level to bring on, they don't feel it, don't ask me how they keep everyone happy though, that would be the only problem, unless you have success rotating like crazy.

Why did Spurs sale K. Walker? Ya they got a lot of money but they sold a player from their starting team to a rival. What does that say about there ambition and desire to win?
Probably the same as Liverpool's ambition/desire when they sold us Sterling, except Spurs seems stronger.
For me it's only one player, a very good player true, but it's not like they went on a selling spree removing the core of the team, most of the core players are still there and no doubt they will add more talent with the money they earned.
Sterling came to City to be a bench warmer while Walker is going to be a starter. On top of that we finished 6th or 7th when we sold Sterling.
^^ "Sterling came to City to be a bench warmer" - do you really believe this, ah LOL...
Sterling since joining us played in:
2015/2016 - 47 games (31 PL games + others)
2016/2017 - 47 games (33 PL games + others)
Not too bad for a "bench warmer":D
ScouserDan:
lol Mane the magnificent. You're welcome for the money, I'm sure Southampton will make better use of it :P

Sterling also wanted CL which we couldn't offer at the time, while Tottenhsm finished 2nd they are potential title challengers.
Can someone explain to me the interest in Oxlade Chambelain? Hes never realized his potential and is basically just another wilshere. Why are Arsenal even that determined to keep him.
I think he actually fits really well into their squad when they play the 3-4-2-1. Don't know if he has enough quality as a stand-alone winger or fullback, but he seems to have found his place as a decent wingback, at least when I've watched him there. That's a formation that Arsenal found success in the later part of their season, and it's a tough position to replace in the market.
Ok so I'm reading sky and I'm seeing pundits having us as favourites for the title, why every single season!?
Chelsea has a very strong squad, they won the title last season, Spurs have a talented young squad, they came close to winning two seasons now, Liverpool are strengthening and getting better each year, Arsenal has bought Lacazette, and if they keep Sanchez and Ozil they could be a threat, Manchester United have Pogba and a lot of top players and also just bought Lukaku the world class striker, so why us? We have failed so many times, I mean come on Leicester won the league before we could.
I'm starting to think these pundits are either clueless, trolls, or maybe just MCFC closet fans.

We are buying pundits. That's all. Good value, I say. Time to start buying referees. That would tip the scales lol
We are the only EPL team in the top 10 of UEFA rankings, which is why we gonna be in the 2nd pot for the Champions league draw, no other team in the EPL has been as consistent in the Champions League for the past few years as Man City, perhaps thats why?
Plus keep in mind we had tons of bad luck last season as well....KDB hitting record posts and bars? i think he hit the post 15 times last season which is record breaking...the injuries to key players like Gabriel Jesus? the scandal with Yaya Toure's situation plus the game against Monaco we ended with 6 - 6 but the away goal rule went against us. First 10 games we won pretty comfortably

First off, because pundits are no better than me and you and everybody else on this forum. They are either bias or play safe on predictions.
City are simply favourites on paper, none of the pundits support City so they have the easy neutral ground option

They think because we spend a lot, were the favorites to win. Although this season we should be in the title race without a doubt, would be big let down if we fall out. If we can sort out the FBs and get another CB. Why not?
Although getting title now is much harder than a few seasons back. Money alone won't win anything, their are 5 other teams going for the title just as strong as City.

@Aguerocity I don't accept that bad luck excuse, if that's the case that means every season we don't win the games it's because of injuries or bad luck? No, just wasn't good enough.
Chelsea won the title the year before Liecester and after, logically pundits should be backing Chelsea, I don't get it.
@Moe, just as strong as City hence why I don't get why we are favorites after letting down the predictions season after season lol.

@Aguerocity - Dont go by UEFA ranking of only this year dude. Because Chelsea , United have missed last seasons. Apart from that over last 10 years Chelsea, United and maybe Liverpool are the only PL teams consistently in CL. City have only made 1 Semi and 1 QF in 8 CL appearance in last decade.
City are fav. because of signings and Pep ofcourse not because of some UEFA ranking.
@Silva - Chelsea are not fav. because of striker uncertainty and lack of signings so far. I hope it will change by end of transfer window

@bazinga if thats the case UEFA will change its rules when it comes to ranking and facts speak louder and fact is we are the most consistent team in the Champions league hence why we are the only EPL team in the top 10. Chelsea and United missing last seasons? well maybe you don't play good football thats why you missed last seasons? maybe we play better football thats why we didn't miss last seasons? When UEFA comes out with a ranking order they don't come up with it overnight, there is a lot of considerations and thinking and work involved before they come out with certain rules for the UEFA rankings
@SilvaMaestro16 if you listen to Ranieri's comments after he was sacked he talked about how the season they won the league every shot they made would hit the post and go in but the following season every shot would hit the post and go out and he blamed it on bad luck and this is a professional manager we are talking. Had KDB gotten a little bit of luck and converted those 15+ posts into goals we are talking a completely different season here.
To a squad loaded with talent u guys just added Kyle Walker, Silva, Ederson, and soon possibly Mendy. In other words u improved the starting team in 4 positions. Now do u see why they are saying you will win the league?
going by Bazinga's logic Aston Villa has won the champions league so they are more successful than man city and should be ranked higher than man city in the UEFA ranking list
True Lucas, however don't forget most of those signings will be new to the PL, no guarantee they will be a hit right off the bat.
I think the expectation is that Pep's system is going to work in the second season and that your defense will minimize its individual mistakes that were committed due to the uncertainty of the system in the first season. The attack is already good, young, and energetic. The midfield is solid, and you're adding fullbacks (Walker and Mendy) that are more athletic and better in attack than previous ones (Clichy and Zabaleta).
Of course it's all a shot in the dark when you consider the fact that Leicester won the league two years ago. Six teams can realistically envision themselves as title contenders, the hat just has to hang on someone.

Aguerocity - ok bro city are the most successful PL team in CL. No point discussion future when you compare Villa.
Point still remains that city are not fav. because of UEFA ranking.

Whats your take on the UEFA ranking?

With Chelsea , United and Pool back in CL it will soon go back to what it use to be before. wait for couple of seasons.
The best tweet banter of the summer between a Everton fan vs Manchester United fan.
Man.utd fan name @CantonaManc, felt he had the perfect reasoning for referring to Everton as " our bitch " due to the fact that they'd convinced the Tofees star forward to move to Old Trafford for the second time in 13 years.
@CantonaManc tweet; 13 years ago we took their best player, now we've slung him back and took their current player. Everton our our bitch.
wait for it lol
Everton fan @keef1985
We sent you David Moyes and destroyed a 25 year dynasty in 6 months. Your move, Chuckles.
Classic!

Lol I think Everton might have the last laugh on this one or it'll probably be a stalemate lol, we'll see. Let's not forget Moysie was doing a pretty good job at Everton, but it's a lot different when you move to a top club and the pressure is on.
The UTD fan asked for it. I think it's a win for the Everton fan. I still have nightmares about Moyes lol
