My name is Dr. Joseph Nicolosi. For many years, I have been assisting men and women --mostly, persons who are still at a crossroads about their sexual identity-- to reduce their same-sex attractions and explore their heterosexual potential.
Perhaps you experience same-sex attractions, but you believe you were not destined to be gay. You believe that these feelings do not represent "who you really are."
If this is your belief, then you may be interested in my posted videos and my website, josephnicolosi.com. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who shares your vision of humanity. I believe that our bodies tell us who we are, and that our bodies have made us for heterosexuality, gender complementarity, and opposite-sex parenting.
I have helped many men reduce their unwanted same-sex attractions, so that they lose their compelling, life-disrupting power, and assisted them in exploring and developing their heterosexual potential.
In 1992, I and two psychiatrists organized a professional association called NARTH-- the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (see www.narth.com). Today, NARTH has over 1000 members around the world.

This paper examines over 100 years of professional and scientific literature on the subject of unwanted homosexuality, offering a strong case that for at least some people, sexual orientation and sexual identity can be modified.

Nicolosi (Sicilian: Niculùsi) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, located about 160 kilometres (99 mi) southeast of Palermo and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) northwest of Catania.
Nicolosi borders the following municipalities: Adrano, Belpasso, Biancavilla, Bronte, Castiglione di Sicilia, Maletto, Mascalucia, Pedara, Randazzo, Sant'Alfio, Zafferana Etnea.

Joseph Nicolosi
Joseph Nicolosi (born January 21, 1947) is an American clinical psychologist, founder and director of the Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic in Encino, California, and a founder and former president of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH). Nicolosi has advocated and practiced reparative therapy, a practice that he claims can help people overcome or mitigate their homosexual desires and replace them with heterosexual ones.
Nicolosi has described his theories in Reparative Therapy of Male Homosexuality: A New Clinical Approach and three other books. Nicolosi proposes that homosexuality is often the product of a condition he describes as gender-identity deficit caused by an alienation from, and perceived rejection by, individuals of the subject's gender. He holds a Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology. Nicolosi is a founding member of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) and was its president for some time. NARTH is a professional association that promotes the acceptance of conversion therapy, whose adherents purport successfully changing homosexuals into heterosexuals. He is an advisor to, and officer of, NARTH.

Conversion therapy
Conversion therapy, also called reparative therapy, is any treatment that aims to change sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Such treatments have been criticized as pseudoscience and are controversial. Medical, scientific, and government organizations in the United States and Britain have expressed concern over conversion therapy and consider it potentially harmful.United States Surgeon General David Satcher in 2001 issued a report stating that "there is no valid scientific evidence that sexual orientation can be changed".
The American Psychiatric Association opposes "any psychiatric treatment, such as 'reparative' or conversion therapy, which is based upon the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder or based upon the a priori assumption that a patient should change his/her sexual homosexual orientation" and describes attempts to change sexual orientation by practitioners as unethical. It also states that debates over the integration of gay and lesbian people have obscured science "by calling into question the motives and even the character of individuals on both sides of the issue" and that the advancement of conversion therapy may cause social harm by disseminating unscientific views about sexual orientation. As a solution, today's mental health profession advocates for societal change rather than changing individuals' sexual orientation.
