Ram Trucks was launched in 2010 under Fiat Chrysler as a way to fill the gap in the market place for true truck enthusiasts. Ram Trucks took its name from another Chrysler subsidiary, Dodge, and more specifically the iconic Ram truck range.Since then it has started importing vehicles into Australia with the help of American Special Vehicles as a joint venture between the Walkinshaw Automotive Group and Ateco Automotive. The Ram Trucks available in Australia are completely re-configured to right hand drive for Australian motorists, as the only company that has approval from Ram Trucks to perform the modification. For Australian buyers there are only two models available as of right now, the Laramie 2500 and the Laramie 3500.
