Criminality Within WCAI's Leadership

The fallout from WCAI's Joey De Luca and his dispute with the Alberta Citizens Coalition (ACC) over the planned Edmonton protest at the legislature and subsequent decision to hold his own event in Calgary while at the same time sabotage the event in Edmonton continues today:

If there's one thing we've come to learn about Joey though, it is just how humble he is:

De Luca also mentions the June 24 rally he's planning. I'll
have more on that in a future article.

But aside from Joey trying to compare penis size with other Islamophobic groups that have sprung up that are so far beneath his level of importance that he shouldn't even have to bother to speak to them unless they are at the minimum the head of a national organization (yeah, yeah, it's a run on sentence), the dispute has resulted in ARC learning something about Joey:

"Assault charge?"

Thank you Joey. I genuinely appreciate your inept efforts to make my job so much easier.

First, De Luca isn't a Calgarian by birth. Born in 1983, he is originally from British Columbia which is confirmed by his two Facebook profiles:

Knowing this, that his birth name is Giuseppe, and that it is very easy to find criminal records from British Columbia online, I took a little stroll along the Interweb and....

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 6 - WCAI and ACC Continue to Attack Each Other

It doesn't appear to an end in sight in the ongoing fight between two Canadian Islamophobic groups based out of Alberta. The last article ARC published included the screen shots of an hours long argument over a planned rally in Edmonton organized by Alberta Citizen's Council. Members of the ACC were adamant that an even more extreme hate group, WCAI Canada, not promote the event since the WCAI's overt hatred of Muslims diminished the respectability of the ACC organized event.

And fyi, the ACC aren't any less Islamophobic as evidenced by the posts made by the head of the group. They just want to keep that part of the group on the down-low for the duration of the Edmonton event in order to attract those, "legit big time speakers" who might otherwise shy away.

Long story, short, Deluca and his WCAI as well as their allied group the Canadian Combat Coalition decided to pull out of Edmonton and instead participate in a Calgary rally, which would then result in two Alberta-based protests.

However, if Deluca had it his way, he and his wounded ego would very much like the Edmonton event to fail, a sentiment expressed in the video that was also published on the previous article after the argument had run it's course:

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 5 - Troubles With Edmonton Rally

You know, I had fully intended on writing a few other articles this week primarily focusing on the upcoming anti-government/Islamophobe rally scheduled for Ottawa on June 3 as well as the WCAI event (which is explicitly anti-Muslim) planned for June 24 in Calgary. I also have a great article that was submitted by the reader who provided ARC with the fantastic article on the SoO in Ottawa. And I WILL get to those eventually.

However, sometimes karma is good to me.

A few days ago, this article came out:

So Begins the Alt-Right Purity Spiral

Basically, the article details the factionalism that has been occurring within the alt-right which is something this blog as also been reporting on. And much like the fist fight between fellow bigots Ronnie Cameron and Eric Brazau that occurred on May 6 in Toronto, this article includes and example of internecine violence as well:

Even before I began this series of article on the infighting occurring between anti-government and anti-Muslim groups in Canada, it was clear that there was significant fracturing beginning due to the egos (and, let's be honest, stupidity) of the leadership and members of these groups. The low to middle level bickering has continued since the commencement of this project, but today, well, things became somewhat nuclear.

A group going by the name of the Alberta Citizen's Council has organized a rally in Edmonton to protest the legislation and actions of the federal and provincial governments. The Alberta Citizen's Council is also associated with the Canadian Coalition of Concerned Citizens (CCCC) which organized the anti-M103 rallies across the country which met with varying levels of success. As such there is some overlap of folks that ARC keeps tabs on, including Joey Deluca of the Worldwide Coalition Against Islam (WCAI)

In fact, ARC has Joey to thank for this article, since his lax concern for security and compulsion for self-promotion has made it all possible:

Joey shared this with 89 individuals, at least some of whom may or may not be mutual friends of one of ARC's sock puppets which means I got to see it as well as these people:

And their friends also got to see the shit storm that resulted, as alluded to by Deluca in a video he uploaded after the day's events in which he further trashed his erstwhile fellow travelers:

I'm often rightfully accused of being pedantic, so I'm just going to cut to the chase. What follows is a thread that occurred over a series of hours and deals with a dispute over the WCAI's unwelcome involvement in the June 3 Edmonton protest organized by the Alberta Citizen's Council. It is very long and while I may have missed a few comments, it is probably about 95% complete.

People of note involved in the thread:
  • Joey Deluca: Founder of WCAI, vanilla and cherry Coke aficionado and resident of Calgary.
  • Dena Gallant: Facebook administrator (perhaps) of the Alberta Citizen's Council and, according to Deluca, beneath him (edit: fine, I'll behave, but could I make fun of his giant head still?). Upset that the mere possibility that WCAI might be involved in the protest has frightened off "legit big name" speakers whom she does not name, though she does imply Brian Jean.
  • Jeff Sharpe: Seems to be the head of the Alberta Citizen's Council who is upset that his rally has been ruined! Ruined he says!
  • Christopher Hayes: Formerly associated with SoO, now Saskatchewan rep for WCAI. Currently inconvenienced by criminal conviction involving threats towards the prime minister because Chris is a classy mofo.
  • Mike Waine: Co-organizer of Ottawa rally on June 3. Threatened this writer in a reply to a post he doesn't think I saw. It was adorable.
  • Steven Alexander Gregory Myatt: Robert Edmund Theophilus Horncastle  Netherwallop Jr. Co-organizer of Ottawa rally on June 3. One of our newest fans.
  • Stephen Garvey: Leader of the National Advancement Party. Finished dead last in most recent Alberta by-election in Calgary (worse than even his previous dismal result) which by some strange calculus that I am unfamiliar with, probably counts as a great moral victory..
  • Jesse Wielenga: WCAI member from Manitoba and antisemitic dickhead.
  • Devon Mannix: Kellie Leitch supporter and full-on white nationalist who, to his credit, doesn't pretend that "old stock" Canadian isn't about white Canadians.
  • David Troute: Formerly a leader in the SoO, now the president of the Guardians of Alberta (GOA). Not actually a fish.
  • Ryan "Alberta" Dean: Formerly of the SoO, formerly vice-president of the GOA, not president of the Canadian Combat Coalition because (a) these people seem to have a problem with commitment and (b) they appear to be running out of words to describe their personal vanity projects.
  • Karyn Draper: Not a fan of Catholics either, Karyn has attended a number of anti-government/anti-Muslim rallies.... she should find a more productive hobby
  • And assorted conspiracy nutters, bigots, and hotheads.
Come for the petty squabbling and insults. Stay for the giant egos and threats.

Soldiers of Odin Continue to Disintegrate

Our friends in the Soldiers of Odin are continuing to have a rough go of it lately:

Having their social media presence disrupted is certainly an inconvenience, but bitter curmudgeon Joe Clark (who has been a fan of ARC for a number of years) has alluded to a much more significant problem:

Meet Mike Montague, the SoO's national spokesperson and arguably the most visible member of the group.

That should all be past tense now:

That's got to sting.

White Supremacist Threat in Ottawa-Gatineau: The Local Soldiers of Odin

The following is an article that was submitted by a reader and activist who lives in the Ottawa area and who has been researching the Soldiers of Odin and associated individuals and groups for some time. This article is especially relevant considering the Canadian leadership of the SoO claim they have broken with Finland over the latter's ties to racism. If this individual wishes to contribute any future articles, ARC would welcome those contributions.

A Soldiers of Odin (SoO) section has started to ramp up activity in Ottawa-Gatineau recently, possibly divided formally between the two cities but working closely together. Their members were seen openly providing “protection” at the Canadian Coalition of Concerned Citizens (CCCC) rally in front of Parliament Hill on March 21:

From left to right: Stéphane Vaillancourt, Serge Côté, unknown woman, James Simpson,
Ken Urquhart, Éric Cloutier, “Kyle Zomgee”, Jason Moore and “Tru Blu”

It seems that a few days later two of their members were seen talking about their group at an open-house event in Hull’s mosque which was reported by local media. Around that time, they have also posted pictures on Facebook from a night patrol in the Mont-Bleu neighbourhood, in an area densely populated by immigrants. It bears mentioning that, in living memory, the only recent murder to have taken place there was done by the cops, against a single mother with disabilities. The thing with SoO though is that they like to call the police when they see something they find suspicious, so you can bet their actions won't lead to increased security in any neighbourhood they step foot it:

Like other SoO chapters in the country, members of this section proclaim that they are a grassroots-based organization dedicated to ensure community safety and deny any links with racial views. During their visit to the mosque, they aimed to dispel any fears the Muslim community might have had towards their intentions. A close inspection of a few of their members’ real views however reveals connections with white supremacy and particular hatred of Muslims:

Journalist Assaulted By Anti-Muslim Protesters in Toronto

ARC has just learned that there was an incident at the anti-Muslim rally yesterday. It seems that the Islamophobic "free speech" protesters opposed to M103 decided to assault a journalist engaging in freedom of expression (and the press) because they didn't approve of HIS "free speech."

Meet Spencer Polap, pictured here with now defacto Conservative Leadership front runner Maxime Bernier. Spencer is a member of the III%ers, the quasi-militia movement originating in the United States that believes that they must arm themselves to oppose black people.... er.... immigrants and refugees fleeing war zones.... that's not right either. Maybe to protect the Confederate battle flag. Uhm, no, I'll get this right yet.... protest taxes on beer and cigarettes?

Damn it. I can never get their current motivations straight.

Well, if it's problematic justifying the existence of this militia group in the United States, imagine how difficult it is to justify these weekend warriors squeezing themselves into ill-fitting camo and air soft gear in Canada:

As much as I would like to continue to make fun of them, because they really are patently ridiculous, the III%ers with their overblown "alpha male" ego and the willingness to hurt people, particularly if they outnumber those people, do pose a threat to individuals. And that threat was felt most distinctively by journalist Kevin Metcalf:

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 4

The previous post entitled, "Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 3" was going to be the last in the series for a while as there were other articles I've been working on, but then I was given a gift by a reader that sort of screamed for a fourth entry.

In a few cities today, at least Toronto and Calgary, there were anti-Muslim rallies. The event in Calgary had only between 10 and 15 individuals show up. In Toronto, though the organizers had hoped for at least 200 and one of them (Ronny Cameron) suggested 100 had shown up, Arthur Smitherman contradicted this number:

Today the anti-Muslim protesters seemed to be outnumbered by a significant margin by anti-fascists, were kept bottled up in one area, and were unable to move.... so it was labeled a total triumph by the anti-Muslim side.

Well, there was certainly a punch. Keep reading. ;)

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 3

This is as much a bit of a PSA to Anti-Racist Canada's allies as it is a spotlight on Islamophobic bigots.

I'm going to post the screen shot of a fake Facebook group:

Whoever created this group has no affiliation with anti-fascists in the city of Calgary. It is in fact one of a number of fake sites created (we know of ones in British Columbia, Edmonton, and two additional fake page in Calgary) over the past couple of weeks. The consensus amongst activists is that these sites are intended to both gather intelligence on anti-fascist supporters as well as to smear the anti-fascist movement:

"Naed Nayr's" profile photo is a symbol used by the ridiculously named Canadian Combat Coalition, a group (such as it is) affiliated with WCAI Canada. The head of the group was once a member of the Soldiers of Odin but, as has been happening frequently during the past several months, broke (or was kicked out, depending on whom one believes) and started his own hate group.

The fake Calgary antifa group was taken down by Facebook, but not before images such as this were posted to the site and disseminated in Islamophobic and racist circles:

While anti-fascists have been wary of such disinformation campaigns, our opposition is far more naive it seems, as evidenced by Meir Weinstein who appears to accept without question a tongue-in-cheek article making fun of the idea that George Soros is cutting checks for every leftist protester who is able to participate in a drum circle:

There has been an effort to push back against this campaign, though the effort is more focused on keeping anti-fascists in the loop since the bigots tend to believe whatever confirms their biases anyways:

Again, the consensus is that Pegida Canada Watch is on the right track:

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 2

The Islamophobic groups ARC have been following for the past few years really like rallies and protests. They also seem think that these events are of great historical significance and are the first steps towards "taking Canada back" from the darker coloured folks whom they characterize as invaders and the duly elected government whom they believe are tyrannical despots, an indication that they wouldn't know a tyrannical despot if one sat on their faces and started to wiggle:

They are also big on pig roasts of late. I guess they believe this is the ultimate insult to Muslims. Got to tell you folks, the Muslims I know don't care if I eat a BLT, and since they aren't invited to this event, I don't know that they're going to care at all. It is sort of reminiscent of Ron Banerjee and a few of his malcontents "sticking it to the Muzzies" by walking dogs in front of a Toronto mosque believing that Muslims hate dogs; the only thing that happened was that a lot of Muslims came by to pet the dogs. Also, since these groups have allied themselves with extremist Hindus (like Banerjee) as well as the JDL, do they not realize that Jews also have a dietary prohibition when it comes to pork?

Okay, that was quite the digression. Back to the point.

In any case, this event promises 1,000,000 men and women marching on Ottawa to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Trudeau and the rest of the Liberal Party. Or perhaps a million is merely a symbolic number? At any rate with a month to go it seems that they are currently 999,611 short of this particular goal.

I also have to question the organizational skills of those who are planning this event.

There seems to be two key figures. The first, Mike Waine, has made a plea for money for what he believes will be of historic proportions and that people who attend will proudly tell their grandchildren that they were there:

To be fair, he is right. Even is only the current 389 individuals make this event, there will be costs associated with it. And in order to recoup the costs, Waine set up a Go Fund Me account two months ago to raise $1,000,000 for this ground breaking event.

How is it doing so far?

Again, currently a bit short of the goal with a month left.

Still, those who replied to Waine's message seem enthusiastic. Maybe a little too enthusiastic:

We aren't sure bringing weapons to Parliament Hill will be approved of.

Now, you're probably asking yourselves if they have a permit for this event?

Uhm.... not so much, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The other fella organizing this event, though I use the word "organizing" in the loosest sense of the word, is this guy:

Steven Alexander Gregory Myatt looks to be the primary organizer and is super excited:

Legion might be a stretch, but A+ for being an eager beaver.

To get an idea of what Myatt and his followers would like to do when they arrive at Parliament Hill, he's not so subtle:

And his supporters are even less so:

Or maybe he was just buying something from the Dollar Tree and has
no idea who you are? That might also be a possibility.

However, in the midst of these people fantasizing about murdering politicians, there was a bit of tension:

There's the rub, and an issue that was discussed in the previous article.

These people really don't even like each other all that much.

Infighting Amongst Canadian Islamophobes: Part 1

This past Saturday ARC reported that the Canadian chapter of the Soldiers of Odin had broken away from the Finnish parent organization because after basically two years of being presented with evidence that the founder of the Finnish chapter was a neo-Nazi and that much of the membership were neo-Nazis, the new Canadian leadership who had previously denied this reality had come to realize that the Finnish founder of the Soldiers of Odin was, indeed, a neo-Nazi.

Also, a lot of Canadian members didn't want to pay membership dues to Finland, so money was an issue.... probably the real issue.

As Stewart Bell observed in Monday's edition of the National Post however, this break has resulted in a schism within the Canadian movement:
TORONTO — The far-right group Soldiers of Odin has splintered in Canada after the two main factions turned against each other in a dispute over whether to remain aligned with their racist namesake in northern Europe.....The Finnish leaders of the anti-immigrant group responded by expelling Daniels and banning him from using the name Soldiers of Odin. The Quebec branch then said it was also splitting away from the Daniels wing.
“There is indeed a disconnect between SOO Quebec and SOO Canada,” said the Quebec chapter president, Katy Latulippe. “As the provincial president, and with a unanimous vote, we decided that Quebec would dissociate Canada.”
The Daniels faction “will no longer be allowed to wear the colors of the Soldiers of Odin,” she said. “It is important to know that more than 50% of the divisions in Canada do not agree with Bill Daniels and also wishes to continue their activities under the banner of the SOO.”
One wonders what the Canadian Finnish loyalists would do should they come across anyone associated with Daniels' SoO wearing the colours of the SoO in defiance of the Finnish order?

That this is all happening isn't all that much of a surprise. ARC has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous hate groups which have broken apart due to personality conflicts within the group itself. And the SoO isn't the only anti-Muslim hate group to find itself in this position in Canada either.

For example, Stewart Bell has also observed that Ron Banerjee's vanity project Rise Canada has broken with Sandra Soloman who has become the most visible personality in the Canadian Islamophobic movement:
Banerjee alluded to the breaking off of ties with Soloman, though he didn't refer to her by name:
