Duterte has expressed his desire to build on the stellar accomplishments of the administration of outgoing president Benigno Aquino III, particularly the latter’s good governance initiatives and critical structural reforms that transformed the Philippines from being “the sick man of Asia” into “Asia’s rising tiger.” Of his ten-point socioeconomic agenda revealed on Monday, June 20, for example, his first point was to continue and maintain current macroeconomic policies, including fiscal, monetary and trade policies. However, he intends to depart from Aquino’s legacy of instituting slow but steady macroeconomic reform by advancing an economic agenda which seeks to upgrade, accelerate as well as expand the government’s basic services that shall render the country’s macroeconomic environment...

Here's my part 2 of Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Manila. I was given a hotel by Turkish Airlines which gave me the chance to explore Istanbul on a longer layover. The flight from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Manila is around 10 hours and 45 minutes. It was my first time riding the Airbus A340. Seats were quite old as well as the IFE. However the service of the flight attendants were superb especially the meal service. Enjoy! Welcome onboard Asiana's brand new A350 to Manila. It is always awesome to fly on an inaugural flight, and the crew on this flight were absolutely lovely. The service was full of smiles, kind, and attentive. Drinks were topped off multiple times on this short 3:30 hour flight. Asiana prepared a nice goodie bag for all passengers of this flight. It was a big sleep kit with a really thick and padded eye mask, a neck pillow, and pen and stationary all branded with Asiana A350. The introduction of the A350 is also the introduction of the new premium economy class, as well as the refreshed business class and economy class seats. For business class, the seats offer a lot more privacy and the IFE is bigger and brighter yet the viewing angle is narrow which prevents the glare from waking up othe...

Happy 2017 everyone. I hope you like this video which I took last November 2016 from Cebu to Manila on PAL's Airbus A330 on premium economy class. Please enjoy the flight review. Flight Date: November 18, 2016 Flight #: PR 1854 ETD: 1:40 PM Class: Premium Economy Route: Cebu (CEB) - Manila (MNL) Flight Duration: 1 Hour Verdict: I had a very pleasant flight with PAL. What I love flying PAL on domestic flight is the feeling of a world class service by the cabin crew, the feeling of flying on an international flight as well. Passengers are always served with a smile and very generous when serving drinks on this short sector. One way fare on PAL's Premium Economy is around 5,000 pesos that includes 30 kilos of baggage, priority tagging of bags, access to Mabuhay Lounge, 100% mileage accrual...

ITIK-ITIK, Filipino Folk Dance - The itik-itik is a dance from Surigao, in which the movements of a duck are imitated. An itik is a species of duck. According to folklore, this traditional dance was first performed by a young woman named Kanang who was the best dancer in the province of Surigao del Norte. At a baptismal reception, she was asked to perform and she improvised her dance steps to imitate the way a duck walks and splashes water on its back to attract a mate. Filipino children sing a fun Tagalog version that involves simply repeating the lyrics “Itik-itik sa Manila Zoo…” over and over again. TAGALOG LYRICS TO THE ITIK-ITIK SONG Itik-itik kung tagurian ito’y sayaw sa ating bayan humanga ang sangdaigdigan na sa taglay mong katangian Sa kaway ng iyong mga kamay at sa imbay ng i...

One of the best Filipino food meals you can eat in Manila! ►Subscribe to my channel for more food videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe Aling Sosing's is often considered to be one of the best carinderias, or local Filipino food restaurants, in all of Manila. The crowd that shows up to eat lunch here everyday reinforces the fact that they are no doubt one of the spots you want to be in Manila, if you’re a food lovers. When I was eating in Manila, eating at Aling Sosing's was certainly among the best local Filipino food restaurants that I tried. Aling Sosing's is a very typical type of local street food restaurant, sitting on the corner of a street, near to Makati. Just like most carinderias, all the food is prepared ahead of time, and sits at the front of the restaurant. When you arri...

The trip: Manila - Taal Vulcano - El Nido - Cebu - Bohol Music: Sons Of Maria - Where the Rivers Flow In Manila we stayed at the H2O hotel in a room with a big aquarium. A nice hotel with friendly staff. Manila city wasn't that great so we decided to spend a day climbing the Taal Volcano. A nice place to visit because of the island in a lake within an island in a lake situation. After a few days we took a flight to El Nido which is situated on one of the most beautiful islands in the world; Palawan. We booked a trip (which was slightly rough) to go visit the small islands and saw some beautiful fishes, beaches and limestone rocks. We went on the zipline on Las Cabanas beach and shot a fun hyperlapse. After El Nido we took a second flight to Cebu where we took a daytrip to swim with the ...

A brief documentary about Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. Every year, more than 5.5 million tourists take their vacations in the Philippines, and often Manila is their very first stop. Nearly 16 million people live in the Metro Manila area, which is made up of many smaller cities, including Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, and more. Manila is where big business takes place, where major investments are made, and where residential and commercial real estate is never-ending. Many tourists enjoy the malls, the restaurants, the museums, the nightlife, and even the beautiful Manila Bay. Probably, the biggest tourist attraction is the SM Mall of Asia - the 3rd largest mall in the world. For more details about Manila or the Philippines in general, visit ...

Visiting the Philippines has always been on the list of places I wanted to go and since I was back in Asia during the whale shark season, I decided to take the opportunity and traveled to the Philippines for 2 weeks. My plan was to spend the first week exploring the volcano part of the Philippines and last week in the islands. I had my friend to show me in and around Manila, getting to see the part of the city the western media doesn't show. I went and hiked to Mt Pinatubo lake and Lake Taal with my good friend April from Tripkada, explore the most symmetrical volcano in the world, Mayon Volcano in Legazpi, swim with whale sharks the right way in Donsol (not as disruptive as in Oslob), ride a motorbike around Bohol and jumped on a boat and cruise around the beautiful Palawan. My first t...

3,252 pesos can bring you to a place above the cloud full of mysteries. Wanna know how? Here it goes! -How to get there from Manila? Take a bus that can bring you to Baguio. Leave Manila around 4 to 5 am so you can be at Baguio around 11am. I prefer taking Victory Liner because their buses depart every hour from their terminals in Manila, Cubao, Caloocan, and Pasay. Buses get full, especially during peak season. So be sure to reserve your ticket a day before your scheduled departure to guarantee yourself a seat. When you arrive at Baguio take a taxi going to GL/Lizardo Trans Station at Dangwa Terminal and ride a bus going to Botoc! From Baguio to Bontoc, it is a 5 to 6 hour journey. Take the 12:30pm or 1:30pm bus to Bontoc so you’ll catch the beautiful combination of colors in the sky ...

It's another backpacker's trip (maybe when we're older we'd travel more luxuriously) and we visit Philippines northernmost tip of land - Ilocos. It was a short four day adventure - mostly of beaches and falls. We loved the natural Kabigan falls the best, proved to be a very refreshing dip after a scorching day in the sun. We don't see much clear waters in our Manila rivers nowadays but the tributaries from the falls were pristine enough it was potable. Pagudbud beach, we love to return here. Quieter than Boracay but has that similar quintessential beach vibe. We prefer solitude now, not so much for parties and night outs. Again as our travel adventures dictate: we don't plan on anything. Literally drove to whichever terminal that has a destination for either Vigan or Laoag on the night (...

Our group have been hunting for secluded beaches that are 3-4 hours away from Manila or from La Union (some of my travel buddies are from NCR while I and one of them are from La Union). I've been researching for infamous but beautiful beaches that may bring some kind of serenity to the soul and that will give time for our group to reconnect with Mother N. Thus, choosing Zambales to be our next drop off destination for our last summer travel. I was first caught by the showcased scenery of Nagsasa. But a traveler/photographer in IG told me that Nagsasa is quite crowded and suggested Talisayen as an alternative beach spot instead. It was fortunate that one of my former colleague in the school publication had gone to Talisayen therefore, he referred a tourist guide to our group [I still have t...
On my Plane to Manila
passengers sit'n row to row
The Flight staff served the curry chicken,
When I heard the Turbin go, "Yeah!"
Out of my window was the sunset,
On the wings a funny glow,
Then my seat started rattling,
Im sure that wasn't part of the show,
So i started to dance,
Without wearing no seatbelts
So i started to dance,
Without wearing no life vest,
I started to dance..
My plane noise went down,
I heard the pilot call `regrets`,
But the people didn't panic,
They all just stared at me,
And they started to dance,
Without wearing no seatbelts,
we all started to dance,
Without wearing no life vest,
We all started to dance,
It was quiet a ride.
So i started to dance,
Without wearing no seatbelts
So i started to dance,
Without wearing no life vest,
