Organised by the Industry Programs Unit of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), these public-access ticketed events are for you – whether you are a film or media student; an aspiring or existing screenwriter, editor, director or producer; a film aficionado or just curious!

MIFF’s Industry Programs Unit organises 37°South Market (miff37degreesSouth.com), Australia's only festival-based film co-financing market (which includes Bridging the GapBreakthru Screenings, PostScript&Direct and Books at MIFF) and Accelerator Lab (miffaccelerator.com), Australia's only screen director development workshop at a film festival preparing the hottest short filmmaking talent for a future in feature filmmaking. The Industry Programs Unit also operates the Premiere Fund (miffpremierefund.com).

ADRIAN WOOTTON TALKS FILM FEMMES

Presented by MIFF 37ºSouth Market & Accelerator Lab, Adrian Wootton returns exclusively to Melbourne for another series of his acclaimed Illustrated Film Talks, this year focusing on the Hollywood Golden Age and four legendary actresses, who appeared in some of the greatest films in celluloid history.

A former director of the London Film Festival, British Film Institute and the UK’s National Film Theatre, Wootton is CEO of Film London & The British Film Commission, director of the Crime Scene Festival, and a program advisor to the Venice Film Festival, London Film Festival and Italy’s Courmayeur Noir Fest. Wootton has also contributed to the GuardianSight & Sound, and BBC Radio, and received an honorary doctorate from The University of East Anglia.

Presented by MIFF 37ºSouth Market & Accelerator, celebrated LA-based developer, writer and lecturer Wendall Thomas, who has written and developed projects for companies including Disney, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Universal, Showtime, PBS, A&E and NBC, returns exclusively to Melbourne for more of her popular series unlocking the secrets of film writing with a series of four stand-alone all-day seminars. Thomas’ recent client films include Any Day Now (Winner Audience Award Tribeca 2012), The Truth Below (2011), The Space Between (2011) and the Republic of Two (2013).
