The Skagit Valley lies in the northwestern corner of the state of Washington, USA. Its defining feature is the Skagit River, which snakes through local communities which include the seat of Skagit County, Mount Vernon, as well as Sedro-Woolley, Concrete, Lyman-Hamilton, and Burlington.
The local newspaper is Skagit Valley Herald, published in Mount Vernon, Washington.
Between 1967 and 1983, there was a plan by Puget Sound Power and Light Co. to build two nuclear power plants in Skagit Valley, but due to controversy, these plans were shelved.
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a spring festival attended by thousands of visitors.
Tulip Festivals are held in several cities around the world, mostly in North America — usually in cities with a Dutch heritage — such as Albany, New York; Ottawa, Ontario; Gatineau, Quebec; Montreal, Quebec; Holland, Michigan; Lehi, Utah; Orange City, Iowa; Pella, Iowa; Mount Vernon, Washington; and Woodburn, Oregon, and in other countries such as AustraliaIndia and England. The tulips are considered a welcome harbinger of spring, and a tulip festival permits residents to see them at their best advantage. The festivals are also popular tourist attractions. The tulips are displayed throughout the cities. In certain years the peak of tulips does not coincide with the actual festival due to climatic conditions.

Ultra-high-definition television (also known as 2160p, UHD-1, Super Hi-Vision, Ultra HD television, UltraHD, UHDTV, or UHD) includes 4K UHD (2160p) and 8K UHD (4320p), which are two digital video formats proposed by NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories and defined and approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The Consumer Electronics Association announced on October 17, 2012, that "Ultra High Definition", or "Ultra HD", would be used for displays that have an aspect ratio of 16:9 and at least one digital input capable of carrying and presenting native video at a minimum resolution of 3840×2160 pixels.
Ultra-high-definition television is also known as Ultra HD, UHD, and UHDTV. In Japan, 8K UHDTV will be known as Super Hi-Vision since Hi-Vision was the term used in Japan for HDTV. In the consumer electronics market companies had previously only used the term 4K at the 2012 CES but that had changed to Ultra HD during the 2013 CES. The Ultra HD term is an umbrella term that was selected by the Consumer Electronics Association after extensive consumer research.

We started from Manning Park’s Sumallo Grove picnic area on Highway #3 and hiked the Skagit Valley trail to the Harlequin Flats camp and the Rhododendron groves. Our April 2013 Washington State discovery trip was to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, everything else on this trip would be a bonus. And what bonuses they turned out to be, like the giant flock of snow geese just miles from the tulip festival... music by Artist: Keyn project Title: nickel clouds
Me and CG drive to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival about 70 miles north of Seattle. The Tulip festival happens each April as tulips bloom in Skagit Valley near Mount Vernon and La Connor, WA.. Hundreds of thousands of visitors take the driving tour through the valley each April, so it can get pretty crowded; we went on a weekday, which I recommend if you have the option. Parking can be a challenge, especially if the roads are crowded, and stopping along the roadside is not allowed in many areas, although we found several spots off the main routes where we could get out and take some nice photos without having to pay for parking or navigate crowds. Thanks for watching, and connect with this media to catch all of my videos. SUBSCRIBE TO BUCKREDBUCK ON YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/ch...

From farms in the fertile valley to bad eagles and snow geese and historic towns with quaint old buildings, this is a nice place to visit. La Conner is a town in Skagit County, Washington, United States with a population of 891 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Mount Vernon--Anacortes, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area.
