© 2016 - www.conlabrigatasassari.sardinia.it AEROPORTO MILITARE DECIMOMANNU, 9 MARZO 2016 - Assetti del 51° Stormo di Istrana e del 61° Stormo di Galatina (Lecce) sono stati rischierati nella Base Aerea di Decimomannu per la normale attività addestrativa da tempo pianificata dallo Stato Maggiore dell'Aeronautica Militare. Il 51° Stormo è dotato di velivoli AMX ed è stato una pedina fondamentale nel teatro afghano operando col Task Group "Black Cats" nell’ambito della Joint Air Task Force (JATF). Nei sei anni di attività in Afghanistan i velivoli italiani hanno effettuato 3.583 sortite per un totale di 10.526 ore di volo, traguardo mai più eguagliato da velivoli da combattimento italiani in operazioni fuori dai confini nazionali dal termine del secondo conflitto mondiale. La Bandiera di Guerra del 51° Stormo è decorata di una Medaglia d’Oro e una Medaglia d’Argento al Valor Militare per gli eventi bellici del secondo conflitto mondiale nei cieli di Italia, Mediterraneo, Balcani e Russia.. Il 61° Stormo, dotato di velivoli Aermacchi MB339CDII, MB339A e del nuovo Alenia Aermacchi T346-A, ha il compito di preparare i nuovi piloti militari italiani che seguono un percorso formativo attraverso i tre Gruppi di Volo. Il 212° è dedicato all'addestramento "pre-operativo", il 213° fa conseguire agli allievi il Brevetto di Pilota Militare, il 214° provvede all'attività di preparazione a terra per i frequentatori di tutti i corsi di volo, forma gli istruttori di volo dell'Aeronautica Militare. Al Reparto è affidato anche il compito di difesa aerea nei confronti di minacce rappresentate da velivoli che volano a basse velocità (Slow Mover Interceptor). Per questo motivo gli istruttori del 61° Stormo effettuano regolarmente l'addestramento per acquisire e mantenere le capacità operative. Nella giornata del 9 Marzo, oltre alle attività dei velivoli del 51° e del 61° Stormo, sulle piste dell'Aeroporto Militare "Giovanni Farina MOVM" di Decimomannu, sede del Reparto Sperimentale e di Standardizzazione al Tiro Aereo (RSSTA) sono stati impegnati un Eurofighter Typhoon dell'Alenia (VEDI:http://www.aerostoria.it/2015/12/11/l... ), e un Dornier 228NG della Marina Tedesca. Quest'ultimo velivolo, equipaggiato di radar di bordo laterale e apparecchiature di scansione ad infrarossi/ultra-violetto, è specializzato nel controllo dell'inquinamento. Il Dornier 228NG ha effettuato una serie di "touch and go", manovra di routine nell'addestramento dei piloti. © 2016 - www.conlabrigatasassari.sardinia.it DECIMOMANNU AFB, 9 March 2016 - Italian Air Force Aircrafts of the 51st Wing of Istrana and the 61st Wing of Galatina (Lecce) have been redeployed in Decimomannu Air Base for normal activities planned by the ITAF General Staff. The 51st Wing is equipped with AMX aircraft and has been a key part in the Afghan theater working with the Task Group "Black Cats" as part of the Joint Air Task Force (JATF), which ensured a rate of about 150 hours of monthly flight, with an average attendance of 80 military, engaged in operations and logistics. The 51st Wing War Flag is decorated with a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal for Valor (events of the Second World War in the skies of Italy, the Mediterranean, the Balkans and Russia). 61st Wing, equipped with aircraft Aermacchi MB339CDII, MB339A and the new Alenia Aermacchi T346-A, has the task of preparing the new Italian military pilots who follow a training course through the three flying groups. The 212nd is dedicated to training "pre-operational", the 213rd does achieve the Military Pilot Patent, the 214th provides the ground preparation for goers of all flight courses and the Air Force flight instructors.
