A massive $6 million investment and a former hatted chef are part of the mix at a new venue kicking off on Friday July 21 in Rooty Hill.

Former fine-dining chef Warren Turnbull's booming Chur Burger brand slides into the Made by the Hill cafe-restaurant, alongside artisan pizza outlets and boutique bars.

Haberfield's Pasticceria Papa will also be serving its baked ricotta cheesecake and other treats at the new venue, which is within the sprawling Rooty Hill RSL complex.

"What they are doing is fantastic," Turnbull says.

The general manager for food and beverage at the club, Lucas Van Agten, says: "We didn't really have anything for the younger market. The space it has taken over felt like the sort of place you'd play bingo, but it has been transformed."

TomMarkHenry, the design outfit behind The Darlo Country Club and Bondi's Best, has fashioned the Scandi-inspired interior.

"It is a big investment. It is a massive joint. When they took me on my first tour, I was like 'oh my goodness'. They have plans to make it even bigger," Turnbull says.

Made by the Hill, open Sun-Thu 11am-2am, Fri-Sat 11am-3am.
