Vincent Lamar Carter (born January 26, 1977) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6'6" and can play both shooting guard and small forward.
A high school McDonald's All-American, Carter played three years at the University of North Carolina. While there, he twice reached the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament before being selected as the fifth overall pick in the 1998 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors, who traded him to the Toronto Raptors. He won the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year Award and won the Slam Dunk Contest at the 2000 NBA All-Star Weekend. That summer, he represented the United States in the Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal.
He quickly emerged as a league star, entertaining crowds with his leaping ability and slam dunks, earning him nicknames such as "Vinsanity", "Air Canada", and "Half-Man, Half-Amazing".
He led the Raptors to their first three playoff appearances. In 2004, he was traded to the New Jersey Nets, and he helped lead them to three playoff berths. In July 2009, Carter was traded to the Orlando Magic, and helped them advance to the Eastern Conference finals before being traded to the Phoenix Suns in December 2010. He joined the Mavericks in 2011 and the Grizzlies in 2014.

A new NBA fan, whose only knowledge of Kyle Anderson is that he scored twenty points for the Spurs in the last game of a sweep (and that he has an infinite forehead), would be surprised to learn that this is only the sixth double-digit scoring game for Anderson in his career. Apparently, the key to unlocking his inner scoring beast is to set your team up for a sweep in the playoffs by injuring your best player. If the Spurs did that every game, we might have seen a little more life out of Anderson in the regular season. I can already tell that this highlight video will become the quintessential highlights package for young Mr. Anderson. It has everything that we've come to expect from the guy lovingly nicknamed "Slo-mo": layups, jumpers, freakishly gigantic foreheads, a three-pointer, and...
I found it funny that the only guy who Kyle "Slo-Mo" Anderson could take one-on-one in this game was Vince Carter, the one wing in the league who might be slower than Slo-Mo himself. Even then, he could only abuse the matchup a few times, and relied on his sweet midrange game to get him points when he realized he didn't have enough juice to get all the way to the cup. Eventually, Anderson will have to start displaying this kind of scoring on a regular basis. He's got one more year left on his rookie deal, but not many teams want a utility player who scores eight points per 36 minutes. The only wing players who averaged fewer field goal attempts (adjusting for minutes) were guys like Solomon Hill, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Andre Roberson. Anderson does have some scoring ability (I think), s...
Not only is this game Kyle Anderson's season high, it's also one off his career high of fifteen. I don't know if I should be impressed that he had such a relatively good performance, or disappointed that fourteen points is an exceptionally large amount of points for him. Maybe I'm feeling both those things. Anderson has been a chronic do-nothinger for his entire time in the NBA. This year he's averaging a blistering eight points per 36 minutes - among players who regularly get minutes, Andre Roberson, Solomon Hill, and Omer Asik are down there with him at the bottom of the NBA scoring pit. I get the feeling that Spurs fans are tired of waiting for his development and want him to be more assertive. I certainly would tire quickly of a player who not only doesn't score, but doesn't even seem...

Kyle Anderson is ranked #2 in the country by Rivals, but Kevin Durant sees it differently, he recently dubbed Anderson the best player in the country in the class of 2012. It's easy to see why the 6'8 point guard from New Jersey gets such high praise. Nicknamed "Slow-Mo", Anderson isn't the most athletic player on the court in most cases but his basketball IQ and advanced skill set keep him a notch above the competition. Kyle recently committed to play college ball at UCLA.
