Oh how the synchronicities happen here at Burning The Ground! Paul, over the weekend, Karen and my nephew Jimmy came for a quick visit. He’s in band and plays the trombone. Well, his Mom was telling us that the band is going to do some swing numbers, like “Zoot Suit Riot”, “Jump, Jive ‘An Wail” and “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Well, I thought that I’d make them a CD with these songs and more of the Swing music revival. Now, here it is Tuesday and you’re showcasing, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by Company B. Now, this has always been a favorite of Karen and me ever since we discovered the 12-inch when it first came out. (Flashback to a mix tape I made with Madonna’s “Hanky Panky” on it!!) Oh wow, you really bring out the memories Paul, and in three dimension!! I am thrilled to finally hear this 12-inch version over again. You’ve made my day with you psychic attunement to your readers’ wants and wishes.

    THRILLED!!!

    Jeff

Bonus Beats: I’ll have to send you my copy of the record because it comes in a picture sleeve and I know how much you love the visual medium!

Paul, thanks for dusting this one off and presenting it to us in all its splendor! I forgot about the dub version which is so KICK ASS!! I could really see a talented DJ going to town on this one and bringing out some seriously mental multi-edits!! I so wish others would get excited. This song is a classic. Bette Midler did a cover of it and, remember Christina Aguilera did a very “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” inspired tune with her “Candy Man” a few years back? This music makes one feel really good and happy too. I even thought of “Doop” by Doop too. I love when people can reach into the past and bring something back with a modern twist. I’m just so pumped because, never, in my wildest dream did I think I would ever hear this 12-inch version again, especially done in your stellar sound quality. Karen is pleased as punch too! I almost want to start to learn how to jitter bug because of this one. I could see this big at weddings instead of the usual and tired “In The Mood” by Glenn Miller Orchestra. Hey, fun is fun and this one has it in large amounts!!

    Thanks again Paul!!

    Jeff
